@@solarflare9078 The upsides on the Genesis/Mega Drive are the opinion of a 4:3 or a 8:7 stretched to 4:3 aspect ratio, the "water" palette being flexible (though Toy Story didn't use this), much more effective horizontal interupps (think like a in Labyrinth Zone where in the water the non-sprites ripple), very neat sound chips and a faster processor. Oh, and Master System support. The SNES Trumps the Genesis on literally everything. It has actual transparency effects, a much wider colour palette, bigger VRAM, full degree turning for background layers and sprites, and of course, the SPC sound chip. If something produces a sound, the SNES can use it, but probably in a low quality to save space. You could emulate the feel of any song because it's a sample based chip, and the YM2612 and SN(I forgot the numbers) are no exception. Oh, and Mode 7 support can emulate horizontal interupps, and the SA1 chip (not Sonic related) gives the SNES games that use it more processing power then the base Genesis, consistent clock speeds from production, the list could go on for a long time! So, which ones better again? The one with a flexible "water" palette, or the one that doesn't rely on crappy video signals for transparency and details? Personally, I'm still gonna use the Genesis hardware and those crappy composite cables to push it to it's absolute limit, because that faster processor does give more room for improvement over the SNES, but the SNES is the better one by a large margin. And if that 8:7 aspect ratio is an issue for ports, then it's the original game designers fault for not considering the SNES is 8:7, because as I said, the Genesis does indeed have the opinion for it
One of the hardest games I played back in 2010. I was 7. And just seeing how much the genesis could handle nowadays is still astonishing. I thought this was a PS1 game.
Man, I remember maybe up to the claw machine. Definitely remember struggling to find all the green guys. Nothing else after that is familiar except the race and the skateboard guy. I think those were in the demo from letting the game sit. Holy shit this was a hard fucking game.
Jon Burton's explained in his Mickey Mania playthrough that he made his games hard on purpose to "kinda" extend the length of games and prevent them from being beaten easily
I finished this game as a kid, but nearly lost my sanity. Those RC Car races gave me nightmares, you could lose all your lives there... And to add insult to injury, the final level is just mean, after all you have been through they drop you into an all or nothing race.
In all the years I've played and finished this game, I never realized that the pre-rendered Buzz at 4:40 was mirrored down the center. Notice that the buttons on the chest plate are mirrored and he effectively as two arm lasers as a result :D. I'm guessing it was mirrored down the center at run-time so it used less memory.
Woody did have a nightmare about Andy throwing him the trash can which was originally meant to be used for the first Toy Story movie but it was scrapped and Pixar put in the second one instead.
This game is harder than X-men Clone wars 2, Vector man, Streets of Rage 3, Maybe even Aladdin. Toy Story was in a class of it's on with it's hard difficulty correct me if i'm wrong but it may be even harder than Earth Worm Jim
Not taking hits means losing a lot of time. Just go through many of the enemies, or even take an instant death after touching a checkpoint will save some time.
Wow I never beat this game. I was close as a kid. Id always get to the final rc part then die or simply play something else. Not a favorite but cool to see.
@@bonniethehedgefox9139 the pcm (voices, drum samples) quality of the Genesis depended in compression entirely. Some games had better pcm quality than toy story, and others terrible.

As much as I enjoyed this game as a child, it doesn't change the fact that this was hard as hell.

The Lion King
These graphics are insane for the time
There was never any doubt that this could be done on SNES, but for the Genesis, it's impressive af.
Spicy Bread Productions The Mega Drive was more powerful than the SNES. The SNES port cut down a lot of stuff.

The hitboxes to get hurt are actually really tiny for the most part. The game "peaked" in difficulty with Sid's room. Claw machine was a pain though.
Millions of kid gamers never could finish this game what were the game designers thinking?

like the movie this is damn impressive
Hey remember when Woody had to face Nightmare Buzz?Didn't think so.
Christopher B. Not in the film.
Unused scene
Remember when Woody was riding Rex through Andy's bedroom to escape from the other toys getting revenge on Woody?Didn't think so.
There was a similar scene planned to be in the movie but it was cut.

man this game was hard as fuck
LOL @ the first person level. They even used the Doom door sound effect.
And it looks like wolfenstien, not doom

Una obra de arte este juego
De hecho, el arte de este juego es increíble para un juego de los años 90.
Game so hard even the TAS is taking hits

I love that the designers referenced The Doors & Elton John for the last 2 levels. :)
