This is a Gorgeous painting, Loved the butterfly additions! Then the thin white highlights to the flowers and Butterflies! Thanks for sharing this video Artsherpa and John! 🎉
This picture is so beautiful to me, I couldn't wait for you to publish the tutorial. Poppies, butterflies, harmony of colors, abstract background... Every detail delights me. I will paint this picture for myself with great enthusiasm. Thank you for all the wonderful videos you've posted, I've made a dozen of them so far, and I'm very satisfied with each one, not because I'm particularly good, but because your excellent instructions, guidance and your husband's great camera witch have created absolutely wonderful tutorial, that is easy to follow. I thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️❤️❤️💖.
I LOVE ALL YOUR INSTRUCTIONS ON PAINTING TUTORIALS . YOU BOTH ARE SO GENEROUS INSTRUCTORS. IM VERY APPRECIATE AND THANKS YOU VERY VERY MUCH. TO CINAMON AND JOHN ❤
I really ❤love this one very uplifting and love the colours, I hope things have turned around a bit for you and your stress is less, you deserve a lot of wonderful things in your life, sending big huge humongous hugs to you and your precious family ❤️❤️❤️🌈🌈
Wow - I am so loving Acrylic April 2023. I have done all the daily paintings except for 1. Each time I think I may not be able to do it, but your teachings make it so much easier & I am really happy with what I have been painting. I wish I had found The Art Sherpa a lot sooner. Once this April is finished, I plan to have a go with the previous Acrylic April years. Thankyou so much Cinnamon & John - you are a brilliant artist & teacher!!
This is so beautiful Cinnamon, such a happy painting. Thank you to you and John for sharing this with us. Much love and appreciation from New Zealand xx
This lesson has helped me understand why I am having difficulty making my petals on flowers separate from each other. I will pull out my hair dryer. I typically wait between steps without fully drying. Thank you for all you do.
Many people are good artists but their work feels flat to me. I like your work because it feels like the flowers are alive and that's how I like to learn how to paint.
I started this today and one of the things I noticed is that sometimes you don't say all the colors you are grabbing.for instance you mentioned two colors when you actually grabbed three. As a beginner this makes a huge difference especially when my colors aren't matching so I go back and rewatch and see you grabbed a third color like white. I'm usually looking at my painting and listening to what you say as I'm grabbing colors then watch what you are doing. Hope this makes sense . I've noticed it on a few tutorials and I hope it doesn't bother you I am mentioning this . I love trying your tutorials and get so frustrated when my colors don't match. This would help me so much if you would always mention all the colors please
Great question, This is more of a focus on strong tonal contrasts more than value contrast. Taking a bit of a note from color Field. that said dropping the color from a photo of your painting can help you see the value easier. Also you are welcome in your own art to push your contrasts to more extremes. I never mind when people find their own way through a painting, Keep in mind that value contrasts or tonal contrasts are just tools we use and they can be flexible to a fairly wide range.
Hi Guys😊 ??HI CINNAMON..I HAVE BEEN DOING SIDE STUDIES ON WE ACH OF THESE ABSTRACTS WE ARE LEAENING, BUT WANT TO ASK IF YOU COULD HELP IN THIS ONE AREA OF EXPLAINING WHY YOU CHOOSE THE COLOR PALETTES THAT YOU DO FOR THESE ABSTRACTS? THE ONLY ONE WITH COLOR CHOICES I THINK I UNDERSTAND IS THE MID-CENTURY MODERN WITH THE PALISH BURNT ORANGE COLOR, THAT LIGHT OLIVE GREEN, AND THE LIGHT TO MEDIUM YELLOW OCHRE. AND I ALSO GET TODAYS COLOR PALETTE, BUT MORE INTERESTED IN THE OTHERS TO HELP ME UNDERSTAND BETTER. THANK YOU ⚘️ ⚘️ ⚘️ ⚘️ 🎉❤❤❤❤ LOVING THESE AND THE STUDYING IS PART OF WHY I'M BEHIND ON MY PAINTINGS. LOVE YOU 🩷✨️⚘️THANK YOU
Happy to help. Did you watch all the color videos we did before April. The work we did on color schemes and the color wheel are how I chose my color palettes. Picking color schemes or stories helps me make choices in a painting. If you missed those the might be fun to check out later. This is a split compliment painting. So starting at the Cad red of the poppies I know that the blues and the pops of light green would be vibrant and dynamic together
Am I the only one who struggled with this? I followed all the steps, put layer after layer after layer on my petals, but they still look like they were done by a 3 year old. Not sure where I missed out :(
Hey there! Don't worry, you're definitely not alone in facing challenges when it comes to painting. Remember, art is a process and every artist has their own unique journey. It's completely normal to feel like you're struggling, especially when trying new techniques or styles. Since you've been following the steps and adding layers to your petals, it might just be a matter of practice and patience. Sometimes, it takes a bit more time and experience to achieve the results we're looking for. I highly recommend sharing your work and your experience in our Acrylic April Facebook group. There, you'll find a supportive community of fellow artists who can offer encouragement, tips, and even share their own struggles. It's a great place to connect, learn, and grow as an artist. So, don't hesitate to join the conversation and discover that you're not alone in this artistic journey. Happy painting!
OK first big art hugs. That can be hard. If i may suggest that you dont try and keep up but that you paint at your pace only. Pause and rewind. Take breaks. Stretch and make the process enjoyable for you first. That is the best part of a video class. I am there anytime your ready. If i make encourage you to take a second try slowly. Put the playback speed to 1 half and just laught at my funny voice. Pause me as often as you need. See if that does not help a ton.
So beautiful ❤

CINNAMON- MAY WE HAVE A TRACEABLE FOR THE FLOWERS AND 🦋 PLEASE? I really want to paint this one. I love this painting.
There is a treacable for this one on the website 💚
I was looking for the traceable so I can be prepared. I didn’t see it.
It is on the website. theartsherpa.com/traceables/p=1 💙
The values are too close - more contrast? Check it w/o color

Here is a lesson with a color palette that us similar but the Values are pushed further th-cam.com/video/-fnlLRgQYKA/w-d-xo.html

why is this abstract rather than impressionism?
