    I always appreciate these vids. I have not been a particularly handy person my whole life but these vids to inspire me to try and I find that once I see the process it just isn't that hard. At no point are you ever talking down and typically God gets the credit and the glory for it all. I appreciate what you do.

    Just want to say thanks. Your vids have encouraged me to get my hands dirty under the hood, save me money and make me twice the shade tree mechanic I ever thought I could be.

    I just bought a 1978 dodge Tioga II sportsman motor home that is all fiberglass panels on the outside and as far as I'm concerned your videos are a must watch, I have to replace the muffler because of a leak, I gutted the interior and I'm in the process of removing all the windows as well as the trim strips and resealing them after cleaning them up from past calking hack jobs (note to anyone looking to reseal camper windows, an eraser wheel will be your best friend at removing any old calking and a small wire wheel for a drill is great at cleaning up the window frame of old butal tape inside and out)
    your videos on the project are so helpful, thank you so much for the tips and instructions for when i start to clean up the engin

    nice tidy job! The chrome tip not only adds coolness,but increases aerodynamic efficiency and reduces drag,thereby increasing fuel mileage.

      Thanks brother. I was also thinking that chrome reflects solar energy and therefore making the camper easier to cool in the summer. It's simple science!

    Thanks for the motivational Video! I have a 1990 1500 series GMC Jimmy with a muffler hanging. But I will check out the whole system from engine to tail pipe. Guess I'm going to have to get a camera too.

    Nice job on that manifold. We had the same van with the 440 block & my Pops used JB Weld to fix the manifold leak, which is the cheapest route. You are going the extra mile on this project, as you do on all the DIY projects I've seen you do.
    Can't wait to see what you do with those valve covers. Imho, there's nothing like a motor with good looking valve covers. It just makes the motor look so much better, even if it's not.

    remflex makes thick gaskets that work wonders if you ever get a manifold with rust pitting or a bit of warping. I have used them several times with amazing results.

    • @Yankeeprepper
      @Yankeeprepper  10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I have see guys double up on gaskets with badly warped manifolds and have success as well

    Very nice.. I had no idea you were working on an RV. I am restoring a 1987 VW westfalia and doing a diesel conversion. I should have followed you. The price of redoing a vanagon westy could pay for gas in your rig for a long time but I love the hippy buses and this is my third one. Hope all is well with you and yours? I will follow the series.. Cheers..

    Great video YP. Also, I'm really enjoying the AeroPress. Anyway, I've been watching your videos and was thinking as to how you store all your kit. Maybe a video on storing and staging gear/kit. Semper Fi!

    Hi, love this series of videos! We also have a 1978 Minnie Winnie with the Dodge chassis. I am not having luck with a part I have been looking for, looking for the turn signal switch like you had to do. I ordered one from rock auto, but the connector is not shaped the same, and also has an extra wire. I looked at 1977 parts, but there isn't a turn signal switch listed under 1977. Can you help me out with the part number you ordered? Appreciate it!

    Have you considered installing headers or do you want to keep it as stock as possible? I have a 1978 Dodge Sportsman 360 Chinook 20' and I'm considering adding headers and perhaps converting to 4 barrel. I just don't have the time yet.

  • @MartinLopez-ys5dm

    Would you put headers on a 440? I have a bad crack on passenger side exhaust manifold.

    I have the same RV. Question. There is a tube that wins from manifold to manifold at the back of the engine. Pass side of tube has a nasty crack and the driver side of same tub looks to be purposely crimped. Should this be replaced? Parts place doesn't even show a part. Also thanks for these killer vids!

    • @Yankeeprepper
      @Yankeeprepper  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      hmmm....as a general rule I replace parts that are cracked, if you are asking my opinion on what to do....I would figure out what the tube is for and what it does. That would help you make a clear decision on what to do with it.

      ***** yes but you do have a drink with friends on occasion,and your presence would have added to a fantastic couple of days. we had deer stew,raccoon, a whole pig, no one drank from straws or wore flip flops. maybe next time?
