New subscriber here. Love Lowell. Was privelaged to see Feat in about 76 or 77 at the University of Il. In fact my buddy who wore a size 17 shoe went up to the stage before the start of the concert and handed George a pair of his high top Converse sneakers. George raised them to show the crowd. A memorable concert. What a show. He is one of the very best...Thanks for the tribute...
Welcome to the community, and thank you for sharing your story. A size 17 shoe? So, I’m guessing he was 6 foot nine, and always asked about playing basketball? 😂 That must’ve been an amazing evening. I appreciate you.
I'm a Japanese, loves Little Feat.🎸 I wonder if Lowell George has completed twenty million things to do in heaven?🤔 If he's still in the middle of them, I hope he'll come back to life in secret and perform them in this world.🙏
Haven't played this album in quite a while, the first effort from Little Feat, with another ex-Mothers OF Invention member Roy Estrada on Bass. "Forty Four Blues/How Many More Years" has some Howlin' Wolf influence goin' on. Got to see Lowell with Little Feat in 1978.
I noticed on his Instagram, this last week, that Joe Bonamassa is now in possession of Lowell’s Dumble amplifier… I cannot wait to ask him how it sounds, when he plays it. Hopefully I’ll get to ask him that soon, when he comes into my work.
RIP Lowell. Saw him with Feat in 77 and 78. After the show in 78 he came into a Rhode Island club (Gulliver’s) and played with Rizz a local band who played a bunch of Feat tunes. Waited in line in the men’s room with Lowell 😂
I just talked to Joe Bonamassa this afternoon, and asked him about Lowell’s amplifier. We must’ve talked about that amp, and George’s sound, for 15 minutes.
Saw Feat in 78 , ……😢 had just graduated HS… all that you dream…

Sometimes I can’t help but imagine what the jam session “heaven“ must be like. 😊
