    People are celebrating Nowruz, the beginning of the Persian new year, after spending the last four weeks preparing for the two-week holiday.
    The holiday is also observed in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey.
    In Tehran, people don the traditional costumes from the different provinces, and the markets are packed with Iranians from all religions.
