Headphones or earbuds are necessary for Queen’s studio recordings. They experimented quite a bit with sound and how to enhance the music through use of techniques such as panning

Welcome to the world of Queen 👋🏻😄 This song is a timeless classic and a masterpiece. The band is Queen and the lead singer is Freddie Mercury. He was and still is a legend. He passed away from AIDS in 91 and he's so missed 💔❤ There bever was and there never will be anyone like him again. He's considered by many, me included, to be the greatest vocalist of all time.
Everyone in the band wrote songs and they all wrote hits. Freddie wrote this one(genius) but he never said what the song is about. There's theories that it's about him killing off a part of himself and embracing him being gay. But we'll never know 🤷🏻‍♀️
The rest of the band is Brian May on guitar, Roger Taylor on drums and John Deacon on bass.
Please react to Somebody To Love LIVE from Montreal 👌🏼

Queen is a British rock band created in 1971 consisting of 4 musicians:
Freddie Mercury - Lead vocalist and piano
Brian May - Lead guitarist and singer
Roger Taylor - Drummer and singer
    John Deacon - Bass guitarist
Don't take the lyrics so literally. Freddie Mercury (who wrote the song) tends to writes in metaphor. Some believe that this song was Freddie's attempt to come out as a bisexual/gay man which was really shocking for 1974 England. (Until 1967, the Brits still had laws against homosexuality.) Freddie never discussed the meaning of the song with anyone, even his Queen bandmates.
Queen never explained the meaning of their songs perferring that the listner define the meaning for themselves personally. Freddie did admit that Bohemian Rhapsody is actually 3 different songs he had been writing which he couldn't seem to finish. So he just put the 3 of them together, adding some transistions and bridges and it became this masterpiece.

Listening to Bohemian Rhapsody is like being on a musical roller coaster. Amazing fact about Queens' lead guitarist Brian May. He was actually working on getting his Ph.D in astrophysics when Queen was formed. Music meant so much to him so he put his doctorate on the back burner. After Freddie Mercury died, Queen disbanded. Even while still part of the group Brian and his father designed and built a new kind of guitar. Brian's IQ has been measured in the 160's. That's even beyond Big Bang Theory smart. So he was a real genius on top of being a musical genius. after Queen disbanded, Brian went back to working toward his doctorate. He finally got it in 2006 or 7. He's now Dr. Brian May Ph.D. He's also written about 6 books on the subject of astrophysics.

Fantastic reaction! It is great how you understand, the art of this song. Queen is actually the 4th best selling artists of all time. They were just far more popular in Europe then in America. Bohemian Rhapsody is often chosen as one of the best songs ever written. And Lead singer Freddie Mercury is often chosen as the best vocalist and performer of of time. They were often chosen as the best live band, Freddie Mercury had amazing energy. If you enjoyed that I sure you would also enjoy the White Queen live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975 th-cam.com/video/f8usNj4x9NA/w-d-xo.html or Somebody To Love live at Montreal 1981th-cam.com/video/aA2IRoPFIn0/w-d-xo.html.
Bohemian Rhapsody is written like an opera aria, it is the story of someone commits murder and then gives himself over to the authorities. The middle section is a trial between heaven and hell for his soul. The song goes through the 5 stages of grieve, he get angry at his lot and then he accepts it in the end.

Some fun facts about Queen: All four members of the band have written #1 hits (the only group with such an achievement) and are all members of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. All are college educated; in fact guitarist Brian May has returned to college for graduate studies and now has a Ph.D. in Astrophysics, but still tours as Queen with drummer Roger Taylor.

@@ValenciaGamble - Bassist John Deacon had a first class honors degree in electrical engineering at only 19 and was the youngest in band. He invented a special amp (out of stuff he rescued from the garbage) for the guitar that has never been duplicated until recently reverse engineered. He wrote several of their biggest hits (Another one Bites the Dust and You're my Best Friend and over a dozen other songs) but was very shy and reluctant to sing although he did sing back up in live concerts.
Roger Taylor studied biology and Freddie arts and graphic design.

That's Freddie Mercury. He was born in Syria, grew up in England. He was one of the first gay rockers to come out, and he unfortunately died of AIDS in 1991. I believe he was the best front man in R&R. You have to listen to his LIVE show in Montreal in 1981, SOMEBODY TO LOVE , or the Live Aid concert with David Bowie, a benefit concert for AIDS research. They also made a good movie about Queen(that's the band's name) this past year. Excellent!

You really must see the movie! Also, the first part is all Freddie Mercury, the lead singer. 5 layers of his voice. You're referring to the old barbershop quartets. Freddie is an exceptional vocalist & musician. He's singing @ a troubled person struggling . In reality, he went on to sing some opera in the late 1980s. Very successfully. You can research it all on Google & TH-cam.

I’m a huge Queen fan and I’ve heard this song my whole life. But that’s me. I know plenty of people who just don’t listen to this type of music and aren’t that likely to come across it.
It’s not nearly as ubiquitous as a song like We Will Rock You which is harder to avoid.

Valencia Gamble no problem. you probably do know some other songs of theirs. (Maybe We are the Champions or Another One Bites the Dust, for example.)
I’ve actually seen some fellow Queen fans claim that reactors saying things like, “first time hearing Bohemian Rhapsody” are lying. Which is a ridiculous thing to say.

Omg yes I do know “we are the champions” see there are songs that I’m sure I know by them but this was just not one. “We will rock you” and “we are the champions” are played at sporting events and commercials etc. Unless I missed it I’ve never heard “Bohemian rhapsody” played anywhere. And I know people don’t know me but I don’t think it’s that serious to lie about it. If I’ve heard it or if it’s sound vaguely familiar I’ll say that. It’s best to be honest about it people will love you better for it. Unfortunately the ones who lie probably get more views but that’s life 😔. This channel has opened my eyes and my mind to music that I’ve never heard but needed to hear!

    • @DSBac
      @DSBac 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@ValenciaGamble I'd say you're spot on in your assessment of the ubiquity of those songs. For sure, We Will Rock You is played at virtually every sporting even I've been to where any music is being played and even sometimes just by people in the bleachers. You hear We are the Champions at some point after any team wins a major game, title, etc.and in other instances.
In my experience, I mostly hear BoRhap at home, on classic rock radio, and maybe I've heard it playing in some random store here and there. It has been featured in movies, but most notably Wayne's World and the recent movie of the same name.
But if someone is only of a certain age or if they only listened to country or hip-hop (I've known plenty of people like that - nothing wrong with it) or they live in outer Mongolia or something like that their whole life, it's pretty easy to miss a song like BoRhap.
I really don't think reactors are lying when they say it's their first time hearing the song. I mean, is it possible any of them are making that up? Sure, it's possible, but I wouldn't automatically assume that. That would be presumptuous and foolish.
Anyway, your Queen (and other artists) journey going. They are fantastic on multiple levels. :-)

You really need see the band Queen performing live. The lead singer, Freddie Mercury, was a huge Aretha Franklin fan and wrote “Somebody to Love”, styling it after some of her work. The live performance in Montreal 1981 demonstrates why Queen is the best live act band and further solidifies Freddie Mercury as the be front man ever. You are thinking of a Barbershop Quartet...and please...get some headphones and listen to this again. Oh yeah, the album is called "A Night At The Opera" which explains this song.

That first part that shows all four is really just one person with layers and layers of harmony, so that part is all Freddie. You are thinking of a barbershop quartet, but these harmonies are much more sophisticated than barber shop which I also like.

A lot of music nowadays just doesn’t hold up compared to the legends of yesterday. The old masters of Rock, Rap/Hip Hop, and even Pop are untouchable compared to the auto-tuned, soulless, packaged in plastic for your protection artists and music now.

I know Valencia reviewed this 2 years ago but I just watched her watching it and it was fun. But what I’m wondering is…. Do these young kids ever consider how (forgive me but) boring their music is today? I’ve heard many reviewers say how great our music is but, how do they think we view their stuff today?

I can’t recommend enough to listen to Queen with earphones or earbuds. Especially for Bohemian Rhapsody, because they pan the sound from left ear to right and back again. This is a legendary song, and it broke everyone’s preconceived ideas about rock music when it was released in 1975. I was 16 years old and I was captivated the first time I heard it. Three years ago at a Green Day concert, they played this over the speakers during a break and the 60,000 people in the audience sang it! 60,000 people all knew the words to a song released well before they were born. It was absolutely incredible. Here is the link if you’d like to listen to it. th-cam.com/video/cZnBNuqqz5g/w-d-xo.html. Queen, unlike most other bands, were actually better live, in no small part due to the lead singer Freddie Mercury. He had such charisma on stage it is hard to take your eyes off him, and so devoted were his fans they would obey his every whim. He could conduct them like they were his orchestra. Two very good examples are Under Pressure and Love of my Life, both live at Wembley Stadium 1986. I loved your reaction and respect to the song, so I’d love to see you react to more Queen. Another highly recommended is Somebody to Love live at Montreal 1981. So amazing. And just as a side note, you mean a barbershop quartet..the guys in the red and white striped shirts. Those harmonies in the beginning were all Freddie, who has a 4 octave range but the high Galileos were from Roger Taylor the drummer who had a range almost as good as Freddie.

You heard Queens Music but you probably didn't know it was there music you were listening to. You have to listen to their music with headphones there's a lot more art going into the sound. It's a different experience. React to: We Will Rock You, We are the Champions, Another One Bites the Dust, Somebody to Love, Love of My Life, The Show Must Go On, Under Pressure, and You're My Best Friend.

The singer, Freddy, was making this song in the 70's. He was gay, that ime for his motger and family a big problem. But he choose to just face the truth and be open, to not die... and be free. He was a poor shy guy. But he choose to go his own way. 1991 he died of aids. But he was a big musicisn. He wrote a song with John Lennon, from The Beatles.
