    I was there. Having a perfect view of Hannah emerging from the screw U with hands raised in the air after passing Johnny is something I'll likely never forget.

    Hannah roosts them a bit during the interview at 5:25. Always thought that was hilarious!

    I was watching Hannah's rear suspension that was designed by Eyvind Boyesen. As complicated as it looked, it provided incredibly smooth action. Compared to O'Mara's bike Hannah's suspension seemed smoother, but Johnny was just too damned fast and in shape for Hannah to be competitive with him.

    Hannah always rode right on the edge! All the way pinned! He looked likea dish rag flapping off the back of the bike! Watched him smoke the pack at Pontiac a few times!

    I had no idea the Pink Panther raced in the states too, he's a legend. i would have killed to watch this on TV back in the days. We only had magazines in the old continent.

      There is a 1975 30 min cartoon from Charles Schultz, Charlie Brown races a local MX race, and unlike hundreds of games of baseball, he wins. :)
      The vid is called 'your a good sport charlie brown". It turns out that Schultz's kid raced in the early days, so Charles went to a couple to learn enough to make a cartoon. I did not know it existed. I found it a few years ago in a basket full of DVD's at a store.

      Then after the interview at min 3:01, Hannah slows down, and you can see the wife flaging Jakckie Vimond to get Hannah. Fits the interview perfectly.

    Eric KeHoe was doing some good battling with Billy Liles. Great video. Hate what happen to Vimond after the season with the fall and injury at the Paris Supercross. He was a great rider, person and champion.

    The O'Show during the first year of the "FIM" production rule for the USA only,---allowed to run up-side-down forks on his 86 CR. Ya see, it was not because Yamaha did not want to make works bikes or could not afford it like was reported, because they still make works bikes to this day for Europe, like the rest of the factories.
    I say, because team USA won the MXofN 5 years in a row, it was put in place to stop factory development in the USA. The results aim to the truth.
    Bikes tripled in cost in 5 years because of that rule.

    He was being lowered from the ceiling of the Paris Supercross on his Factory Yamaha YZ250 when the cables snapped. He fell all the way to the ground breaking his BACK and Leg.

    This was my very first trip to Unadilla, given the fact that I was coming from Massachusetts. I remember being on the far side of the track just under the pizza stand when the gate dropped for the first qualifier. I remember seeing Rick Ryan's day-glow green chest protector through all the morning fog as he railed around the only tree on the course after his holeshot. I was sixteen years old, and I never felt more alive as I did at that very moment. I was a HUGE motocross fan, and I was a walking encyclopedia because I knew everything there was to know about the sport. My Unadilla experience changed me for life as I never participated in that level of partying before. I showed up on Saturday morning and stayed the weekend on top of the far hill. Back then, they would do a half-assed search of your car for booze and whatever else that was forbidden. We pulled a trick where we emptied out our water bottles and put our vodka in them, and filled the vodka bottles with water. They immediately grabbed the vodka bottles and let us in. My friends stashed their weed in the air filter of the car. Mission accomplished. The rest was history and was the best weekend in my entire life. Now Unadilla is like going to church. Such a shame.

    So, did Omaras mechanic forget to put fuel in his bike…?🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA หลายเดือนก่อน

      No. I don't think so. He rode in a way, a clutch throttle thing out of the corners, (more like a 125, pinned and feeding the power with the clutch.), that uses more gas. Was that a 45 min moto back then for the GP's? I think we went down to 30. I would be surprised if they did not top off the tank before the gate.
