Prayer is a unique training and developmental program which, if well and devotedly performed, can achieve for a Muslim many valuable spiritual, physical, and ethical gains.
Salah is the daily ritual prayer enjoined upon all Muslims as one of the five Pillars of Islam. It is performed five times a day by all Muslims. Salah is a precise worship, different from praying on the inspiration of the moment. Muslims pray or, perhaps more correctly, worship five times throughout the day:
· Between first light and sunrise.
· After the sun has passed the middle of the sky.
· Between mid-afternoon and sunset.
· Between sunset and the last light of the day.
· Between darkness and midnight.
Each prayer may take at least 5 minutes, but it may be lengthened as a person wishes. Muslims can pray in any clean environment, alone or together, in a mosque or at home, at work or on the road, indoors or out. Under special circumstances, such as illness, journey, or war, certain allowances in the prayers are given to make their offering easy.
Having specific times each day to be close to God helps Muslims remain aware of the importance of their faith, and the role it plays in every part of life. Muslims start their day by cleaning themselves and then standing before their Lord in prayer. The prayers consist of recitations from the Quran in Arabic and a sequence of movements: standing, bowing, prostrating, and sitting. All recitations and movements express submission, humility, and homage to God. The various postures Muslims assume during their prayers capture the spirit of submission; the words remind them of their commitments to God. The prayer also reminds one of belief in the Day of Judgment and of the fact that one has to appear before his or her Creator and give an account of their entire life. This is how a Muslim starts their day. In the course of the day, Muslims dissociate themselves form their worldly engagements for a few moments and stand before God. This brings to mind once again the real purpose of life.
These prayers serve as a constant reminder throughout the day to help keep believers mindful of God in the daily stress of work, family, and distractions of life. Prayer strengthens faith, dependence on God, and puts daily life within the perspective of life to come after death and the last judgment. As they prepare to pray, Muslims face Mecca, the holy city that houses the Kaaba (the ancient place of worship built by Abraham and his son Ishmael). At the end of the prayer, the shahada (testimony of faith) is recited, and the greeting of peace, "Peace be upon all of you and the mercy and blessings of God," is repeated twice.
Though individual performance of salah is permissible, collective worship in the mosque has special merit and Muslims are encouraged to perform certain salah with others. With their faces turned in the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca, the worshipers align themselves in parallel rows behind the imam, or prayer leader, who directs them as they execute the physical postures coupled with Quran recitations.
Although not religiously mandated, individual devotional prayers, especially during the night, are emphasized and are a common practice among pious Muslims.

How To Focus in Sallah..
Every step in sallah, remember what you are doing is for Allah..
1. When standing, remember that you are reciting the holy Quran.
2. When you rukuk, you are praising Allah and Allah is watching you..
3.When you sujud, you know this is the best part of sallah, Allah love your sujud.. Remember Allah..
4. When sit between sujjud, rember that you are making a dua to Allah..
5.Another sujud, remember that Allah like your sujjud.. Complete the 3 times praise.
6. And so on.. Every step follow with remembering what you are doing for Allah.
This will help you concentrate and you will have a peaceful mind after completing your sallah.. InsyaAllah.

I converted to islam on May 11, 2017. Before that day, I attended christian church to seek happiness. I was happy, but only when I am at church or bible study for 5 years. I met muslim friend who inspired me just by his simple view in life with guidance of Islam. And I was tranced with joy whenever he and his friends greet me with Assalamu Alaikum. Such a beautiful greeting. I read the Quran, to find some truth and guidance, much of which makes more sense to me than the bible! Then I practice the 5 prayers daily in private, and sensed a deep connection with God, more than I have ever felt in the 5 years I been in church.
And I felt I converted in good timing. I have chronic depression and anxiety. The 5 prayers a day is the reason I got out of bed and help me calm me from these negative feelings. Allah Akbar!!!
Dear Brother David Lopez Jr. first of all I admire your method of approach in understanding Quran and Islam. And I am sure you have read in the verse (2) of the chapter Al Baqarah (chapter cow) that Quran Karim is the only Guidance book from Allah (s.w.t). And according to the verse (3) of Al Aaraf, and (55) of Al Maida, and verse (23) Al Insan/Al Dahr Muslims are forbidden to follow other things except Quran Karim, even if it is said that; that piece of information is from Allah (s.w.t) or the prophet (s.a.t.a.w.s) and other believer of Islam who perform Salat, Zakat and genuflect. And According to the verse (44) Al Zokhrof, Allah (s.w.t) interrogate people based on Quran Karim.

Once again I congratulate you for accepting Islam and I pray to Allah (s.a.t) to bestow to you the proper knowledge of Quran Karim and the ability of acting based on the ordinances of Quran Karim.
So far Hadith is considered Quran revokes Hadith as follow:As you know Muslims should believe to Quran Karim. One of the most important criterion of believe to Quran Karim is to perform in accordance to its ordinances, verse (17) Hood. Now: after the coming of Quran Karim, the formation of sects and groups and dissension among the Muslim has been forbidden, verse (105) Aal Imran. And as you know: Sunni, Shia, Shafi, Hanbali, Maliki, Zaidiya, Zakiriya... are all different sects in Islam. And Allah (s.w.t) has promised great tribulation for such people.
In the mean time we learn from this verse that; Muslims should immediately solve their differences based on the ordinances of Quran Karim.
According to the verse (33) Al Fossilat, the best word to Allah (s.w.t) is; to invite people to Allah (s.w.t), perform good deeds and to say I am from Muslimeen.
The next important point is: Quran Majeed revokes Hadith as follow: Note: The format for representing the reference verses is as follow: (Number of the chapter: number of the verse of this chapter)
According to the verse (69:40) together with the verse (61:2, 3) the speeches and deeds of the prophet (s.a.t.a.w.s) were based on Quran Karim. In addition to this; according to the verse (7:3) together with the verse (76:23) and verse (5: 55), the Muslims are ordered to follow only Quran Karim and they are forbidden to follow other things which are not from Quran Karim, even if it is said that, that particular piece of information is from Allah (s.w.t), or from the prophet (s.a.t.a.w.s) and the Momeneen who perform Salat and Zakat and genuflect. Then based on these commands of Allah (s.w.t), someone can say that: all the speeches, the practices and sermons of the prophet (s.a.t.a.w.s) were all based on Quran Karim and no other source.
Now attributing other things to the prophet (s.a.t.a.w.s) is calumniation to the prophet (s.a.t.a.w.s). The person who slanders lies to the prophet (s.a.t.a.w.s) their place will be in the hell.
Now: the important point for the Muslims is they do not know the method of performing Salat from Quran Karim. To understand this, go to the following site:

I've been on this video every day for over 3 weeks and I haven't missed Salah. I always miss Fajr (except today), and I make it up in the morning. Always perform Salah, regardless of how you feel or your sins. Do not miss prayer if you can help it and always make it up if you do. Because, Allah has been blessing me so much recently. Mashallah.

@@CWCFan_OrangeNinjaim in a similar position to you. it's helpful to recite the surahs alongside a audio recording / recite them from a piece of paper while reading. you could also listen to an audio recording whilst practising your prayer, which i haven't tried.

Asalamualaikum Emanuel welcome to islam, a piece of advice from me is to remember the prophet said Whoever maintains reciting ayatul kursi after each and everyone of the 5 mandatory prayers nothing would prevent him from entering paradise except death. So learn ayatul kursi it takes around 20 seconds to recite it but it has a huge reward.

2 years later update: Umm so I’m an ex Muslim now. That’s crazy I can’t believe this was what I said 2 years ago. But around this time I was trying to become more religious so I started to learn more about Islam and the prophet and I found myself disagreeing and questioning the religion more and more eventually I decided Islam didn’t add up with my morals and values so I left. To determine if belief systems are wholesome or pernicious, examine their practical effect. If religion is judged by its end results, then Islam is the worst major religion.
How so? Very simple. Out of the billions of Muslims in the world (living or dead), NOT A SINGLE MUSLIM has made any original contribution to any aspect of MODERN science or indeed any other empirical branch of knowledge IN THE MODERN ERA (The modern era started in 1500). If there were only Muslims in the world, we could not have this online interaction. Islamic backwardness is almost incredible because Persians & North Africans used to be far ahead of the West and only became backward once Islam became entrenched. By 1500, Mohammed's poison had brought the "golden age" of the Muslim world to a complete halt. On the other hand, the West which used to lag behind them became synonymous with modern civilization during the Christian era.
I do not claim to fully understand why Islam has such a catastrophic effect, but it may have to do with the so-called FIVE PILLARS OF ISLAMIC RETROGRESSION:
1/ SHARIA: (especially 3 aspects of the Sharia - Polygamy, Subjugation of women, & Second-Class citizenship of non-Muslims). Each of these 3 aspects is disastrous. Polygamy distracts men, discounts women, and divides children. Female subjugation renders half the population impotent (if Marie Curie had been a Moslem, we would have no X-Ray in any hospital!). The practical effect of the enforced Second-Class citizenship of non-Muslims is that Islamic nations can never have true peace.
2/ MOHAMMED'S EXAMPLE: There is a great difference between Christian iniquity and Muslim iniquity. The Christian is disobeying the example and teaching of Christ, and so can be called to repentance. On the contrary, when Muslims engage in slavery, rape, murder, genocide, pedophilia, looting, oppression, feudalism, forced conversion, honor-killing, fascism, intentional deceit (taqiya), etc they are following the personal and repeated example of Muhammed and so cannot repent, because there is no higher standard to hold before them. That difference is at the heart of the problem with Islam.
3/ ISLAMIC FATALISM DISCOURAGES PROACTIVENESS
4/ ISALMIC LOW VIEW OF HUMANITY: Islam rejects the three key doctrines of Christianity which have the indirect effect of raising human dignity, namely:
(a) The Fatherhood of God
(b) The Incarnation of Christ
(c) The In-dwelling of the Holy Spirit
5/ REJECTION OF THE CROSS - Therefore, no theological basis for God-man or man-man reconciliation (necessary for peace and harmony).

just read and memorise quran slowly, try to remember certain suras like al fatihah to begin , then maybe nass , this is what i have done so far , revert of one year here , also shahada and various phrases like bismillah and allahu akbar , allhamdullilah etc. good luck and may the peace and blessings of allah be upon you , inshallah you will learn like me , long journey to the straight path , salam .

Hi my brother/sister(no offence intended: I just don't know what AG stands for🤷♂️). Anyway, you probably found out more by now, inshaAllah, but incase you haven't, these are obligatory acts of praising and worshipping our Creator at set times five times a day, while performing certain movements, eg While standing you recite the opening chapter of the Quran, followed by any other chapter or verses; while bowing you say "Glory to my Lord Almighty" which is "Subhana rabbi al atheem" in Arabic. While prostrated with your toes, knees, palms, forehead and nose on the ground you say "Subhana rabbi al a'la" or "Glory is to my Lord, the Most High." These are all done facing the qibla (direction of the Kaaba relative to your location). At the end you pray for peace and blessings for the prophets and all the righteous servants of Allah, and testify that there is no other god besides the One Almighty God, and that Muhammad is his prophet and final Messenger. May Allah grant us all guidance, wisdom and understanding 🤲

Google all the mosque near your area,there is Aziziya Mosque in Stoke Newington Rd and further down the road past Dalston is Suleymania Mosque. And there is East London Mosque phone them and see if they have any lessons for reverts. There is also IERA they do courses for reverts. Get phone number from Google. sure what do u want to know. if you have taken your shahadah. that is you accept and believe that there is no god worthy of worship except one GOD ALLAH and prophet Muhammad PBUH is his last and final messanger. the next step is now you should learn how to perform 5 times a day daily prayers known as namaz.
after that you can get to know about the remaining pillars of ISLAM. which are roza(fasting), Zakaat(charity) , hajj (pilgrimage to makka).
To my best of knowledge I approve this video as correct sunnah way to perform Salah, I am not scholar or expert but born raised in Islam 37 yrs old. Thanks to the uploaders.

Masha Allah... Take it easy. Surah fatih Is main part of the prayer. All in time, next Memorise, surah ikhlas 112. Very virtuous and Very easy to Memorise, In Sha Allah. don't over welm yourself. This is the religion of ease. :)

according to this saying of the prophet (pbuh) you are allowed to pray only reciting the fatiha if its all you know.
Allah is merciful, compassionate and all knowing , so Allah knows you are sincere and your prayer is valid.

It is not fard (obligatory) to recite a 2nd surah but it is a sunnah (practice of the Messenger of Allah that you should strive for). Try starting with the shorter surahs at the end of the Qur'an. The more you practice, the easier it will be, inshaAllah. Just remember that Salah is ALWAYS in Arabic. You may make dua to Allah in any language and the best time to do that is when you are in sujood (protrasting). May Allah continue to guide you. Ameen.

That who ever pray 12 Rakah Sunnah , Allah will make Palace in Junnah (Haven)...
So if someone pray 12 Rakah Sunnah everyday, Allah will make Palace in Junnah (Haven) for That person everyday...
2 before Fazar prayer ( morning prayer )
4 before Duhar and 2 After Duhar
2 After Maghrib
2 After Isha

I am catholic and I just converted Muslim or Islam and this 24of Jan was been totally one of Islam.. now I wanna start praying but am a bit confusing let's say early morning u need to prayed 2rakah that means as you prayed repeat twice from the first beginning to the last twice the meaning of 2rakah??? pls guide me brother iam really keen to start prayer since I am really Muslim now...

+maria dvitales hi the pray of fajr begun with 2 rakaat ,you do the rakaat with sourat fatiha +another sourat (small sourat) ,you repeat it in the second rakaat ,after this you end the pray with tachahud,after you close itwith salam oulaykum .but this pray is the fajr.you must wait for a moment ,and you should msut it in rent di allh ,and invocations ..after you mst do anoter 2 raklaat calld the subh ,by the same way,,
totally ,in the subh you have 4 rakaat ,2 of fajr and 2 of subh...

firtly,you do you're ablution (WOUDOU°)
2-youkeep into the kibla
3-you do the takbirat alihram with saying allhu akbar.
3-you read sourat alfatiha ,whan you finish it ,you read anothe thing from quran,another small wourat or a few verses from a longsourat,anyway justwhat you can,its very easly,.
4-you say lahu akbar and you acomplit the roukou3 with sayin subhan allh aladim,......
5-like this and you dou the soujoud twice.
6-so you 've finich 1 rak3a
7-you do the same thing with the socn rak3a.
whan you finsh it,you must do the tacahhud at the last,with sayn:tahiyatou lilahi ,zakiyatou lilahi ,salawatou wa ,taibatou lilahi ,assalamoualmou alyaka ayouha anabiyou warhmatou lah ,assalamou alyna wala ibadi lahi salihin,ashhadou an lalilaha ila lah ,wachhau ana mohamadan rassoul allh,generraly ,you can say jut what you can,and with thetime you ill learna it inchaalh.
8 afterthis you do the salam,and with tis you will getout from slat,and you finich theslat alfajr
so ,you should wait for a few of time ,like 10 minute or 5,as you can,you spend in istighfar,or read the quran ,ortasbihh....
and you do 2 rakaat of subhh,this the obligation,the subh is obligation ,but fajr it a suna notoligation,so you do it with the same way like fajr ,and you finchwith e tacahud and salam at the end.
