This is Christina Superstars Biography, and it’s only on Retro Room. Christina was both friend and subject to videographer Nelson Sullivan. Christina portrayed by Marilyn Manson in the 2003 movie Party Monster. Superstar was crowned, by Michael Alig as his first 'It Girl" in 1986.

So much in here about Christina I never knew. And to think most would never have known her at all if not for Nelson's documentation of that whole era. I'm so sorry he's gone, and that much of his work is still not available. Stories like Christina's are more important than ever, as shown with the recent tragedy in Colrado Springs. Thanks for all you do.

Hey I didn't know how to get you this info, so I will just put it here as comment. There is a PODCAST called THIS IS LOVE "Episode 57: Nelson's Camera" which just dropped today 12.7.22 is about Nelson. Not much new info although Fenton is interviewed in it along with a few others. It is a sweet remembrance. I miss having new videos put up since the death of Dick Richards. Maybe we can press Coddington to start doing it again.
I think you just blew my mind. Not only are Christina and I the same age, but we both attended The Art Institute of Pittsburgh at the same time! I probably passed Chris in the halls. Also, I lived in the neighboring town of Bethel Park and Mt Lebanon were athletic and academic rivals. FYI it is pronounced Mt. LebaNIN and not Mt LebaNON (as one would think). It is also a pretty affluent upper class community. Many doctors and lawyers and upper management types lived in Mt Lebo (the Pittsburgh nickname) since it was just close enough to the downtown to not be a ridiculous drive on the daily commute. Also, I don't believe Mt Lebo was part suburban and part farms. It was way more citified than Bethel and we had no farms left within the community by the early 1950's. Christina lived in what I would considered a pretty privileged life, in a very well-appointed suburb. The question I have is I wonder what she was doing between graduation from high school which most likely would have been 1972 and the time she went to Art Institute? Wow haven't checked your channel for years as you didn't update anything years ago. I last checked in 2020 and binge watched everything all over again but the Christina Superstar uploads reached me the most.

You also inspired me to work on my own video, I’ve been researching it for close to a year now, and I’m in the process of putting it all together. It’s going to be about Dainty Adore O’Hara. It’s going to include a lot of information that is currently unknown to the Nelson community, for example Adores birth name and where the name Adore came from, as well as some unseen footage. I can’t wait to share it.

@@Ilianafaith_ It still goes, I’ve managed to find most of Adores life story, but I’m stalled on the very last part of Adores life. Adore moved to a desert town towards the end, and very little is known about this time, including how Adore died. Adore disappeared from the lives of all his/her friends, so it’s a bit of a mystery. Me and another nelson fan have been trying to get in touch with Adores family, we have messaged them but have yet to receive a reply. But if we can’t get in touch, I plan on just finishing the video as is and hopefully people can finish the last of the story in the future, if further information is discovered.

Excellent biography. I became enchanted with Nelson and Christina's friendship and all the videos of them together on NYC. That is such a nostalgic time as I was experiencing the club scene in Louisiana in the 80's. Every time I see Nelson's videos I always wonder what I was doing at that moment. The video with Christina, Nelson and Lynn is my favorite to watch and just listen. Thank you so much for these retro room videos on Nelson and Christina.
