Great to see this has been corrected, just been researching up on the JSA 2007 as well, and found there are codes of practice for use and they do require reasonable suspicion to search someone under Section 24, and they do also, where practicable, inform individuals as to why they are stopping and questioning them under Section 21. It also says they shouldn't generalize, it also says to only use Section 24, where there is reasonable suspicion that there is a risk to life or property, and that on all counts they need to take in to account the Human Rights Act, such as the Right to Privacy, Article 8, and Article 10, Freedom of Expression, e.g the right to film in public, so, next time PSNI try to use JSA on you, make sure you inform them of the Code of Practice for JSA 2007, and have a read up on it yourself. Our laws are a wee bit different to the mainland. Even Scotland is a bit different to England and Wales. It needs to be Nationwide laws that applies to us all. Simple as that.
