Actually, he trained against Steve so much because of these bad memories. Now he can defeat almost Japanese Steve players so I want him to take a revenge!
Gluto said he now prefers to travel in Japan for these reasons : 1) the level of players et diversity of characters 2) he is less tired of jet lag than is US West coast 3) he prefers Japan than US for the "side event", when he loses in Japan he can profit of the city, country, food, tourism so it's good for him. In US, it's not like that, you don't really have the possibilities to decompress. And because travel is tiring and expensive, we'll see him less in US than before.
void is actually wrong here (for the first time probably ever for something involving this game). On the waft parry game five, Light doesn't go for a short hop or full hop up air like the commentators say, it was actually an accidental Instant Double Jump- if you look closely, you can see the jump effect. He definitely was trying to do double jump rising up air, which would have probably been a true punish, winning the game, but double jumped too fast and got IDJ up air. So tragic.
does landing that parry make the hitbox on wario go away? Cause wario also has a rising hitbox during the move that light might have been looking out for
@@connor.d.l it's definitely not the first time. Void is extremely good and has great intuition, but he's not precisely knowledgeable about the game. For example, he didn't know that shield comes frame 1 or that staled moves become less safe on shield until way late into the game. Don't get me wrong, he's stupidly good and has amazing neutral/understanding of the way the game should be played, but he's not an encyclopedia of knowledge like some other players usually are, he's been wrong often about specific details
That parry on the waft was BALLSY These two really delivered, Light had a great comeback and Gluto didn't let the losses impact him. Great gameplay overall
21:20 acola had parried waft before at Umebura 10 winners finals against Gluto I don't know if the casters are just glazing light or if they're genuinely ignorant of this fact
It's a bit of both. It's the commentators job to make the scenes that happen within each set feel like a spectacle, so if something as rare as parrying full waft happens, they'll say "no way nobody has EVER done this before??!!?!?!?" And at the same, it's a little disrespectful for one commentator to say "wow look at this thing" and then another one reply back "well um actually..." and if you say it too confrontationally, it creates tension on the comms seats where the other guy constantly feels they need to be oned up by the other comms who may be knowledgeable. Just some insight for you, it's useful to understand the persective
What a set! As close as it gets, and some amazing moments. Full waft parry? Check.
Jab lock waft kill? Check...
These guys always deliver.
jablock half waft wouldnt even connect without the lil jump he did on full waft you just have to stand there and press down b
Smash has been missing Gluto these last few months, but I get that he doesn’t want to travel 7 hours just to lose to Sonic, GnW and Steve

Parry full waft?!
I didn't even know that was possible
Late-game Ult is looking crazy
@@Léon-x3c Agreed. We get to see players making these crazy reads after they've spent years learning how their opponents play. It's so sick
So easy
@@silverjeyjey4054 Kurama did that at the last summit. On Etoiles stream.
Hadn’t seen Gluto in a hot minute but his gameplay is looking hella clean.
Light looked more shook from landing that parry than Gluto did
20:49 - PARRY WAFT ON LAST STOCK??? Light is crazy!
That was fucking insane
Man light always pulls off the craziest and riskiest parries and spot dodges even when on last stock game 5.
Gluto vs Light huh ?
I wonder if it's gonna be a super cool tight set with godlike interactions...
This is the true smash bros I love this guys bravo 👏 amazing job

Probably due to how much stun. Rip

6:22 that was a gassy combo lol
I always stop chewing my food when watching Gluto fight
Holy shit bro, the parry that shook the world
gimr i think you should wait for the video to process in hd before uploading it
It's been like that for years but I understand wanting it to be out as fast as possible
HD problems aside, I love seeing these two fight. One slow approach and another fast approach.
I love seeing Warion vs Fox so much
That punish in game four by light lasted so long
"Gluto is a monster with half waft"

Light had no chance against Spargo if he won this match. Let’s see what gluto can do.
6:20 textbook commentator’s curse 💀
Either one losing was going to be a serious choke no matter how you looked at it. Amazing set.
