This Man was just gone too soon and we sure did loose a good one and how I do miss him dearly and he sang so good and I will always love "The Note" and "I let her lie". You did Good Country Music and Singing It and you were a Original At It To! 12/19/24
Nobody has ever covered George Jones any better either. I always feel a little guilty about usually liking Daryle's version of various oldies better than the originals.
Voice of an Angel....Daryl, Keith Whitley, Tracy Lawrence are 3 of my favorites....yes there's many more Greats of traditional Country music..Sadly Nashville abandoned them all...Now we have mostly wannabe, mumble rappers or rockers who think their Country
I never was fortunate enough to see him in concert. It was always a bucket list thing for me. You got to hang with him in his House!?! Very cool! See ya on the other side Mr. Singletary!
Absolutely 1 of the best voices ever to do REAL COUNTRY. Amazing he stuck to true country and didnt go down this b.s. rap country they do these days. R.I.P.
He was borne the day after my daughter, same year. ❤ Sure love all his songs ive heard so far. RIP. Hugs to all his family as i lost another daughter in 1978., his voice is just beautiful to me
It's makes me sick to think this man did not enough faith in himself..........he was such a talent. I am so sorry for his passing. He had incredible "chops" but I understand the illness. He's with Jesus now and happily singing with all the Country greats gone before. But I still cry when I listen to him sing.
Honestly this man had such a huge rich deep voice it would be hard to beat!!! Why do we lose the really special people,,,, RIP Daryle,,, you were loved by soo many people!! ❤️❤️❤️
We've lost another great country singer who stuck to his guns and held up the tradition; thank God we had him while we did! RIP Daryle, you will be missed but never forgotten!
hello. i just found out about Daryles death. i know its late but i only discovered him singing with rhonda vincent recentley. great voice. very nice soul. r.i.p.
I had the privilege of meeting Daryle at a show in Georgia in April of 2017. I had the best time that night. Me and my posse were at the stage waiting on the encore (pretty drunk) yelling, “Dim Lights! Thick Smoke!” They came out and played the encore but didn’t play Dim Lights. No matter, the show was great. RIP Daryle. You filled those shoes and then some.
He always greeted me with a huge smile on his face and signed my guitar and other items. I will always cherish the time we had with him and will miss him dearly! RIP Pal
It's such a shame that there's so many out there who believe that the garbage they hear on the radio "now" is actually country music & by believing & listening to that they miss "the truely great traditional singers we've still got" but of course because of "the murder on music row" with each passing year we lose more traditional singers & heaven only knows "who's gonna fill their shoe's" but of course 'you have to know what that means before you can try it'. Asked by George Jones & still waiting to be answered. Tho we have had great singers like Daryl Singletary. One of the few remaining great traditional voices heard by traditional country music audience's & Daryl took great pride in his traditional country sound & often said: "There are still people out there who want to hear traditional country music ; i've been very fortunate to be able to always keep it real & not compromise." Just as Keith Whitley,, Vern Gosden "Chisled in Stone", the Hag, "Okie, the fightin' side of me", etc. Johnny Paycheck, "the old violin, Cowboy Prayer, take this job & shove it" & others who were blessed with this sound & who are No longer with us ; You, DARYL SINGLETARY, will be missed in the months & years to come. You'll be missed when The Note, i let her lie, The old violin, Amen kind of love, & many, many others are heard playing on radio's, cd's, & stereo's near & far, or when someone is huming them or others. I will be one of these who'll be huming & singing along with your songs when i play them or the radio does. I count myself very lucky & blessed to have fallin' in love with your voice & to have been able to listen to you, Countrys Family Reunion. etc... THANKS FOR MANY BEAUTIFUL SONGS & MEMORIES.......
@Kate M. Robb,You just expressed very eloquently exactly what I was thinking and I didn't have to do all that typing. You did it for me. Thank you so much. BSP
Stevie i sill love looking at this tribute video on a regular basis. This represents what Daryle wanted to achieve and how u enjoyed being part of his life as a manager, a friend and his drummer. Tks so much for making us know meet him in Canada. I will treasure my radio days and interviewing him. Prob my greatest moment in that career. Even better than meeting Jones in Bouctouche. I have a hard time understanding why the good one does this and i want answers when my town on earth is over. Rip Daryle Singletary.
A lot of our great country singers are gone! We had to accept it when Merle went and George and well there’s to many to mention! But when daryle went I struggled to accept it! I though about it for quite a while and just couldn’t get over it I felt he went far to soon as did Keith but he passed a few years before I was born! I’m 29 this year! I bet some of you feel old now? Lol
A great singer gone way to soon
This Man was just gone too soon and we sure did loose a good one and how I do miss him dearly and he sang so good and I will always love "The Note" and "I let her lie". You did Good Country Music and Singing It and you were a Original At It To! 12/19/24
This old hillbilly boy from Tennessee loved ❤ the music of Daryle Singletary
This ol backwoods NC boy did to!
I'll never understand why Nashville gave up on traditional country music and artists like this and so many others.
It woke. My brother was a songwriter and producer, Blake Mevis. Country isn’t country anymore.
Only him and Johnny Paycheck could do justice to the song "Old Violin "
Fact
Nobody has ever covered George Jones any better either. I always feel a little guilty about usually liking Daryle's version of various oldies better than the originals.
