He’s not a scumbag. Honestly he’s just the inexperienced boy we all used to be at some point in out lives, some of us just learn faster or are exposed to the way things work sooner than others. He’s an average guy that has little to no relationships or experience in them and doubt he knows how to be successful with girls. Lots of guys go their entire lives simping for women or going about trying to get them the wrong way because nobody tells us the correct way to get girls, it’s always the ‘just be nice and be yourself’ bs but that is just the bare basic minimum for anyone. Everyone has to bring something to the table in a relationship (albeit guy’s typically need to complete harder to get anywhere) whether it be a skill set, attraction, money, influence, social standing, or you share many interests/goals with each other that can grow you closer. It pains me because I see some of my former self in this poor guy and the brain dead mangaka gives him ZERO development and personality other than ‘horny college teen with a good heart’. This season he had so much growth potential and was actually doing something besides blowing loads into tissues everytime Mizuhara said hi to him. He was still hard simping but man was putting in effort for that girl.

Glad so many are in agreement that as terrible as the series is and as embarrassing and boring as the MC is its not enthis fault he gets no wins for the sake of the ‘disney romance’ story continuing. The concept honestly had some good ideas and therevare touching moments in this but it’s executed so bad 🥲

I’d say it doesn’t start going really downhill until after THE date. The arcs after that are a descent into darkness with some hope at the moment

I lost my grandpa a year ago,as his casket was being lowered into the ground I burst into tears like I hadn't done in a long time.
That scene made me cry, and I'm sure the last episode of this season will too T-T
Say what you want about Rent-A-Girlfriend but this is definitely the best moment of the series.
