A short session on a local pond throws up a few big surprises using my new MTX4 V2. A few tips for fishing maggots on the long pole in winter and a few thoughts on the pole itself.

Great video Ben glad to hear your on the mend.i had a walk round there last week when it was frozen solid -gin clear and very weedy.used to fish it years ago had some good bags and nice to see the chub are still there.there used to be some decent tench as well.lets hope Leeds ac get the weed sorted as its a good venue for kids to wet a line.onwards and upwards .

I bought the 13 metre package (with 3 extra number 3's) - I am using my mtx 3 V1 14.5 section and 16 section, havent fished with it yet but set it up in the garden at 14.5 and its a good pole for sure. There was some doubt in my mind due to avarying reports but with all the MTX gear I have already got, it would be ridiculous to start a new pole range, more so when you can get this pole for the price i got it for. Dont be fooled folks this pole is good at 14.5 metres and stronger than the v1 range..!

Nope I don’t. Look at the scales, shape, upturned mouth. See how It also came straight to the top, flapped and wallowed all the way in=Typical ide. Hybrids scrap like anything.
