Yes the launch is great. Quicker off the line than bmw’s or other cars with much more power. I have tested this at a car meet. At like 50-60 kmh they pass you but the launch is great.

I was not blown away by interior quality, but the engine is very reliable. Most people do the chain preventive around 150.000km. Do a proper testdrive and feel the DSG, they should feel smooth as silk. Lack of oil changes damages the mechatronics and plenty launch controls damage the differential inside of the gearbox. Rest of the car is pretty decent and build strong.

Foot hard on the brake and then floor the accelerator. Then release the brake and for a millisecond nothing happens and then it launches.

It's a factory setting. Even the VW Caddy's have it mate.
2008 passats dont have it
You need a 2009 or higher model passat. May need coding but should be factory
