    I haven't heard this in ages. Insanely good how Elfman manages to fill over 2 minutes of music with just one 6 note motif without getting boring.
    Beethoven would have been proud.

      @@toddfrombethesda6963 Unless you need a million mic positions I’ve been quite happy with BBCSO CORE. Not as flexible, but gets you 80% of the way there at 1/20th the size. I tend to prefer Jake Jackson’s mic mix anyway, so it works out well for me without consuming all my hard drive space on esoteric mic mixes I’ll likely never use.

    I can only say that you have achieved a realistic result in your mockup. The BBCSO is one of the best libraries along with the "Symphonic" series. You have even given a considerable dignity to the strings, which is where libraries tend to fail the most, especially, although this is not your case because you hardly notice that it is a sample. @GeorgeSoulas  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alontrigger it is a very difficult library to work with, but it has so many possibilities. Spitfire always offer great samples and the various mic signals are phenomenal. A great choice if you want a more orchestral sound. So many great great patches, beautiful strings and woodwinds, singing legatos and lots of articulation. For me, for its price it is definitely a great choice. Especially if you buy it with 40% offer discount. But again, it's on your taste. If you want something bigger, epic and cinematic sound , this library is not the appropriate.

    I know people go on about how library doesn’t make the composer. But never state that the composer is what makes the library, and if the library isn’t up to sctratch, it hampers the composer. When truly talented people get there hands on a library like this, they create literal god tier art. When given say BBCSO discover, they are slapped in the face with limitation. I disagree with the sentiment that limitation helps creativity, that maybe true in sound design and synth work. Not when we are talking about orchestral sample libraries.

      @GeorgeSoulas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi. I'm so glad you liked my mockup. Unfortunately I don't give my projects but I can give you a tip for bbcso brass. In order to get the epic brassy sound, I use the cuivre patches, lightly layered with the sfz patches to get the attack I need. I find this works pretty well especially with the horns. Also I play with the different mics to get a more ambient tone which is great for the brass, except the trumpet staccatos which I used the closer mics to make them sound tighter. As you can see in my video I intentionally show some mic balances that I found them work properly for the track. Hope I helped you as much as I could.

    • @YeahBan
      @YeahBan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GeorgeSoulas Thank you and I understand. There's no other way but to layer the microphone's balances or patches. I'll give it a try. It's so weird to split the patch like that in the first place. I would appreciate it if you could at least tell me about mic balance mentioned at the end.

    • @GeorgeSoulas
      @GeorgeSoulas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@YeahBan nothing is weird if it sounds good. In the end, it's a sample library and has limitations as all the other out in the market. And they can't be perfect, there is no a perfect library.
      With the mic balances, I like to start with the decatree and the outriggers as a base. Then I put the spot mics (close) for more presence, starting from 50%. Last, I add the ambient mics for more space, these mics will make the sound larger & epic, but balance them well to avoid the sound to get muddy. Sometimes I also use the mid mics to add some extra clarity. That's it. Nothing special.
