I’ve been wanting to make my own watercolor book. I bought the sheets of paper and a few book making tools but haven’t done it. Your books are the nicest ones I’ve seen on TH-cam. I want to learn to make them like this. I thought you might list the supplies you use… it would be really cool if you made a video book making class. You could charge for it, I’d pay to take the class. Your finished book inspires me to want to learn how to make my own and I want them to look just like this.

As a fellow bookbinder... Only experience will achieve this look, lol. The first few books you make should be with scrap paper until you develop the muscle memory and the instinct for when to pull the thread without tearing through the signature, where to place binding holes, what thickness of thread works for what. They'll be wonky! Eventually it gets easier.

As someone who book binds for fun without proper tools i basically just spent this whole time going ooo im gonna need that or wow beautiful technique. I just kept getting excited over the little things like your pattern for the holes in the signature. Beautiful work !

This has really calmed me and now I feel more relaxed than I did. I thought I was going to have a terrible episode of anxiety tonight. This is the lightness in my dark moment that was needed. That was absolutely beautiful. Thank you for making such a thorough documentary of the process of making an absolutely PERFECT book. I have seen a lot of DIY book binding videos over the years, and they all looked like a great deal of work to produce something highly unattractive, with all of the emphasis put on the sewing of the binding. I loved the way you showed us that each stage of the book making process was equally important and altogether produced a truly beautifully made book. I've been a book lover since I was a little girl...of the contents, yes, but of the books themselves, too.

Hi Chanel i fell in love watching your videos, then decided to go online and purchase some of your beautiful creation's from your Bitter Melon Bindery store. So far I've purchased a marbled bone folder, three different sized memo type pads (signature's all made out of your hand made paper) and most recent purchase ( and in the nick of time, was lucky enough to have been online when you put brand new hand made books to purchase from your online store, you had put the opening time to start purchasing at noon, i purchased my order at 12:45- 45 minutes after you opened open the purchasing time and when i checked back to order a second book every single one was sold out within 3 hours) i purchased a smaller sized hand made gorgeous floral print book. Im in love with it! In the past I've purchased over a dozen book's, notebooks, empty junk journals ( few pages used up from the creator's design's for there take on junk journal signature's), sketch pads etc. And nothing comes close to the high quality craftsmanship that yours have, i can use fountain pens, acrylics, watercolors & gouache paints with no bleed through on the next page. Keep creating video's and your beautiful book creation's.
    Sincerely,
    Gina Barber 😁☮️☯️🌺👍

How amazing to watch you do something that I learned to do as a Librarian Assistant over 40 years ago. We bound a lot of our own books that came in along with cataloguing and shelving them all in the main library. You’re such an incredible binder! Your gift is truly stunning to see the perfection in each book. I just found your channel and am so glad I did. Such a stress free video to watch. No wonder binding helps with stress and anxiety for you. It’s so soothing. I can remember the feeling from all those years ago. Be well!

Also, you could literally make a buisness. Those are so cute! And as an enjoyer of small things that are normally big I think I’d really enjoy that! Plus it’s smaller so can fit in smaller purses or bags, and they’re just so cute and customizable to you hearts content!
