Bonnie Langford hasn’t changed in 40 years

I remember a segment devoted to computers in this programme. The intro was a basic wireframe car going down a vector graphic road with a tune called "Dervish D" by Vangelis playing in the background. It was the best part of the show.

Goodness, Bonnie's daughter will be 20 this year; it only seems 5 minutes since BL herself was 20. As Tears for Fears said, "TIME FLIES!"

OMG, I remember this show. Tommy Boyd had already presented The Saturday Show with Isla St. Claire at this point, and I think this show replaced No. 73. Used to be a Captain Sensible fan back in the day, and so proud he's from nearby Balham. I think Bonnie was just a teenager when she presented this show. And I had a crush on Tommy in those days...don't ask.

Well that comment took an unexpected twist at the end. :-) You're right that this was Central's successor to The Saturday Show, though The Saturday Starship ultimately only got one series across 1984/5. I'm pretty sure No. 73 would have had series broadcast either side of this.

@Stephen John Parker I've always liked her; to me, she seems to be the epitome of femininity, and I don't know of anything that she's done wrong. Cringe-makingly, in 1984/85, both my dear parents preferred that silly, spitting dog (Bob Carolgees' sidekick) to the lovely, fairylike Bonnie. I'm glad opinions aren't always inherited!

Captain Sensible would have made a good "Captain Carter" if there'd been a live-action remake of Star Fleet; and I'd cast Miranda Richardson as Commander Makara.

To be fair Saturday Starshit would have been a better title.

Broadcasting Standards may have had something to say about that, though.
