If you haven't seen the violet evergarden movie do not read this
I'm now realizing if violet would have listened to gilbert and stayed at the tent for the final war gilbert wouldn't be alive in the movie like violet saved gilberts life,
If she didn't cary him to the stares he would have been completely dead he would have been shot more than twice and have the entire structure Collapse on him. She sacrificed both arms to save this man and he doesn't tell her he's alive
