Subodha Vedanta 03/05 - Talk by Swami Aparajitananda, given in CM Gokul, Bakersfield, California.
This summary highlights a spiritual talk by Pujya Swamiji, focusing on three essential topics in Vedanta:
    1. Nature of the Self (Ātma Svarūpam):
Pujya Swamiji explains the identification theory of Vedanta using various illustrative examples. He convinces us that we are not the limited, suffering individual (jīva) but rather the eternal, blissful Consciousness. While this understanding can be grasped intellectually, Swamiji acknowledges that it often does not align with our lived experience. The talk hints that further instructions on how to transform this intellectual conviction into direct experience will follow.
    2. Proof of God (Īśa Siddhiḥ):
Swamiji emphasizes the necessity of faith in the existence of God on the spiritual journey.
Pujya Swamiji, while explaining these verses, offers insightful examples from our everyday experiences, illustrating why worldly knowledge does not require the same kind of faith that is essential on the spiritual path.
He offers vivid examples from the everyday world to show how we can connect with the unseen divine presence through our daily experiences. This section stresses that Vedanta does not advocate blind faith but rather a reasoned, experiential faith.
    3. Five Types of Faith (Pañcadhā Śraddhā):
Pujya Swamiji introduces this section to us and emphasises the importance of faith and the kind faith we should have.
He concludes his lecture by emphasising that without faith in the existence of a higher Self or a greater purpose in life, we will not be motivated to put in the effort required to attain it.
This talk is an insightful guide on the path of self-realisation, illustrating the importance of faith, intellectual clarity, and the alignment of one's understanding with experience.
This topic will be continued in the next lecture.

    Hari Om Swamiji.
    Profound truth to know ourselves.
    To know our own self__
The sadhak should have faith n purity.
Which is born out of nobility.
God will lift me through faith, total surrender n sadhna.
When i am ready he will send in my life Guru or Mahatma.
What scriptures say n my experience is just the opposite.
But my Guru has said,"It must be true,it must be right."
With this knowledge ,see the same conciousness with the vision of oneness.
You will experience this when mind abides in conciousness by shifting attention.
Shift attention n drink elixir of God's name.
Through self enquiry ,fear n uncertainity will go along with pain.
    Regards n pranams Swamiji.

My eternal gtratitude for your teachings. if is possible can you arswer my question?: If only consciousness is not matter, are the vasanas also matter? And if so, the matter is perishable, then the vasanas must desappear within a certain time? wich we know is not the same as the body, because when taking another body the vasanas are still there. I understand that this is part of Karna, but the matter of the vasans has different properties?
