Driving in Norway 2 - Lysebotn - reason to ride

Motorbike trip to southern and central Norway in July 2022.

Remember to refuel your vehicle along the main road before when you ride to Lysebotn. There is no gas station on the road fv500 to Lysebotn. And not in Lysebotn either.
Lysevegen and up towards Hunnedalen is only open during summer, normally June to September. Lysevegen, road fv 500, to Sirdal goes through 27 hairpin bends up one of the mountainsides and is 29 km long.
Lysebotn has camping, cabins and several Bed & Breakfast places.
Kjerag Lysebotn Camping is in a truly wonderful location. Directly in front of the fjord. A nice, beautiful place. Lots of travelers, so at least the cabins have to be booked in time.
During the summer, the tourist ferry departs from Lauvvik and Forsand to Flørli, Songesand and Lysebotn. The express boat goes in to Lysefjorden all year.
Remember to book ferry tickets in advance, I didn't do that and I couldn't get on the ferry.
