Does dodging the rain while putting on your jacket count as loitering 😁 well done on the ride, looked like some lovely roads, at least the rain was on the homeward leg.
You don't even break sweat do you. Big respect to you. However you misjudged that weather. It was forecasted to be coming in from ghe southwest, which it did. It caught you out without the right gear in my opinion. You're a hard man.
You are correct in thinking that Maer is associated with Darwin.🙂 I assume this was on Sunday? We were on the Tour Of The Berwyns starting from Duddon, Cheshire. The forecast was for heavy thundery downpours later in the day, so we were trying to make sure we got back ahead of the downpours. As it turned out a pothole in Chirk finished my ride (completely knackered tyre, wheel ok, thank goodness), but my riding buddy managed to get back just before the rain hit. It's a great route if you fancy trying it, but it does have a fair bit of climbing in Wales.
It was the same Sunday as your Berwyns ride which I've looked at to ride in the future at some point Sorry to hear about you being unlucky with the tyre , but at least your buddy was lucky getting back before the downpour hit. Yes! that Darwin liked to keep it in the family . 😉
Sue the council for the damage to your bike. If everybody sued the councils for the damage to their vehicles caused by these god awful roads then the government and the council would start to maintain them.
@@MrChippiechappie I am tempted to be honest. At the very least I think they have to repair them if reported. The poor state of the roads really takes a lot of the enjoyment out of riding at the moment.
Great vid again Bob. I know I've asked you before, but what is the camera mount you're using? I've got an onboard one and the images vibrate like mad - even with the horizon stabilisation feature enabled.
Thanks Russ 👍 The mount is the official Gopro handlebar/ Ski pole mount. I've tried the ebay ones and they're cheaper, but they rattle. I use a Gopro 9 on 1080hd , linear setting with horizon lock and stabilisation on. I don't use the boost. Hope this helps
@@Bijou-Bob Thanks mate, it helps massively. I'll have a look at my settings and check out that mount. The wife will hate me for buying more gadgets 😂😂
Thanks Ian 👍 It's a Giant Defy advanced 2 , which is on the Shimano 105 . I've swapped the the wheels and Crank to some Hunts alloy and GRX . I also use a alloy cannondale synapse
Nice one Bob, shame about the rain… cheers
You know how it is with the weather Nigel 😉
Great video again and very inspiring
Thankyou Jez 👍
Great to hear you liked it

Stopping to put the rain jacket on isn't loitering , but is dangerous as it could lead to it if you're not careful 😉.
@@Bijou-Bob Yep, thin end of the wedge.
Yes! it's a slippery slope alright 👍

The downpour was that heavy that
I don't think any gear would have kept the rain out

Great ride Bob. I'm trying to guess what model bike your riding. Is it a Giant Revolt ?
Thanks Ian 👍
