Superbly filmed. Really enjoyed it. Would like to see more of the yard branch in operation. It's nice to see the shunting sequences properly documented.

Andy, thank you for producing a superb video of my layout. You have found some interesting angles to film from and I particularly like the close up and low aspect filming, something you rarely see in the small snippets of video that most people take. From my point of view it is a pity there isn't a little more of Rancoutt's yard and an appearance of the mineral train but hey, you have shown many of the other trains which frequent Much Murkle. It is good that you've shown the operating as it is, warts and all. The odd train that comes to an abrupt halt is a result of not checking that points are set correctly, but at least it alweays happens in front of the signal box where we can claim that the driver has stopped to exchange a few words with the signalman!! I enjoyed the chat with you on the day and hope to see you with your camera again sometime. Regards, Nick

@@finthehuman9791 most of the rolling stock is kit built or altered ready to run items. Kits have been collected over many years and may now only be available on Auction sites such as Ebay

Very nicely shot and good lighting. It would be nice to have some narration, or subtitles describing the activity. Adding canned loco sounds would be another nice touch of realism to accompany the birds.

Thank you Blue Ridge Bonsai. The canned loco sounds are something I looked at but not many UK sounds available royalty free unfortunately although I will keep looking

Very realistic, and don't forget no trains are allowed on Sundays during Church hour. We always used to say on the Southern, that the Great Western Railways timetable went by the Moon Phases, rather than the village church clock !!!

Is the layout still in existence or has it been broken up?

As far as I know it is still in existence and available for exhibitions. I haven’t been able to attend an exhibition where Much Murkle is to video more of the cider house which is sadly lacking in my video. There is a comprehensive build thread with photographs and comments on RMWeb

    What couplings do you use?

right at the end, you show what looks like the conversion. or rather scratch build that was done a while ago to make the Clifton Downs auto coach set. Am I correct or are my eyes deceiving me

Hi Kevin, I couldn't say about the Clifton Downs auto coach set but if you look on RMWeb.co.uk for Much Murkle you may find the information there.

Hi Kevin. Yes you are correct, it is a Clifton Downs set kit bashed out of Ratio 4 wheeled coaches to some plans that were in Model Railway Constructor magazine back in 1960’s.
