That's a nice piece of wire gold you found there. Can't wait to get those black sands, pan first them I'll try to roast it and see if I could get any more out. Thanks bud. There's one piece of gold that looks like a resting lion, that looked awesome.
I use angle meter app on my phone and try to run it between like an 8 or 10° angle and if that doesn't seem like it's flowing fast enough I'll go up to 15°the rpe sluice is actually designed for fast flowing water even know how light it is I kind of wish mine had legs on it so I could put it into the faster flowing water but that's my opinion ✌️
Same. Even this spot has only produced flour for me previously. Obviously I was doing it wrong haha. It’s a shame I learned this just before having to move away. I’ll get to go back maybe 1 more time this next week.
You for sure should meet up with Troy. Sadly I’m moving out of Idaho July 12th. So this will be my last week of prospecting and rockhounding before packing and moving.
Awesome, I miss it and love it. Living in New York short term now and about to move back west to Cali, can’t wait to go get some of that fresh gold this year after the flooding!
Right! My birthday was on July 25th and me, my best friend, and 10 year old daughter went gold panning on my birthday 🥳 if you go little more north of Idaho city it was near a town called Placerville
It’s nothing fancy, now.. I Am going camping for three days in Stanley Idaho this weekend.. so I’m using google earth to map out my panning spots haha. Check out Redfish like!
Most people go to granite creek campground and just pan in the river there. The entire area is massive tailings deposits so it’s all the same. You will see when you get up there. I suggest as you pull into the campground you pull left into that parking lot and go back and left to the end of that lot and the water is another 50-100 feet back. I haven’t been since the summer I made this video but I do miss it. Also be sure to grab the nice garnets. Lots of garnets in the pan not just a little gold!
At the time of filming this, this area was not claimed, nor do I believe this exact spot can be, and someone had just done that with the rocks within the last week or so. There was an active claim that starts and is marked about 100 feet up the river. At least that is what the person who guided us here told us. We went to the BLM office to see if they had any record or public places we could try panning for fun and he also said this spot was very popular. This is BLM land without active claims on it just outside the small town where many people go to pan, but it is right by the bridge before the active claims. I actually had run into many people there also panning on my few trips to this spot. The only other places I have panned were GPAA claims when I was a member. This one was listed as a public panning location on the local tourist attraction sites and such is the way I found it. It is right outside Idaho city in the old tailings piles, if you are looking to pan though I do not recommend this area as it is heavily hit and mostly just garnets around from what most others have shared with me. I have not lived there for a few years now and do not know if panning is still allowed there and would check before going out.. Golden luck to you! Also check out joining GPAA if looking for spots.
@@verajerome5041 there is only really one road through the whole area. It’s been years since I have lived there or been there and you should just check active claim maps before heading out. It’s been so many years and so many claim changes have happened that I would not feel good giving out a spot that may not be accessible anymore. You could do what I did, which was go ask at the blm office where some places are to pan. They gave me this location at first and I later met people panning in the same place that said everything else in the area was claimed up. (There was an active claim 100 feet from me in this video and it was marked and had people that told me I was fine in this spot. But you don’t want drama haha. Or just join one of the prospecting clubs like GPAA and get access to member claims. That’s the best bet. Sorry u can’t be more help, I haven’t been in Idaho in 3+ years.
@@RufotrisRootedRockhound Know where that is. Yes, that spot is set aside for future park and withdrawn from claiming. Ok to pan/sluice. Also IGPA club is good.
Excellent video skills bro. I enjoyed this thanks for sharing
Thank you! I have been putting in a lot of time on editing 😁

Good time out there
That was and I can’t wait to get back to places that allow panning. It sucks out east here. Only have Paydirts to do for now.
Awesome job out there man. Those pieces of gold might not be much but they sure look really cool!! Also that quartz with the mica was really neat too
Indeed and it was a fun day out! Sunscreen wore off and my back burned a bit lol or I was stupid when I sprayed it on and missed part of my back 😋
That's sluice is awesome they work pretty good I have one that I take with me on trips cuz it's very light easy to carry in a pack and easy to set up
Any tips for me?! Did my flow look to low or high? I know it was flowing heavy to one side at some point in the video and I mostly fixed it.

Dude! Good work! Awesome little almost pickers! I've never found pieces that big, mostly load ore and flour in western wa

To heck with the steak. Gold is better. U and troy are my kind of fellers. One of these days this summer will link up with u and we can dig

Nice Bro! Sorry I'm late.
Man I’m behind on so many videos right now. Too many channels I’m subbed to
I live in boise and go up that way panning as well
