i learned a lot from you and from your videos. i made myself handmade sketchbooks by following your steps. now my goal is to save money to purchase one of your products, thank you!!! pleasee keep making videos, i wish you bountiful life💟
This is the best book binding video I have seen! Beautiful ingredients, calm tutor, well paced, beautiful setting, great instruction and heavenly books! Very mouth-watering!!! Thank you so much. 🙏🙏🙏
I love all your videos and this is another success. I love your awesome sponge glue brush and your gray toolbox and your various fantastic scissors and the book press obvs and the bone folders of course. Have you ever thought about doing book repair instruction videos in addition to ones with your original creations? In any event thank you for all your wonderful tutorials and lovely time with you in your studio
I use a strip of thick waste plastic packaging, the height of my textblock, that I have folded in half length-wise and puched holes into as a punching jig. The holes don’t get bigger with use and I can use it innumerable times. I find a punching cradle helps too.
I simply adore your videos and also the end product. SUCH an ideal way to relax, de-stress and be interested in something creative. Thank you. (How could I buy one of your books? I live in the UK.)
Your videos are so relaxing and charming. Thank you for making them. I love the lamp you brought out when it got darker - if you wouldn’t mind, could you share where you got it? Thank you! :)
Love your work and the videos! One Question: why the extra piece of paper on the spine after the bookcloth? It will never be seen under the end papers.
Hi! I was just wondering about the end pages -- do you use your regular glue for the adhering of the endpages? does that little strip of cloth that isn't the heatnbond/tissue paper side adhere to the paper in the inside jacket? wondering if i should use fabric glue for that part...
En otro video dice que usa un producto que se llama Heat n Bond lite. Yo vivo en los EE.UU y aquí se vende en tiendas que venden telas, pero claro también lo puedes encontrar por el internet.
@@bittermelonbindery When you glue things, you lay them on a white surface, and you reuse that surface. Looks like a larger piece of white paper, but different.
@@JJaynJoan Thank you! That's a good idea. I'd rather put scrap paper in recycling (and not have it hanging around until used) than garbage. I've got some thick, flexible plastic that will work. I'll give it a try.
I noticed that recently you're not doing the knitting needles to make the shoulder, is there a reason for that? I always seem to have a hard time getting it to work properly when I do try.

It was wonderful to watch this quietly without any crazy music..
You are such a perfectionist I love how you take your time and not just throw it all together
You're very talented, I can tell you've put a lot of hours into mastering your craft. Thank you for sharing.
I made some little felt books before. I’m with you that they are so nice to hold. The books combined my love of bookbinding and hand appliqué.
All three are beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
Amazing and so educative. Now I love books even more.

I believe it's a seasonal paper lamp from IKEA!
@@bittermelonbindery Thank you!
What is the weight of your chipboard? These are soooo lovely. Thank you
Is it freezer paper you iron onto the fabric first?
AMAZING!!!!

Love your work and the videos! One Question: why the extra piece of paper on the spine after the bookcloth? It will never be seen under the end papers.
It's necessary for the book structure, the paper acts as a stiffener so that the spine remains as a flat back when opening and closing.

I love your job! you're great. One question, what is the name of the paper you put on your fabrics and where can I buy it? greetings from Mexico

So lovely, what glue do you use? Mine always warps my projects, even after pressing =/
Archival quality PVA glue
What's it called, what brand?
@@VivaLaVaca2010 Lineco is one brand I use
Thank you so much! I one I currently use warps too much. Love your videos ❤️
Hi, what type of machine did you use to chop the text blocks?
Please, what kind of paper is the one you put on the fabric?😮
Thank you for yet another beautiful video! QUESTION: What are you using for the reusable gluing surface?
Hi Margo, which part are you asking about?
@@bittermelonbindery When you glue things, you lay them on a white surface, and you reuse that surface. Looks like a larger piece of white paper, but different.
@@artsymargo Oh it's a scrap piece of thick paper, in this case it's the cover of a sketch paper pad

Not for this design! It was an aesthetic choice, but also the spine is stiffened with cardstock not chipboard, so a shoulder wouldn't form anyway.
Me encanta tus videos, aprendo mucho, me podes decir como se llama lo que le pegas a la tela? Muchas gracias!
Hey y’all can I use normal printing papers for a sketchbook
Can I ask, what are the two different layers of white cloth you put on the spine before adding the cover? Thanks!
It's cheesecloth and a Japanese tissue paper called unryu. I walk through it in my Tools & Materials video, linked in the description!
