I've lived in 4 of the 5 NYC boroughs over three decades, and the racial diversity of close friend groups amongst politically liberal people, across multiple generations, is largely a fantasy. It's a worthy goal, but very rare.
Since I have time, I will spell it out: Because predominately white casts have existed since television media has been in business due to white supremacy. White media actually existed to denigrate and spread stereotypes/propaganda about black people and other racial minorities, (think blackface)There has been little representation for other groups, and since media is a billion dollar business, and we all consume it, it is important that people of color are represented. We have just begun seeing diversity and it’s important to implement that as much as possible.
@BrownTingz Gosh. So kind of you to spare the time to regurgitate Anti-Racist talking points. But please consider, African Americans make up 12% of the total U.S. population (far less than the truly underrepresented Latino population at 18%), and 24% in NYC (whites 60%). THAT is why tv and film casts are predominantly white, not a hidden racist agenda. "We have just begun seeing diversity" Are you remotely aware of just how many multimillionaire African American actors there are and have been since the 1980s?? How many box office blockbusters and top rated tv shows with POC leads? Ever heard of Oprah? Do some research, I think you're in for a pleasant shock. Suggest you start with the Cosby Show, #1 rated sitcom for 5 of its 8 year run... wayyyy back in the '80s.
Diversity should not be forced onto people. It is not realistic. I would not want that expectation placed on beautiful shows like Girlfriends. Sometimes we just need our own spaces.
I love nicole so much I wish they also added garcelle beauvais she has that I have been in New York streets for decades the glamorous girls always out for some even ...
I was a secret admirer of sex and the city. But I got so into the show when I started. As I age I know I will be facing all these challenges and I also hope to learn to face life with the bond of friends both new and old. Thank you!
Disagree with Tamron there, The show didn't succeed because of diversity,False. Sex in the City was a hit period and a great show and Movie. I as a Latina never once thought while watching the show gee I wish the show was more diverse Why because I enjoyed watching. Do we wish more races were on the show, yes but don't say the show would do better if it was more diverse.
Agree. As an Asian chick, I loved it and didn’t even think about race at all. Didn’t even think about it when Lucy Lui was in an episode. They interviewed Cynthia Nixon and Ana Navarro said the 4 females being white never bothered her and she watched for the friendship
@Psychology major I didn't really care either, it was still my favorite show. But....the backlash I see and everyone calling AJLT "woke" because there is diversity really pisses me off. I live in NYC....black people live there. I am one and I've seen them with my own 2 eyes.
It was a too bit "woke" in the first episode, but if they tone that done a bit it has potential. That just gets too forced and not how real relationships develop. Also seems Miranda is developing a drinking problem that will come up more I expect.
It wasn't "woke" it was an intentional exaggeration of Miranda being "woke." Acknowledging someone's blackness obviously makes you uncomfortable. Don't worry we will try hide and not discuss ourselves so that you can tolerate us. 👍🏽 🙄
@@jammzy2959 Nope not at all. It was just ridiculous by Miranda of all people to act that way. It must have been her now obvious drinking problem. There is no need in a professional setting to "acknowledge" anyone race or religion or sexuality in a professional setting. What do you bring to table and what can you contribute to team is all i ask of people. Your "blackness" whiteness etc isn't what matters. Race in no way makes me uncomfortable. We just moved to the USA from Denmark. And it is really difficult to make friends with the clicks that are already established. It does not matter that our kids are only 9. The ladies are not welcoming, and although the population where we live is somewhat diverse. The click does not welcome other ethnicities. So I would say that although I did loved Sex and the city back in the day, I do miss Samantha. I think the new plots are a bit forced, considering that Miranda is gay, why wouldn't her character explore that? And now everyone is rich in this new version and over the top. How out of touch could this new iteration be, women spending crazy amounts of money on clothing, only living an elitist life? Has that been how the lives of all American women have turned out to be after 30 year? I wonder how relatable that is for everyone. People had to leave NYC because of so many reasons during the pandemia. NJ is filled with people from NYC. The prices of real state in NJ are out of reach. Now there is a new NYC in NJ.
Your comment is all over the place in thought mentioning your issues with them being “rich” “over the top” “out of touch” “Elitist”? Sounds exactly like Samantha yet you miss her character? And NJ? Did you want them make the new setting New Jersey? You started out by saying you do not feel welcome in your new environment but finished by saying that ppl from NYC have filled NJ. Is that not hypocritical? Aren’t you from Denmark? 👀 I’m so confused
@@diwi5823 They didn't "explore" Miranda's sexuality because it's not part of the character. Cynthia is the real person, Miranda is the character. It's called acting.

Suggest you start with the Cosby Show, #1 rated sitcom for 5 of its 8 year run... wayyyy back in the '80s.
had no idea Willie Garson had passed 😢 loved his character on the show ♥️ REST IN PEACE 🌻
This outfit is EVERYTHING!!
How can Tamron be 51, looks 31…so sad to see Kristen feeling the loss of her friend..😢
Wait tamaron is 51 wow I thought she was 40 👀
She is beautiful! I love this outfit!
I love, love, LOVE the AJLT-team❣️
the 2 black women are beautiful!!
Great interview
💔 TH-camr GATURKS says: My heart broke when Kristen started to cry 😢
I wished the show was more diverse and I think it would have been better so Tamron can say it.
@@jammzy2959 oh please...your not happy the way this series was ruined🤣
I wish society could accept that there are tons of people who only hang out with people their own race and that is cool too.
@Psychology major I didn't really care either, it was still my favorite show. But....the backlash I see and everyone calling AJLT "woke" because there is diversity really pisses me off. I live in NYC....black people live there. I am one and I've seen them with my own 2 eyes.
Her tears are "Charlotte tears".... FOR REAL. ❤️💔💔💔💔💔
🙄
@@jammzy2959 Nope not at all. It was just ridiculous by Miranda of all people to act that way. It must have been her now obvious drinking problem. There is no need in a professional setting to "acknowledge" anyone race or religion or sexuality in a professional setting. What do you bring to table and what can you contribute to team is all i ask of people. Your "blackness" whiteness etc isn't what matters. Race in no way makes me uncomfortable. Diversity has been the norm for me since a child in school.
@@johniii8147 as I said, it's obvious that they exaggerated it on purpose and it's a TV show. Get a clue. P.S. I will acknowledge my blackness anywhere and in whatever setting I want want and the people who are Karens online keep their mouths shut in real life. Diversity has been norm since you were a child? That doesn't mean you like it. In fact you seem to have a huge problem with it Karen.
No offense but I just blocked/muted you. People like you really annoy me.
@@jammzy2959 Your issue not mine.
@@jammzy2959 It wsd the intention of destroying a beloved classic series with a forced and badly acted narrative.
Kristen was a complete Charlotte in this interview. Love them both !!
Sorry for their loss. 😟😟😟
Really miss watching this on a regular!
Had no idea, must watch over this weekend.
TRAINWRECK!
Jade Eshete for diversity. Looking forward to seeing these talented ladies in the show.
I’m so confused
Cynthia is gay. Miranda is straight. Its called acting.
@@diwi5823 They didn't "explore" Miranda's sexuality because it's not part of the character. Cynthia is the real person, Miranda is the character. It's called acting.
@@diwi5823 I guess it is called democracy and freedom of speech…. Fact, Most of Women in America don’t turn successful and rich. Maybe that’s the reason why Sex and the City sitcom is so loved. It’s about the three remaining ladies with their own ups and downs within a world of glamour, style and money.
@Miss Manawaka This whole mess of a trainwreck is a FORCED disaster. Why would they base it on a beloved original series and just create a seperate narrow viewed narrative on the coattails of another failed series. A let down baddly acted and so SO FORCED!
KRISTIN IS A COMPLETE DOLL AND WHEN I TELL YOU I LOVE NICOLE ARI PARKER. SHE IS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT AND IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT FOR THIS SHOW. I AM A NEW FAN BECAUSE OF LTW.
Where can I get Kristin’s beautiful & elegant dress & shoes!!! Always adored her character (Charlotte)
I will always be a huge fan of Sex and The City and now And Just Like That! I love 💗 that I can see wrinkles and gray hair! I didn’t have them when I first went through the journey with y’all but I certainly have them now and love that all of you do to!!!
Ya Ron- THOSE SHOES!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
* TAMRON
Why aren't these clips in HD? The uploads always look hella weird.
I thought Nicole was a perfect addition to the cast. ❤ Will always be a favorite show of mine
Love love love everything about it
They Killed Mr. Big i can't!!!
Thanks for the spoiler!
THEY DESTROYED THE SPIRIT OF EVERY ORIGINAL CHARACTER!...yeah I said it!
They hashed it out? About what? Nicole said about her and Kristin? They didnt agree about something? I love Kristin Davis soooo much🥰🥰🥰
Weird watching Kristen talking about embracing aging, when her face looks like that. RARELY, do I ever see improvement after plastic surgery. But hey, it’s her face.🤷🏽♀️
You could have kept this comment in your drafts.
@@motionsickness9610 And you could’ve kept that one.🤷🏽♀️
@@motionsickness9610 why it is spot on. Shd looks rediculous
Not all.. but a few of those who are unaware of their privilege in society would push the person color back in that ocean once they reached the surface to the boat. Just how it goes.
And they should
What are you talking about?
Love this show
Are her shoes yellow versions of the ones Big gave Carrie?
Yes, the blue wedding shoes. She also wore them in the shower at the time of Big’s demise.
That opening scene all three looked gorgeous - minus the grey. Im with Charlotte on this one
Did you like her big stretched out plastic surgery!?🤤
Kristin Davis has not aged at all
Tamron is 51 years old?wtf I mean I though she like in her late 30s honestly..
Nicole Ari Parker was a terrible choice... how am I supposed to focus on anything else when she's so captivating? Clearly, I'm joking. Love her. ❤️
Beautiful friends, inspirational women
Kristen
Nicole is stunning and Kristen has such a great spirit, but one day I hope we get the point where the new girl is dark skinned with natural hair.
This is a great talk show
I like that red dress/outfit. It's awesome. 💜💜💜
Kristin is so damn sweet I get a cavity each time I see her. I need to call my dentist lol
Nah just a bad plastic surgeon...poooor CHARLOTTE
Kristin Davis: “We embrace it, Tamron” ( says this with a face full of filler, Botox, and freshly dyed hair). What she really meant to say was, “Two out of three embrace it”.
So true! And a butchered duck mouth at that! The hypocrisy is just breathtaking…
Nothing wrong with that. It doesn't mean you stop looking your best.
@@kinndah2519 SHE IS FAAA FAAAR FROM BEST....YIKES!
Who is Tamron?
Un applauso a Nicole Ari Parker 👏 per la citazione di Anna Magnani.
I love my girls Continually loving this show, SATC, & And Just Like That
Nicole walked out like a superstar. Yes yes
I wanna know who Nicole Ari Parker’s shoes are by. They are fabulous.
lol...They would pick someone like Nicole to bring..."diversity" to the project. Good for her though. She still insanely beautiful at her age.
Karen Pittman is in it too
Nicole is considered beautiful at any age.
Why is that lol? Whats wrong with her?
I mean you can't do anything without getting it wrong with someone now.
KRISTIN MY HEART...
I never heard of Kristin before nor have I seen her but good God😵😵😵 gorgeous!!! She looks like tanned Jen Aniston 😳
Better before she plactified her lower face
I can not wait to see it
ITS HORRIBLE!
