Good effort for a first flight, at least it didn't end with a million pieces. As a 40-something dude who has been flying freestyle / acro for 3-4 years now, I find it extremely difficult to fly in standard normal or sport mode, so I don't think it's anything unusual to find the transition back and forth challenging. TBH normal and sports modes encourage bad habits, but I get that they are useful for the very slow cinematic "camera drone" type shots.

I don’t want to jinx it but I’ve been flying quite often lately and haven’t crashed. I’ve been getting more comfortable flying a couple feet off the ground and through some tree lines. I’ve been flying full time traditional gps for the last 8yrs for a living so this has definitely awaken more excitement in me. I also have played video games inverted my whole life so the controls were easy to get use to.

Yes, mine is arriving tomorrow. I don't have any plans to go manual mode anytime soon. I haven't even ordered the FPV RC 3. How many sim hours did you invest before going full manual? Please keep producing this enjoyable series. Thanks for the videos.

I had no plans for going full manual for a long time either because the motion controller is so fun but after using the rc3 in normal mode I decided to hook it up to my Mac and try “Take Off” for fun. I would say less than 10hr in 6 days I decided to try full manual. The safety net is the pause button which I only used when I was ready to land. It’s a progression of learning but the avata 2 allows it to happen quickly. Enjoy the process especially with the motion controller. I still use it for tight areas.
