More like every NPC that ever fought alongside players, think of many of them died just so you can continue on. The majority of them never said anything, never asked for anything. most did not even know who you were. They just charge into battle alongside you and soak up damage so you can win the battle.
I'd Like to bring up KingSlayer Orkus. You first meet him Silverpine forest In the quest ''Welcome to the Machine'', where you take the place of a quest giver. He is quick to boast of his accomplishments and brag about his frostwyrm mount. You send him off and later find him drowing in the ocean shore (very embarrassingly i might add). After rescuing his Wyrm, Kasha, you head to a nearby island to steal Alliance war plans. There, as you hack through alliance troops, he tells you about himself, Apologizing for calling you puny, telling he considers you friend, And that he never actually witnessed Lich king die. Or went into Ulduar. he Is more of a...dungeon explorer. Then you finally reach the plans, but right next to them is a trio of alliance heroes (i forgot who they were). Realizing what had to be done, he kills the man holding the battle plans, and charges the heroes, holding them off while you grab the plans and board Kasha to flee. Kasha grabs Orkus and you two head towards Tarren mill. Orkus tells you are the best friend he ever had, and asks you to take Kasha somewhere cold and safe. He then dies Mid flight. He lived not very bravely, but he died like a hero, the one moment he's faction needed him. I salute you Orkus. CAN YOU SMELL WHAT THE LOK'TAR IS COOKING!?
i would also like to mention/nominate Maraad for being with us since burning Crusade and up to WOD and his brave loyalty and battles he had to see when the orcs attacked his home and had to watch the Darnei people die, up to his brave sacrifice in Warlords, never forget (In the LIGHT, we are ONE)

Nixxiom didn't u see what Lilian did in scholomance? She almost died!!! She allowed us to kill the grandmaster by breaking his shield. Many people think that she died but if u have an inn though u know she is alive.
When I was leveling I'm northrend, I did the last two levels in icecrown. When I reached level 90, I was ready to go to Pandaria, but there were some undone quests in my journal. I looked at them all, and one of them was to cure a crusader. I said to myself that i will not leave this expansion without doing this quest, which led to a long quest chain, traveling all over the world, even to Outland, it was a pain in the ass, but I said that I will save this guy. At the end of the quest line I sat with him in his last seconds, volume all the way up, and I felt it. This moment was amazing. It was like watching a good movie. Now when I realized that this quest line is about a real person, I am shocked.
Hey Nixxiom, I just had this idea you might be interested in. There are tonnes of lost characters in Warcraft that we haven't seen or heard from in ages. Maybe, for a video or video series you could develop them and create an alternate reality for them. Like, create your own lore. Personally I think that would be pretty cool

It's a really fun fact, that at 6:32, you show a picture of Shandris with Sylvanas Model, AND, that in Warcraft III, Shandris also had Sylvanas Model X')
I think we can mention Rheastrasza the red dragon, she sacrified herself and her egg trying to give redemption to the black dragonflight, thanks to her Wrathion still alive. She knew Deathwing would come, but she faced him she didn't run, she gave her life to make Deathwing think the work was done.

Nathanos the Blightcaller! Only human to have ever integrated and ranked up the Silvermoon Rangers. Loyal lieutenant of Sylvanas, in life and beyond death. Survived countless takedown attempts by the Alliance in the Plaguelands. Now hunter trainer in Undercity. Would love to see him in and his blighted hounds in HotS or at least have his card in HS :p
Great video as always Nixxiom, love the fact that you put Baine on this list, he's my personal favorite and definitely lives up to his fathers heroism and wisdom, and Dranosh was a nice addition too, loved his story, very sad he had to die, would have made an awesome Warchief.
I also like Forteski, because he does something that most Forsaken don't do for anyone--he saves you at the cost of his own life. The Forsaken are usually portrayed as heartless and cold, and have little regard for humans and other living things. So having a Forsaken character save you, especially at the cost of his OWN life, really stands out and sticks with you.
My favourite unsung hero is Darius Crowley. Powerfull Gilnean nobleman, who was openly against Greymane's separatist ideas- and ironically when those ideas were put in motion, most of his own lands were left behind the Wall, at "mercy" of Scourge and Forsaken scum. Despite being king's closest friend, he rebelled against his stupid decisions and was put in jail. At the very moment of Wolf Cult attack on Gilneas City, he instantly dropped his animosity towards Genn and they both fought together. Crowley also volunteered to stay behind and draw rabid worgens's attention from te refugees, what resulted in his turning into lycantrope himself. Later he participated in Battle of Gilneas City and once again stayed behind to lead the Gilneas Liberation Front, being archnemesis in whole horde storyline in Silverpine. Sure, he 'breaks down' when Sylvanas threatens to kill his daughter and raise her as f Forsaken, but the truth is- he surrendered when Alliance forces already were defeated. Thus, his reteat in fact rescued GLF and 7th Legion from complete annihilation.
Really glad you had Bridenbrad on the list, it's one of my all-time favourite questlines in the entire games history. And after i learnt that it was a memorial for an actual person i only loved it more.
Dude, if you like Baine, you really should check out War Crimes. I didn't give two copper about the Tauren and Baine before I read it but came out really liking Baine afterward.
This list is totally accurate. Even as a Tauren, I love many night elven characters. Tauren need an even cooler character, a hero of an expansion. Orcs and Humans can take a backseat in Legion; Baine Bloodhoof and the Tauren armies should get a cutscene at the end of the expansion where we all charge the portal, then Baine sacrifices himself to kill as many demons as possible, killing hundreds of demons, then wounding Sargeras and shutting the portal forever. That would rock!
+Tauren Oracle I'm mostly an Alliance player but if I had to choose a favorite race it would be the Tauren. In my opinion they always know what is truely right. Not like being arogant right but most of their race hates conflict and wants to help both sides with their problems not just one.
+Semipro Gamer a tauren hero would be very nice, however in the legion expansion trailer, they only show varian wrynn and kadgar( idk how kadgar is spelled sry) so i think that he might be the new hero together with kadgar or so:/
+Warren silver Genn got a new model for Legion so hopefully more development for him. Also Darius Crowley is the biggest baddass for the Worgens, he's like Worgen Saurfang

Nah, fuck the Forsaken and Forteski. The entire Gilneas war paints the Forsaken as the bad guys and Sylvanas' excuse is completely false as we know she only sees the Forsaken as a quiver. In fact I'm levelling my Belf Warlock in Silverpine now and I'm laughing my ass off at how much the Forsaken are getting there asses handed to them.
+RatchildUK Actually, if you read the Leader Short Story for Sylvanas you'd know she's come to care for her people. In fact, the only reason she still rules after getting her revenge is because she knows Garrosh would mistreat and eventually wipe out the Forsaken. That's also why she used the plague: without it, and going behind Garrosh's back, the Forsaken would not just have lost at Gilneas, but been wiped out completely.
+RS Zealot (RariShyZealot) In Edge of Darkness she's clearly seeing the Forsaken as a resource and not as a people. They are a resource to her, one that will eventually deplete if she doesn't create more. She's Lich King 2.0 and either needs smacking into sense or outright killing. Genn deserves his revenge.

I would add Naisha to the list. She was the first lieutenant to Maiev. She survived Tyrande`s attack on the Barrow deeps. She helped hunt Illidan down up until the Tomb of Sargeras where Illidan tried to bury Maiev alive using the power of the eye of Sargeras. She and all the other night elves were trapped with the exception of Maiev thanks to her blinking power. While Maiev tried to stay behind and save them she told Maiev to forget about them and continue the hunt, sacrificing herself. Great vid!
Hey Nixxiom, I was just wondering, how deep you are into Warcraft lore? Have you read all the books and played all the games or do you just pick up pieces along the way? Because you seem to know a lot but I didn't have you down as a lore person

+Ranomas Lightbringer I've read almost every WoW novel (stopped reading after Tides of War though), played through the Warcraft games, read through all the RPG guides (although they are non-canon), and used to be a page editor on WoWwiki years ago. Although I admit I'm not the fan-boy I used to be when it comes to the lore, I do know my fair share. Sometimes I make mistakes though in videos like these, which people quickly correct me on. :)

Ive seen people who completely just ignore the lore and blacklist you for correcting them. even if you are just trying to help them. +Connor notyerbidness I have read many of the WoW books but I do not like stopping to read text in the game. I have this drive to be on the move most the time when I play, except of course while in the garrison.
Another excellent list. Heroes all. All familiar folk who elicit wonderful memories from my years in Azeroth. You touched on some of my favorite questchains including Crusader Bridenbrad, whom I always want to tend to when I find him lying in the snowy mountains. Next to whom I always build a fire to keep him warm.
If you kill her too slowly or kill her in an improper way, she dies. If you do it right, you break the Headmaster's control and she stabs the shit out of his bone shield and lives to fight another day. The way blizzard usually works is that if in a fight or game scenario for a character to live, they live.
Well, it's reasonable for those who do not have then inn (and prior to WoD) to assume that she died because the last words she ever said were "Leave me... to die... Please..."

I think that John J. Keeshan has to be my favorite unsung hero in WoW, the quest chain was amazing and even had a cliffhanger making you wait until you could quest in another zone to continue his story.
Dude thanks for this. Last one even if I was aware of the back story of the quest it really bringing a tear in my eye to hear what blizz did for their friends dead brother.

I had no idea that Bridenbrad was inspired by actual events. I knew that Blizzard had made nods to others in the games (like Ezra in Mulgore) or other games (like the NOVA shrine in Netherstorm), but what stuck with me with the quest was that so many people look for a way to continue to live on their deathbeds, and the characters in this game are no exception. But now that I know that it was a tribute, it hits hard. Thanks for the list, Nixxiom.
There are a lot of unsung heroes in WoW, hell even Grandma Stonefield and William Pestley in Goldshire for getting Maybell and together with Tommy (I think it was Tommy). Marshal Dungan too. You have LOADS of them everywhere! Also excited to see that new How to: Class vid :D
Baine in the book Warcrimes really shines. His involvement in Vol'jin's revolution and his actions, from what I've heard, in Tides of War makes show how strong and deep of a character he is. He is easily my favorite Warcraft character. R.I.P. Cairne

Just want wanted to suggest that if you do another video like this about unsung characters to really, really look at ones that have done important things that most people might not know about. It just seemed there were a lot of characters are sung about but maybe I'm just being a lore nerd that knows almost every character :P
It's pretty cool to see this list near the end of Shadowlands, now that more spotlight's been shed on Nobundo, Medivh, and Darion in Legion, Baine, Shandris, and Lilian in BfA, and more Darion in Shadowlands!
+vgSp00fy If they make Sylvanas a villain I quit. She is a character with a very deep lore, they could do sooo much which her. But they also shouldn't make her a good gal! She is an anti-hero, she is good for the Forsaken but bad for basically everyone else, but if she must she will fight for Azeroth and against the Legion. Maybe Bolvar goes mad because of Ner'zhul (who's spirit is alive and well I bet) and we have a story were Sylvanas takes her final revenge against our Ner'zhul, she hated Arthas, but he was at that point just a puppet before gainig control when merging with Ner'zhul. I don't give a damn what it will be, but it should be her moment of glory! I hope that she and Genn and have theirs in Legion because they are listed on the page with new models (which is always a sign that they will get a part in the story). But Legion would also be a great expac for Baine, with the Tauren and their connection to the titans - Tauren lore + a Tauren main character would fit! Well well, let's see. And who would be the next leader of the forsaken? Lillian Voss? Nah, I don't think so and having Sylvanas maybe even killed by her, a Character that was an active part of 1 dungeon (and a questgiver in the scarlet monestary dungeons) and the only people who really know her are Forsaken that did her storyline - which are a minority I guess, just because with the Heirlooms you are out of Tirisfal Glades in no time. Koltira? He has no character despite "I'm a death knight and have a Death Knight friend on the Alliance side". Do you want to trade a character that is known and loved since WC3 with that? I don't think so.
Baine in the real MVP. He warned Jaina of Theramore's attack and most of all, he has to defend Garrosh during his trial despit the fact he hated him. And he did well.
never forget Forteski! I always liked revamped Silver Pine and is one of the only revamped zones I stayed in just to finish the whole zone. Forteski and the Your-name-nub part in the beginning were awesome.
Master Forteski is one of my all time favorite characters in WoW, and when I was 14, I began writing a story that followed several Dark Rangers that I made up, and Forteski was a pivotal character, and was one of the few to live through the story. At the end, he tells another character that he's been reassigned to a new location, and when she asks where, he says Silverpine Forest. Needless to say, the two characters never see each over again because of Forteski's actual in game death. I don't know why I like him so much, but only Arthas and Tyrathan Khort are characters that I like more. Just watching the segment of this video with him in it always makes me smile.
that last one really hit mr hard thats the most amazing thing ive ever heard or seen i wanna do all of wrath now because sadly i couldnt play back then and god damn it hurt in such a heart pulling way to hear that may he rest in peace and the naaru guide him to peace
One unsung hero could be Maximillian of Northshire. I always thought he was a hilarious hero, who tried to save the damsels in danger, but just made their situations worse.
Nixxiom, good video, and I have to say that the Crusader Bridenbrad Questline was one of my favorites... but I would include more heroes on this list, John J. Keeshan and Fiona as examples (in fact, I was glad that they were considered in small appearances in WoD).
Great video Nixx, agree with all of them. Darion and Baine especially, they are badass, as is Joseph Redpath. There seems to me to be a fairly glaring omission though. Broxigar. As far as I know there's no location in the game named after him, or item, or statue. I'm unsure if he appears in a quest chain or not, since I only started playing in MoP. Some hardcore players would probably know who he is, but many probably would not, yet he was literally one of the most powerful beings to have ever existed, he willingly sacrificed himself to buy his friends enough time to close the Dark Portal, thus saving the world, and he is the only mortal to have ever wounded Sargeras, inspiring hope among the mortal races that Sargeras may one day be defeated. A total badass and worthy addition to this list. I do agree with all of yours though.
An honourable mention to Eitrigg, he was one of the few orcs to befriend a human and ever so slightly blur the line of segregation between the factions. Also to Tirion Fodering, the human Eitrigg befriended. Most people only know him as the guy who shattered frostmourne. But what some don't know is that he swore an oath to Eitrigg. One that the alliance wanted him to break, but Tirion kept his word. In doing so he was banished from the silver hand and stripped of his power. Giving that much up to an orc who was only recently a sworn enemy is pretty damn honourable if you ask me.
i remember when i did the nr1 quest. its the only time i shred some tears for a quest in WoW, it was so emotional. I had no idea about the history behind that quest.
Darion is definitely one of my personal favourites, that conversation he had with his father in the Shadowmourn questline, broke me, he clearly still loves his dad and it was just beautiful, that's why he is one of my favourites and why I have my own death knight goat-- unholy goat if ya will XD Also, the last character you mentioned on the list, it's so sweet for Blizz to add such heartbreaking, yet sweet memorial :')
I haven't seen Medivh as unsung before^^ but you're right. His bad sides mostly overshadowed his heroism for many people. Also I have to say, that I also like these characters a lot and hope for more Lilian Voss lore. Maybe in acceptance of her fate and becoming a loyal to sylvanas (because they both suffered imense pain) maybe even waking the feelings of the lich queen again and taking her away from the dark path shes going. yeah that would be cool^^
oh man Nobundo is by far my favorite! When I started out as shaman I went to read about him and how badass he was and what happened to him, then when I saw him in WoD it gave me the chills that the elements called him in Nagrand even while being a Paladin
I have a story to tell about Nix's number one. If you'd care to listen, take a seat and I'll buy you a pint. When Nixxiom mentioned his name, strangely, gears within the back of my mind began to turn quickly. Before Nixxiom could say another word, I found my mouth spitting out the words, "The crusader that contracted the plague in Northrend?" And surely enough, it was. Then, it all became clear, the memories coming back to me, if a bit foggy but still. I remember wondering the Frozen Wastes as my Warlock who I had ever since the Burning Crusade. To whether it was an expansion during or after Wrath of the Lich King, I cannot say. However, I was exploring the Frozen Wastes of Icecrown, when I came across a wounded crusader near a camp fire. He had a quest and despite possibly be too low level, I accepted it. Despite the distance, I traveled to Moonglade, Wrymrest and even Shattrath. I returned only to watch the crusader pass, as he ascended to a much better place. I do not know why the memory hid within the recesses of my mind, however I do know that I did not know of the backstory behind of which why Blizzard wrote him in. The background now known, I am glad I just happened to be wondering so I could put a crusader to rest.
Biggest unsung Heroes are the Alliance and Horde soldiers, without them, nothing would be possible.

Great video as always Nixxiom, love the fact that you put Baine on this list, he's my personal favorite and definitely lives up to his fathers heroism and wisdom, and Dranosh was a nice addition too, loved his story, very sad he had to die, would have made an awesome Warchief.

I also like Forteski, because he does something that most Forsaken don't do for anyone--he saves you at the cost of his own life. The Forsaken are usually portrayed as heartless and cold, and have little regard for humans and other living things. So having a Forsaken character save you, especially at the cost of his OWN life, really stands out and sticks with you.
My favourite unsung hero is Darius Crowley. Powerfull Gilnean nobleman, who was openly against Greymane's separatist ideas- and ironically when those ideas were put in motion, most of his own lands were left behind the Wall, at "mercy" of Scourge and Forsaken scum.
Despite being king's closest friend, he rebelled against his stupid decisions and was put in jail. At the very moment of Wolf Cult attack on Gilneas City, he instantly dropped his animosity towards Genn and they both fought together. Crowley also volunteered to stay behind and draw rabid worgens's attention from te refugees, what resulted in his turning into lycantrope himself. Later he participated in Battle of Gilneas City and once again stayed behind to lead the Gilneas Liberation Front, being archnemesis in whole horde storyline in Silverpine.
Sure, he 'breaks down' when Sylvanas threatens to kill his daughter and raise her as f
Forsaken, but the truth is- he surrendered when Alliance forces already were defeated. Thus, his reteat in fact rescued GLF and 7th Legion from complete annihilation.
Really glad you had Bridenbrad on the list, it's one of my all-time favourite questlines in the entire games history. And after i learnt that it was a memorial for an actual person i only loved it more.

This list is totally accurate. Even as a Tauren, I love many night elven characters. Tauren need an even cooler character, a hero of an expansion. Orcs and Humans can take a backseat in Legion; Baine Bloodhoof and the Tauren armies should get a cutscene at the end of the expansion where we all charge the portal, then Baine sacrifices himself to kill as many demons as possible, killing hundreds of demons, then wounding Sargeras and shutting the portal forever. That would rock!

Nah, fuck the Forsaken and Forteski. The entire Gilneas war paints the Forsaken as the bad guys and Sylvanas' excuse is completely false as we know she only sees the Forsaken as a quiver. In fact I'm levelling my Belf Warlock in Silverpine now and I'm laughing my ass off at how much the Forsaken are getting there asses handed to them.
+RatchildUK Actually, if you read the Leader Short Story for Sylvanas you'd know she's come to care for her people. In fact, the only reason she still rules after getting her revenge is because she knows Garrosh would mistreat and eventually wipe out the Forsaken. That's also why she used the plague: without it, and going behind Garrosh's back, the Forsaken would not just have lost at Gilneas, but been wiped out completely.

They are a resource to her, one that will eventually deplete if she doesn't create more. She's Lich King 2.0 and either needs smacking into sense or outright killing. Genn deserves his revenge.

I would add Naisha to the list. She was the first lieutenant to Maiev. She survived Tyrande`s attack on the Barrow deeps. She helped hunt Illidan down up until the Tomb of Sargeras where Illidan tried to bury Maiev alive using the power of the eye of Sargeras. She and all the other night elves were trapped with the exception of Maiev thanks to her blinking power. While Maiev tried to stay behind and save them she told Maiev to forget about them and continue the hunt, sacrificing herself.

Hey Nixxiom, I was just wondering, how deep you are into Warcraft lore? Have you read all the books and played all the games or do you just pick up pieces along the way? Because you seem to know a lot but I didn't have you down as a lore person

+Connor notyerbidness I have read many of the WoW books but I do not like stopping to read text in the game. I have this drive to be on the move most the time when I play, except of course while in the garrison.
Another excellent list. Heroes all. All familiar folk who elicit wonderful memories from my years in Azeroth. You touched on some of my favorite questchains including Crusader Bridenbrad, whom I always want to tend to when I find him lying in the snowy mountains. Next to whom I always build a fire to keep him warm.

If you kill her too slowly or kill her in an improper way, she dies. If you do it right, you break the Headmaster's control and she stabs the shit out of his bone shield and lives to fight another day. The way blizzard usually works is that if in a fight or game scenario for a character to live, they live.
Well, it's reasonable for those who do not have then inn (and prior to WoD) to assume that she died because the last words she ever said were "Leave me... to die... Please..."
I always do Bridendrad's small quest chain whenever I level an alt. The bittersweet angle to his story is something that never really gets old.

I think that John J. Keeshan has to be my favorite unsung hero in WoW, the quest chain was amazing and even had a cliffhanger making you wait until you could quest in another zone to continue his story.

I had no idea that Bridenbrad was inspired by actual events. I knew that Blizzard had made nods to others in the games (like Ezra in Mulgore) or other games (like the NOVA shrine in Netherstorm), but what stuck with me with the quest was that so many people look for a way to continue to live on their deathbeds, and the characters in this game are no exception. But now that I know that it was a tribute, it hits hard. Thanks for the list, Nixxiom.

There are a lot of unsung heroes in WoW, hell even Grandma Stonefield and William Pestley in Goldshire for getting Maybell and together with Tommy (I think it was Tommy). Marshal Dungan too. You have LOADS of them everywhere!

Baine in the book Warcrimes really shines. His involvement in Vol'jin's revolution and his actions, from what I've heard, in Tides of War makes show how strong and deep of a character he is. He is easily my favorite Warcraft character. R.I.P. Cairne

Just want wanted to suggest that if you do another video like this about unsung characters to really, really look at ones that have done important things that most people might not know about. It just seemed there were a lot of characters are sung about but maybe I'm just being a lore nerd that knows almost every character :P

+vgSp00fy If they make Sylvanas a villain I quit. She is a character with a very deep lore, they could do sooo much which her. But they also shouldn't make her a good gal! She is an anti-hero, she is good for the Forsaken but bad for basically everyone else, but if she must she will fight for Azeroth and against the Legion. Maybe Bolvar goes mad because of Ner'zhul (who's spirit is alive and well I bet) and we have a story were Sylvanas takes her final revenge against our Ner'zhul, she hated Arthas, but he was at that point just a puppet before gainig control when merging with Ner'zhul. I don't give a damn what it will be, but it should be her moment of glory! I hope that she and Genn and have theirs in Legion because they are listed on the page with new models (which is always a sign that they will get a part in the story). But Legion would also be a great expac for Baine, with the Tauren and their connection to the titans - Tauren lore + a Tauren main character would fit!
Well well, let's see. And who would be the next leader of the forsaken? Lillian Voss? Nah, I don't think so and having Sylvanas maybe even killed by her, a Character that was an active part of 1 dungeon (and a questgiver in the scarlet monestary dungeons) and the only people who really know her are Forsaken that did her storyline - which are a minority I guess, just because with the Heirlooms you are out of Tirisfal Glades in no time. Koltira? He has no character despite "I'm a death knight and have a Death Knight friend on the Alliance side". Do you want to trade a character that is known and loved since WC3 with that? I don't think so.

Baine in the real MVP. He warned Jaina of Theramore's attack and most of all, he has to defend Garrosh during his trial despit the fact he hated him. And he did well.
never forget Forteski! I always liked revamped Silver Pine and is one of the only revamped zones I stayed in just to finish the whole zone. Forteski and the Your-name-nub part in the beginning were awesome.

Master Forteski is one of my all time favorite characters in WoW, and when I was 14, I began writing a story that followed several Dark Rangers that I made up, and Forteski was a pivotal character, and was one of the few to live through the story. At the end, he tells another character that he's been reassigned to a new location, and when she asks where, he says Silverpine Forest. Needless to say, the two characters never see each over again because of Forteski's actual in game death. I don't know why I like him so much, but only Arthas and Tyrathan Khort are characters that I like more. Just watching the segment of this video with him in it always makes me smile.

One unsung hero could be Maximillian of Northshire. I always thought he was a hilarious hero, who tried to save the damsels in danger, but just made their situations worse.
Nixxiom, good video, and I have to say that the Crusader Bridenbrad Questline was one of my favorites... but I would include more heroes on this list, John J. Keeshan and Fiona as examples (in fact, I was glad that they were considered in small appearances in WoD).

Great video Nixx, agree with all of them. Darion and Baine especially, they are badass, as is Joseph Redpath. There seems to me to be a fairly glaring omission though. Broxigar. As far as I know there's no location in the game named after him, or item, or statue. I'm unsure if he appears in a quest chain or not, since I only started playing in MoP. Some hardcore players would probably know who he is, but many probably would not, yet he was literally one of the most powerful beings to have ever existed, he willingly sacrificed himself to buy his friends enough time to close the Dark Portal, thus saving the world, and he is the only mortal to have ever wounded Sargeras, inspiring hope among the mortal races that Sargeras may one day be defeated. A total badass and worthy addition to this list. I do agree with all of yours though.
An honourable mention to Eitrigg, he was one of the few orcs to befriend a human and ever so slightly blur the line of segregation between the factions. Also to Tirion Fodering, the human Eitrigg befriended. Most people only know him as the guy who shattered frostmourne. But what some don't know is that he swore an oath to Eitrigg. One that the alliance wanted him to break, but Tirion kept his word. In doing so he was banished from the silver hand and stripped of his power. Giving that much up to an orc who was only recently a sworn enemy is pretty damn honourable if you ask me.
i remember when i did the nr1 quest. its the only time i shred some tears for a quest in WoW, it was so emotional.
I had no idea about the history behind that quest.
Darion is definitely one of my personal favourites, that conversation he had with his father in the Shadowmourn questline, broke me, he clearly still loves his dad and it was just beautiful, that's why he is one of my favourites and why I have my own death knight goat-- unholy goat if ya will XD
Also, the last character you mentioned on the list, it's so sweet for Blizz to add such heartbreaking, yet sweet memorial :')
I haven't seen Medivh as unsung before^^ but you're right. His bad sides mostly overshadowed his heroism for many people. Also I have to say, that I also like these characters a lot and hope for more Lilian Voss lore. Maybe in acceptance of her fate and becoming a loyal to sylvanas (because they both suffered imense pain) maybe even waking the feelings of the lich queen again and taking her away from the dark path shes going. yeah that would be cool^^
oh man Nobundo is by far my favorite! When I started out as shaman I went to read about him and how badass he was and what happened to him, then when I saw him in WoD it gave me the chills that the elements called him in Nagrand even while being a Paladin

When Nixxiom mentioned his name, strangely, gears within the back of my mind began to turn quickly. Before Nixxiom could say another word, I found my mouth spitting out the words, "The crusader that contracted the plague in Northrend?" And surely enough, it was. Then, it all became clear, the memories coming back to me, if a bit foggy but still. I remember wondering the Frozen Wastes as my Warlock who I had ever since the Burning Crusade. To whether it was an expansion during or after Wrath of the Lich King, I cannot say. However, I was exploring the Frozen Wastes of Icecrown, when I came across a wounded crusader near a camp fire. He had a quest and despite possibly be too low level, I accepted it. Despite the distance, I traveled to Moonglade, Wrymrest and even Shattrath. I returned only to watch the crusader pass, as he ascended to a much better place. I do not know why the memory hid within the recesses of my mind, however I do know that I did not know of the backstory behind of which why Blizzard wrote him in. The background now known, I am glad I just happened to be wondering so I could put a crusader to rest.
