    Better to keep 2 mutual funds, one is nifty 50 and another is nifty next 50. This way one can invest in all listed 100 company's stocks.

    I hardly ever comment, but the quality of this video, the research presented, the tabular data, deserves appreciation. I hope your channel blows up and you make more videos on Index Investing. Recommended topic: Performance of Index funds vs. active funds, adjusted for costs, over 10-20 years. The adjustment of costs was missed in the other video comparing the two.

    • @ETMONEY
      @ETMONEY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your appreciation
      1. Comment more. While it may take you a minute, a few words of appreciation can build weeks and months of motivation in a content creator. And not just a "Good content" .. but a comment which is sincere and to-th-point. Many colleagues ask me for a recommendation on LinkedIn and I put my fullest dedication in writing one because while it might take 5 mins of time, it can lead of years of happiness for that person if a recruiter uses that
      2. Ah, you have a request .. I would have been happier if this was just an appreciation comment :) Anyways, we have 7 videos on index investing in our channel where different elements have been examined. We have done performance, active vs index, tracking error, 9 diff types of index funds, specific indices like momentum, low cost, smart beta etc. Do you have a particular one in mind which we have not covered?
      3. You pointed out that we have missed something on cost. Ah well :( .. "cost" meaning was not quite clear. Can you elaborate the question pls?

    Can you'll add these funds as a special category in the app? I can see categories in Diversification, Market Cap and Sector/Themes but it would be really helpful to see a separate index funds category which is more visible and the other being a comparison between each fund and the category average and index.

    A nifty 100 fair weight Index is much needed which will allocate in Nifty 50 & Next 50 in the ratio of 1:1. We now have a Nifty 50/100 Equal weight Index which I don't personally like because not every company can/should be given equal weightage in portfolio! The likes of Zomato,One97,FSN getting the same weightage as Nifty heavyweights is difficult to digest. For now, the best bet remains to decide your own allocation and invest accordingly.

      Hi. These large cap indices should not be looked at in isolation and should be a part of your total portfolio. Specific to your question, Nifty 500 is also a good index to invest into. You can explore using ET Money's Genius offering invests within the Nifty 500 set of companies and index funds but adds an additional layer of asset allocation and rebalancing which retail and DIY investors generally ignore.

    Good evening sir, Index funds can also be invested in terms of equal distribution like( in nifty 50, we are investing 100 rupees means 2 percent in all 50 companies).
    If so means which is better option?
    Equal weighted or market weighted.

    Sir great video, just wanted to know if our indices too can consolidate like Japan, UK and Chinas indices for 20 years or more?
    Please share your valuable feedback as don’t want to risk investing in indices if this can happen.
