The sequence of her gauntlets being enormous and then compressing into her fists' sizes is awesome.
It shows all the raw strength she is capable of in a single attack.
She literally "packs a punch".
Hibiki's elemental attribute: Earth
Everyone Else: Lets do some fancy twirling and pole dancing.
Hibiki: Gotta practice my Heavy Fist Kata and get my Kamen Rider Scarf ready for some face beating.
I mean, you could say martial arts are a dance of their own, albeit a much more practical (and potentially lethal) one.
But yeah, Hibiki is in a class of her own.
I would like to point out, that the animators have changed the gear and transformation sequence as well as their converters throughout the series. Which I find amazing, it's as if they're showing us the characters development through their geaar.
What's more, this transformation has elements of all other tranformations. I love how they start with S1 original tranformation.
Just discovered this anime, totally agree. I think it's awesome how they make it clear how her action-movie training has influenced her fighting style.

Technically Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Vivid and Vivid Strike had Magical Girls punching the hell out of each other the whole time, it looked really awesome.
Nanoha series was badass in general though before Vivid it was mostly the competition of who can fire a more badass magic laser that probably could take down a city.

And they actually sing during the recording of the episodes.

XV probably has the best transformations. Of the S1 trio each one gives off a vibe of some kind of combat art being bajiquan, swordsmanship and marksmanship. Of the S2 squad there are various forms of dance you have Ribbon Dancing, Figure Skating, and Pole Dancing.
The transformation scenes just keep getting better and better 😍
This show was probably the biggest pleasant surprise of my life after discovering Berserk.

Out of all the Symphogears, Hibiki fighting style is probably my favorite. Nothing too flashy, just Hibiki getting up close with her bare fist.
God there ate so many little callbacks in this transformation. From the season 1 transformation to biki breaking her heels.
Great transformation. Can’t wait see Chris new transformation. They always show off her big guns.

This show is so fantastic, in no small part because its protagonist is a lesbian bajiquan-using magical girl, which you just never get to see anywhere else.
Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru series, has a similar protagonist a kung fu magical girl that might also be a lesbian, also great show and worth a try.
She was dangerous to begin with, but adding skill to that raw berserk strength is overkill.
Takamachi Vivio is getting pretty close.

I can see a lot of references to previous seasons
The first sequence with the silhouette and the equalizers is clearly taken from the first season
The gold rings and the serial number of each gear can be a reference to AXZ (by the way my favorite sequences ever)
The hexagons splitting and turning into the armor pieces is a reference to GX
I can't tell any G reference, but overall this sequence is a mashup of memories (that could be the name of a song)
There is another call back for Hibiki, when she slams her foot down she breaks the heels of the boots. Which she does in Season 1 during one of her fights.
I think G's reference is the background itself. Though it's something that just stuck around for latter transformations, more than a reference itself
Once again, the universe is telling me to watch Symphogear.
The Symphogear fanbase will tend to do that, too.

I've been an anime fan for 25-30 years and this is the most awesome transformation I've ever seen.
Anyone else just _love_ how, in the final season, the transformations reference the ones in the first season?

@@tjuwian they're still adding the fourth season along with the fifth, for some stupid reason, instead of making the entire thing readily avaliable for catch up.
Honestly I partially blame Crunchyroll's mismanagement of this series as why it never caught on with western anime fans despite being very popular in Japan.

That dance transformation is pretty epic, the way she moves in sequence with each transformation to start it then finish.
I love that part of her outfit gets in the way
Callback from Season one when she broke the heels of her first gear because they were getting in her way of fighting.
My guess is that aside from the first season, they Easter egg'd the other seasons as well.
SZS: The equalizer, which was the characteristic of that season's transformation.
SZS G: IMO the formation/materialization of the gauntlets and boots pre-stomp. Although in XV it's more dynamic.
SZS GX: The Symphogear module on the back (//slapped)
SZS AXZ: I'm guessing the showcase of her martial prowess from the end of AXZ's transformation but with more finesse.
Also, for those who play the Symphogear XDU mobile game, there is a subtle reference to Edgy Bikki from the X-Drive Miku event! :D
Also hey! Our lovable hamster girl has evolved from delivering a single punch in the First Season to a full blown Martial Arts demonstration! I proud of her.
Actually the scarf came from her mini-episode as a divine being as when she fought Adam she had a solo tasal and when she used the gold gear at the end it changed into a scarf. I only noticed it after watching that fight sevearl times as I like the Oro puches she does.

I keep coming back to watch this both for the transformation and the singing. Oh and of course the fighting. This season is gonna be lit 🔥

Nanoha was kind of doing Symphogear before Symphogear was a thing, except not *as* batshit crazy. Nanoha's last good anime series was in 2007, though.

In the lore of the series, there are actually two types of weilders, Type 1 is a weilder who can use their relic naturally without any artificial way to force their bodies into syncing with the gear. Like Tsubasa, Chris, and Serena. Type 2 weilders can't naturally sync with any relics, so they use the LiNKER injections to help ease the stress from the gear and allow them to use them in the first place. Maria, Kirika, Shirabe, and Miku are Type 2 weilders. But now I wonder, what type is Hibiki? Would she be a Type 1 because of her not needing to use LiNKER, or is she a Type 2 because of her being merge with Gungnir for 2 years before ever using it. Or could she even be a Type like a 3rd type? Perhaps originally not capable of using a gear until her long dormant merging with Gungnir, causing her to become able to weilding it. It could be why she could never fully summon her gear's orginiel armed gear.
She was never able to summon an armed gear because her thing isn't weapons, it's holding hands. Which is why she can use all manner of gauntlet variants.
She could use an armed gear if she really truly wanted to (see: her berserk mode vs. Nephilim where she literally makes a spear out of her hand).
She's a special case due to her longtime fusion with Gungnir to where she's turned into someone naturally attuned (Type 1) as even after its removal from her body she doesn't need LiNKER.
Miku and Hibiki are type 3 which on paper is like type 1 they have no need of LiNKER to bond with a gear, but they can pretty much use any gear they want as they don't have the Babel Curse. Blame the event that both Hibiki and Miku undergone in season 2, the reason they can weild Devine Power.

john mcmasters Coffin be tough, it’s like a turtle. The CASTODIANS (literally gods) made it to contain whatever is inside so naturally 1 strike from a symphogear wouldn’t just take it out...
