love the suggestion of the metal box or specialized firesafe bag. My landlord doesn't want me to have an ebike stored in her basement but she might be reassured by this. Of course my battery is certified, and new, but if I add the storage box or bag as well, and assure her I won't leave it to charge overight, I might be able to get my bike storage space back!
Yes test the bag I own two of them from different manufacturers and always wonder if they'd work to contain a battery fire. I build my own bikes and buy my batteries from an established ebike manufacturer who puts their name on the battery. I always use the supplied charger but find that it's difficult to charge the batteries and remain near them for the entire 6 hour charge cycle, after all I have a life outside ebikes. PS: if you do burn the bag please make it realistic by using a battery as the fuel!
At 7:05 minutes on your video your address fire suppression. The camera then shows a typical ABC type fire extinguisher I think that you are giving the viewer the wrong impression by showing this and not addressing the fact that this is not for putting out an e-bike battery fire. I charge and store my ebike batteries in a metal box lined with fire proof insulation tested to 3000 degrees, outside on cement with a timer.
What do YOU currently do to mitigate risk of e-bike battery fires?
When do you think we will get a standard charging port instead of all these proprietary ones?

I hope it works! Let me know how it goes!
FYI Bafang batteries are UL certified. Just checked on line certified since 2021.
I'd like to see a video testing the integrity of the battery bag.
Good info, like the battery fire safe bag. Burning the bag would be interesting.
Yes, do a torture test, and if successful provide a link for a discount AND quantity discount, too. Thank you.
You can be a dealer for battery safeguard, that's an option.
Great video. Thanks, however one must drill a series of holes in a metal battery storage box to prevent it from becoming a bomb.

Pleased you have addressed this issue. Great tips re the metal box and fire proof bag.
Instead of burning the bag you could send it out as a prize for new subscribers to your channel.
Yes on the test

Somehow, you dodged all the disclaimers to arrive here
Store batteries you don't use all the time in fireproof boxes...
Burn it😂 also how in the fire blankets work as well
