Brilliant video to finish off a great series! Not only have I learned plenty of welding tips and tricks, your whole fabrication method and workshop attitude is brilliant! It's a rare combination to find someone as skilled who can articulate it and pass your knowledge onto others the way you can! Thanks for being a great teacher!
Jody, thats a sick table man. Absolute craftsmanship. I appreciate all of your "tips and tricks," you've really helped me become a better welder. Also, grabbed me one of the tig fingers, cant wait to put it to the test back at school. Great job, and thanks!
You’re a bloody good bloke mate. Thanks for taking the time to show us some of your ideas and making the effort to record and edit it all. I imagine it must be time consuming 😁 All the best 🍻
Great video as usual, thanks for sharing. In the event you want to increase the suction you can also just below your flat bars place multiple inverted angles (like an upside down v but widen the bend angle) with about a one inch gap between them and it will still divert the sparks and create a greater suction on the table.
I made a similar plasma cutting table from a 55 gal steel drum with removable slats! I love it but yours is sweet with fume extraction!! You gave me some ideas to mod mine some more!
That turned out good Jody, good job. We have the wall mounted version of the Miller fume extractor and it works good for welding, not so good for our cnc plasma cutter. I'm thinking on making a downdraft for it, then it would work better.
I notice at 6:53, you use a clamp on the tubular steel section of the frame that you originally intended to have covered in sheet metal. So your mistake worked out to be fortuitous in the end?
Jody, top work as always. Could you do a more detailed video on TIG Silicone bronze? I have MIG brazing wire (.8mm) that I have had great TIG success with on DC- at low currents, but I would appreciate a video from you on how you do it. I have tried 'regular' brazing wire on DC- but the zinc content makes it so unpleasant to use. Cheers from the UK
Nice video and good work. To ensure that the plasma bench works AND provides adequate control ACGIH provides a design guide that will give you the correct air flow rates (both down flow and duct transport velocities) of this type of application. Also, you should use extraction to remove the fumes when building this bench - protect yourself!
Don't have the space for a welding table either!! Just been measuring up the shed and deciding how much crap to throw out and make space, found a few extractors on ebay... hmm it might just fit :-)
How quickly does the filter in the fume extractor get filled up using this setup? I think this is great but those filters are really expensive. Have you thought about incorporating a water table?
i draw a cutting table like this one without the fume extractor thing on a 3D program for my work! I will use some of your trick to get the job done ! thanks for your video it help me a lot in my work.
I remember when I first saw this video and thought that a plasma cutter was only for professional metal workers. I bought an everlast plasma cutter a few years back and now I regret not getting one way sooner.
I really like the whole concept looks great bro glade to finally see it complete and see tht it works fantastic so nice job and can't wait to see wht ur ganna get into next. Later bro
Great vid man! I think i might steel your idea for the table. I am forever moving out side to plasma cut. I even have some exploded spots in my nice concrete floor from hot dross hitting it. I honestly don't have money for a fume extractor but i might use a high volume electric fan via tube to the table to hook to my garage door exhaust vent hole to at least vent some of the fumes outside.
+TODD FINK I've been thinking about doing the same home-brewed thing you are. I can only afford to buy an everlast plasma cutter and a decent air compressor. Nothing left in the budget for a fume extractor but maybe a high volume fan and some fire resistant tubing to the outside. I can make the table.
+Kellie Wood I set up an exhaust fan with some flame resistant tubing to pull smoke to the outside from my everlast setup. You don't need anything too fancy.

ALWAYS use ventilators and respirators. Metal particulates and metal/gas fumes are the final realm of safety welding culture is realizing. I work for a millwright company and I don't know a single old-timer welder who doesn't have some disease or disorder that could potentially be tied to long-term fume exposure. COPD, Parkinson's like tremors, neurological issues, various cancers.
"more and more safety conscious...hope it's not too late." Amen Brother, right there with you.

Thanks Jody for taking the time for the drawings, fantastic project. Chris.👍
Nice trick on the vise handle, I like your tip of wrapping the stranded wire around to keep the splatter off the threads. Liked and Subscribed.
Hey buddy, excellent video and very smart idea to reduce pollution by toxic smoke in the workshop, thanks for share it.
Jody: Thanks again for all your great videos, this one again was a great one. you have taught me more about welding than anyone,
Thanks
Bob

I've got to try that on the home-made extractor I have on my everlast plasma cutter. Thanks for the tip.

Jody, this was really a great idea and something everyone could use. Thanks again for a great video and being a wonderful instructor.
Great project. I just got my first plasma cutter and this will be my starting project! Thanks for sharing and thanks for your work!👍
VERY NICE! The lack of gussets on the handle is the is the only flaw i see as a potential problem.
Nicely done. Thank you for taking the time to make us a video of the project.

What a generous offering!!! Learned soooo much, thank you!!!
This looks like a really good idea how has is been working for you
I was starting to think about making a DIY'ish extractor fan; this might be a great concept to incorporate into that. Thank you.
I like that table extension idea. Thanks!
I wish everyone made videos as good as you.
Could you make a video showing how to set the plasma cutter based on the material and the size of the material?
I've got to get myself a fume extractor for my everlast plasma cutter. That would be so handy when I don't want to open the doors to my garage.
Yes, Jody, I too would like to see how you weld bronze cus I can't do it to save my life lol!.. oh and how about cast iron?
That's really nice, wish I had the space for something like that, be nice when having to do a ton of grinding, hate all that dust!!
Jody, thanks for sharing all your expertise and experience ~ best welding channel on YT...
Superb! That is a great project and looks like it works VERY well with that powerful FE.
Cheers,

I've got to make myself an extractor for my powerplasma cutter. That really would be a sweet setup.
Don't have the space for a welding table either!! Just been measuring up the shed and deciding how much crap to throw out and make space, found a few extractors on ebay... hmm it might just fit :-)
Could you hinge the extractor port on the top edge so you can flip it out the way when not in use.

Great Project! Well done!!
Will you be at the EAA Air Show in Oshkosh end of July? Hope so...

Jody, I have recently discovered your videos and you are very informative thanks for the info and keep the videos coming, David

probably not gonna make Oshkosh
like the copper wire trick! cool. many employers don't believe in fume extractors (cough, cough)
I could use a good fume extraction unit when using my everlast tools indoors.
Jody now thats its been a few months do u use it ?
Another great video!
Thanks Jody
Beautiful work. Very smart setup!
Amazing table man!
It looks like you used some sort of substance on the corners to seal the box. What did you use?
Nice work Jody, those downdraft tables sure do save a boat load on clean up time. What is the CFM rating on that Miller?
Very cool table buddy
I really like the whole concept looks great bro glade to finally see it complete and see tht it works fantastic so nice job and can't wait to see wht ur ganna get into next. Later bro
Nice design, well-built!
Very nice Table!...Good Job.
Very cool Jody, thanks for sharing.

you have a lot of great tools
That's some really nice work !
I like that idea. Thank you for showing it.
Unfortunately fume extractors arnt suposed to be used with plasma smoke
User friendly came out sweet!!!
thankyou for sharing very good job
Great Table thanks for the video
very nice job
Well Done, Nice Job.....I Like It...!!
Thanks for sharing.

always good stuff thanks
Excellent!
awesome job!!!
real nice man!
nice
Damn those fume extractors are salty! About makes ya go ahead and price a lung transplant instead (if there is such a thing)!!!
