Thanks! Definitely more mellow for my first visit, since I was scoping out the area, but yes, great spot to get dirty. Glad you got to experience it also. See ya on the trails!
Great video. A tip on the gearing. You don’t use 4LO unless you are going to cross a water crossing / going through mud or climbing a steep hill. Once you pass the water crossings you need to go on 4HI.
I see, thanks for the tip! Since I kept a pretty slow speed throughout the ride, I presumed I stick to 4LO & 2nd gear (MT). Come to think of it, went to another OHV area & based on the path, we continually switched from 4LO to 4HI (& vice versa). Thanks again!
@@likal1 yeah, you could have even gotten away with 2WD with those conditions, but yeah, stick to 4HI unless its really muddy or climbing something steep.
Cute vid and welcome to the Jeep world. Someone mentioned Holcomb Valley but that can be a serious trail for a new driver in a stock Jeep. Definitely want min 33s and lift. I’d HIGHLY recommend Cleghorn. If you’re near Azusa, it won’t be far (15-20 north of the 15/215 split). It’s just a fire road with many offshoots that range from mild to wild. Do your homework or go with someone that’s familiar. The offshoots let you only do what’s comfortable while still learning. Further away is truckhaven (Anza Borrego) which has a legit learning area with various obstacles.
Thanks! Holcomb shows to be beginner level, but of course, I'd definitely research trails before visiting. Cleghorn was fairly decent when I rode along a while back, I'll take my Jeep there soon. I'll put Truckhaven on the list, thanks so much for the suggestions!
Every so often, not as much as I'd like. Ah, lesson learned! Keep a steady speed on waterways & slight acceleration on inclines. This OHV spot is so much fun, glad you got to experience it!
Seen so many vehicles break down there.. take it slow and smart and watch other people get stuck and broke! It had a nickname for breaking trucks I can't recall.. . Eric Underwood Class of 81 Downey High school CA ✌️
Awesome! About 18 psi, but it may not be necessary to go that low since there isn't much rock crawling there. I've learned that 4LO is for the water crossings & boulder crossings, and the rest is 4HI. It's pretty level at Azusa OHV, so enjoy the safari cruise. Have a great time there!
No plans to make any changes soon tbh. Stock is perfectly fine for me. Eventually I'll upgrade to AT tires and possibly color match my fenders, but I don't plan on extreme adventuring that needs major mods. Have any recommendations?
@@likal1 no I don't have one lol. I did however lifted my Honda element and put all terrain tires. My little put put has taken me to Anza borrego and Trona pinnacles and I haven't got stuck anywhere. ✌️
Azusa is a nice. There is a nice mexican restaurant in Azusa called La Tolteca, its a good place to hit up after. There are also a lot of awesome places to explorer in southern caifornia. You should try some trails near big bear or even hungry valley, great views and fun to get to know your jeep.
Yup, great spot! Pepe's is also great to eat & watch the returning off-roaders. I agree, so much trails to explore and looking forward to those to come. Hungry Valley was intense, but a great learning experience!
Wow I been there so beautiful the AZUSA RIVER so beautiful. Thanks dear friend. God bless you
Yes! Plenty of access to the bountiful waters 🏞.
Awesome vid and great tunes 🌽
Thanks!
Awesome 👏 you look like a professional 4wheeler for first time excellent 😊
Fun video!! Great place to wheel. First time there recently also.

Good job!

@@likal1 Truckhaven gets packed on weekends! If you can make it on a weekday or make it an overnight, you won’t regret it.
How often do you trail?. I went my first time and I got stuck in one of the river crossings haha I went to to slow and stopped on the incline 😅 lol

@@devildog1168 Sure is! I've heard of Lyttle, but have yet to visit. I'll check it out some time, thanks for the suggestion.
How much air did you let out of the tires?
I drive at 37/38 PSI and air down to 17/18 PSI.

Of course! I take it easy and watch everyone else go crazy. Last Sunday, there were a bunch trucks getting stuck & needing a pull. It was great!
@@likal1 Good for you! Yup...I used to have a blast just watching people down there ...
Happy Thanksgiving!✌️
I’ll be going in this weekend! How much do you deflate your tires too? Any tips too

Next one has to be Holcomb Valley 3N16 beautiful off road trail
I'll put that on the list, thanks for the suggestion!
I was just there today , almost got stuck in some soft cliff
The soft sand sure is deceiving. But awesome, I'm sure you had a blast!
Try Santiago peak
Via maple springs
I'll check it out! Thanks for the suggestion
Omg hi Lika I have a few pics of your jeep at azusa
Hi, haha nice! Got me chillin' in the background huh
You should go a day after it rains. More fun
I sure do!
Hi !
Hi Manny
is there a trail here, or do people just dick around in circles with their jeeps?
No, It's more wide open terrain to safari cruise and get muddy! Also, set up picnic and watch the big dogs play 🤙🏽
