  • Taking my buddy Nate for his first time riding standup jet skis. He killed it and had a blast looking forward to getting him more comfortable on skis and see what skis he prefers as he progresses. His current pick the Yamaha TR-1 Superjet!

Those are the perfect skis to learn on too. I think if he was on a old school 550 it would be even more challenging. But I agree, Nate did well for a first timer.

Over memorial day weekend we had about a half dozen people try the new superjet, we had two or three people try the SXR, and absolutely no one try the 550.

@@billythephoenix absolutely! Those old ski are way harder! We always start new riders on the big guys then if they do well we let them hop on the 701 superjets! Lol Ive never road a 550 but a new rider would struggle from every aspect from buoyancy, power and handling! Id love to take a 550 for a quick ripp 😂 I bet itd take me a little bit of time to get the hang of tht small of a ski!

@@badm0t0rf1ng3r i would of tried the 550 😂 I’m surprised that more people tried the superjet! Jess liked learning on the SXR!

@@Floatsorrolls1 it was good fun. Smokey and slow! Most people were a bit more intimidated by the sxr. The superjet just looks more welcoming.

I started on the 550 and it's challenging, got a bunch of bruises, blew it up a few times but it's rewarding. When the back end starts getting dodgy is when the fun starts

The only ski I rode was a 750 smoker. I skated, wakeboarded and wakeskated at the time. There was two foot chop...ha.. I want a beast ski! Thanx for the video...holding on during acceleration was the hardest. Avid moto rider too! Ha..good times!

@@DanWolk-zo5kf heck yah! Two foot chop couldn’t of been easy😂especially on a 2smoke💨 ski lol. They are a blast. The motorcycle of the water and less risk of getting hurt! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼 always fun to both though!

I am glad it is not just me, I am normally good at things but I am getting dis heartened. I have been trying for a few rides now.
At 6'4 and almost 300 lbs I know I am not built for this stuff normally but I did choose a SXR 1500 so I have that going for me.

@@R1Kyle don’t get discouraged! Its part of what makes riding a standup so rewarding. Its not something you master in your first 10 rides! Its something you get a little better at each time you go out! Weight does make it more difficult 100% but if my 60years old dad at comparable weight can do you absolutely can! Choppy water makes it way more difficult. Gas is ur friend to pull you out of trouble and if you’re crashing or falling off you’re getting better! Don’t give up I’m still getting better each time we go out and ive been riding for nearly 10 years! Im gonna try and make a tips video here soon to help new riders. Dad will so also be in it to give perspective for his weight and mobility as well! Thanks for watching!😎🤘🏼

They are hard AF to ride especially if you’re 6’ 250.

@@anthonyjohnson100 definitely! They got a huge learning curve but is part of what makes them cool. Its rewardingg as heck to get better each time you go out! Women and smaller rider definitely do have an easier time starting out. No other hobby can you go whatever speed you want, get as crazy as you want (within reason lol) and crash 10 times in a outing and be more sore from the workout than from the crashes 😂
