Yes! Not only is it love, it's respect. People in this drama either hate her, or are infatuated with her. Love Alarm clearly isn't 100% reliable, it changes quickly *especially in the comics* if someone has even a little bit of romantic interest in someone, thus why celebrities have their Love Alarm blow up. Sun-Oh would never say the things Hye-Yeong is saying here, because he cares more about his pride and "love" than he does her as a thinking, functioning, individual human being.

Thanks for voicing my thoughts, I thought I was the only one who thought this way. As a character, Sunho was impulsive and acted on his feelings. I didn't feel like he gave Jojo much time to think about what she wanted and how she felt, not like Hyeyeong did.

It’d be realistic and healthy for her to end up with him. Too much has happened for her to go back to the other one. That’s life, you never stop loving someone once you love them, but that does not mean you can’t fall in love with someone else who’d suit you better for the moment. Despite Sun Oh's constantly challenging him over his feelings for Jojo, Hye Young never confirms it to Sun Oh verbally until he's FIRST told his feelings to Jojo and she has agreed to date him. And one of the reasons that Jojo feels safe dating Hye Young is he is very upfront that she never has to worry about pretending to feel something she doesn't, if her feelings are confused, that's okay, all she has to do is be who she is, and it that means she dumps him, then that's what she can do. Jojo and Sunho are a mix of giddiness and passion, that'll always flicker like flames, bright one second, and awash in darkness the next moment. None of them have the emotional maturity to support each other. Jojo and Hyeyoung are symbolic of tender love, understanding and trust. Jojo needs that kind of shelter to pull her out of her dark memories, she needs a field of sunflowers to brighten up her gloomy heart, someone who says, "I'll think of new ways to make you happy". She needs someone stable, who is secure in his thoughts and will be able to pull her to safety from the turbulent waters of her childhood. Sunho needs that too. Yukjo does that for him. And Hyeyoung is that person for Jojo. Passion cannot pull you through tough times, but love and trust are in for the long run. People like Sunho more, because A) He looks gooood *swoon* B) They like that kinda giddy high school love. Hyeyoung would have a lot more fans if people weren't deluded that the person who chases the girl first 'deserves' her, because lol this isn't a race to the finale. This scene had my heart go through thousand feelings. I was blushing, stomach was aching, my smile was wide as fuck, my eyes were twinkling, was jumping, running then coming back, happy tears were flowing n many more. One of the best scene ever. This caught my eyes on Jung Ga Ram. His poised and gentlemen attitude won my heart. Team Jung Ga Ram here❤️❤️❤️
This scene is why Hye Young was a better fit. Sun Oh needs constant reassurance that he is loved, was always pressuring Jojo to articulate feelings or explain to him things she still hadn't figured out herself. "You like me. Tell me you like me!" But Hye Young only ever wanted her to be herself, no matter what, and would respect her choices, without demanding supporting evidence. Her emotions were not on trial. If she was unsure, that was okay, he wasn't going to get mad and yell at her for it. If she wanted to end the relationship, that was okay, he wasn't going to badger her for 4 years to invent an explanation he would accept, he would just respect her choice. He didn't need reassurance because for him, loving her was it's own reward. He got joy from ringing her love alarm, Hye Young's happiness came not from being loved, but by simply loving her.
There was no doubt that Sun Oh brought so much sweetness memories to Jojo but this scene is really touching and melt my heart....my favorite scene in this drama!
This was such a powerful and true statement, a relationship is something that cannot be done alone. Happiness and sadness are part of this equation but only someone who is sincere is worthy of these emotions and Hye-yeong went in knowing that these far outweighed being away from Jojo. The definition of a true man and someone who is worthy of Jojo's love and affection.

Rouge Apoline Alo this. But to be honest I think it was the writers intention to portray him this way. The show tries to discuss the question of love and relationship. Il-Sik, Sun-Oh and Hye-Yeong portray different stages. Il-Sik when she didn’t know what love is yet. Sun-Oh where she didn’t know how to handle a relationship yet. And then Hye-Yeong where she is ready to learn from her mistakes and work on issues instead of running away. There’s also a huge contrast between Sun-Oh and Hye-Yeong. Sun-Oh never really understood her, he loved her but everything went his way. His definition of love was love alarm as he said “we have love alarm, that’s all we need now”. Meanwhile Hye-Yeong understands that the app may show attraction, but it does not mean you don’t have to work issues out and make an effort in a relationship. He is selfless and would have never put her in the position of cheating on her boyfriend. I really do think they did all of this on purpose. To show that love and love alarm does not equal a healthy relationship. There is so much more to it.

My personal opinion : i think JJ has started to like HY in this scene. Earlier before they plan to meet up, she was determined to reject him. And before HY confession, she said she cant ring his love alarm, and asked HY “are you ok with that ?” As if she wants to give herself a chance to move on, to be happy, to be loved, someone to care and join her life journey, and believe that she will be able to do so with HY. I agree. Actually after rewatching this scene, I finally understood. A lot of people were complaining how in the beginning of Season 2, it shows Jojo and Hye Yeong dating already and they were confused and mad however, I finally understood it was at this scene that Jojo accepted Hye Yeong. This is because if you noticed, she allowed Hye Yeong to ring her love alarm in front of her. This is what couples do when they want to confirm their love for one another which was to ring each other's alarm in front of one another just like the couple in the skating ring, jojo and sunoh as well as the married couple. So in this scene, Jojo has already accepeted Hye Yeong even though she cant ring his love alarm which we all failed to notice the first time. Furthermore, Jojo actually went to meet the developer in the first season itself for Hye Yeong because she wants to prove to Sun Oh that she has already moved on from him.
Sun Oh might be the one that jojo loves and wants but hye yeong is the one she needed the most. She can be her true self around him. She has nothing to worry about if she’s with him unlike with sun oh she’s suffering so much😭. It’s more realistic if she’s ended up with hye yeong 🖤 . I think she's more confortable around Hye Young because she's not in love with him. I mean, she can be physically attracted and even care about him, but it's different. With Sun Oh, she suffers because she likes him so much that hurts and Jojo doesn't know how to handle it. She has never received love, all she knows is pain and how to hide from it. If it wasn't for the break up, they could have been very happy. But I agree with you, it would be much more realistic if she end up with Hye Young, but I hope not. Hyeyeong is kinda the main lead. In one of the drama's posters he is more important than Sun Oh and Jung Garam's name is also listed before Song Kang's in the cast list. He just does not have much screentime in season 1 because they're saving it for season 2
I need Hye Yeong and Jojo to end up together!! He's loved and respected her for so long!! Also, remember when Sun-oh said "I moved 9.99m towards you and you can't even move 1cm for me?" Here, she's gathered up the courage to try and love again and moved towards Hye Yeong. That means something!

I read in the manhwa where Sun-oh admits that the reason why he chased after Jojo for the first time is because he knows Hye-young likes her, so he wanted to steal her away from him. You guys should read the manhwa too, it has more details, there are scenes that has been changed to a different sequence but the characters and the story is basically still the same. None of them have the emotional maturity to support each other. Jojo and Hyeyoung are symbolic of tender love, understanding and trust. Jojo needs that kind of shelter to pull her out of her dark memories, she needs a field of sunflowers to brighten up her gloomy heart, someone who says, "I'll think of new ways to make you happy". She needs someone stable, who is secure in his thoughts and will be able to pull her to safety from the turbulent waters of her childhood. Sunho needs that too. Yukjo does that for him. And Hyeyoung is that person for Jojo. Passion cannot pull you through tough times, but love and trust are in for the long run.
People like Sunho more, because A) He looks gooood *swoon* B) They like that kinda giddy high school love. Hyeyoung would have a lot more fans if people weren't deluded that the person who chases the girl first 'deserves' her, because lol this isn't a race to the finale. She deserves to be with someone who can light up her heart and keep her warm, irrespective of which person came in first or second. Also, the actor cast as Sunho is extremely good looking, and people being shallow as they are, will be a little biased towards that actor and in association, Sunho's character.
And for the record: Sun oh clearly saw that his best friend had a crush on jojo. Yes he asked him whether hye yong liked her and hye yong said no, but it was so obvious that he lied . Still, Sun oh decided to hit on her and kissed her. So technically hye yong was the first to like her

This scene is why Hye Young was a better fit. Sun Oh needs constant reassurance that he is loved, was always pressuring Jojo to articulate feelings or explain to him things she still hadn't figured out herself. "You like me. Tell me you like me!" But Hye Young only ever wanted her to be herself, no matter what, and would respect her choices, without demanding supporting evidence. Her emotions were not on trial. If she was unsure, that was okay, he wasn't going to get mad and yell at her for it. If she wanted to end the relationship, that was okay, he wasn't going to badger her for 4 years to invent an explanation he would accept, he would just respect her choice. He didn't need reassurance because for him, loving her was it's own reward. He got joy from ringing her love alarm, Hye Young's happiness came not from being loved, but by simply loving her.
There was no doubt that Sun Oh brought so much sweetness memories to Jojo but this scene is really touching and melt my heart....my favorite scene in this drama!

This was such a powerful and true statement, a relationship is something that cannot be done alone. Happiness and sadness are part of this equation but only someone who is sincere is worthy of these emotions and Hye-yeong went in knowing that these far outweighed being away from Jojo. Rouge Apoline Alo this. But to be honest I think it was the writers intention to portray him this way. The show tries to discuss the question of love and relationship. Il-Sik, Sun-Oh and Hye-Yeong portray different stages. Il-Sik when she didn’t know what love is yet. Sun-Oh where she didn’t know how to handle a relationship yet. And then Hye-Yeong where she is ready to learn from her mistakes and work on issues instead of running away. There’s also a huge contrast between Sun-Oh and Hye-Yeong. Sun-Oh never really understood her, he loved her but everything went his way. His definition of love was love alarm as he said “we have love alarm, that’s all we need now”. Meanwhile Hye-Yeong understands that the app may show attraction, but it does not mean you don’t have to work issues out and make an effort in a relationship. He is selfless and would have never put her in the position of cheating on her boyfriend. I really do think they did all of this on purpose. To show that love and love alarm does not equal a healthy relationship. There is so much more to it.

My personal opinion : i think JJ has started to like HY in this scene. Earlier before they plan to meet up, she was determined to reject him. And before HY confession, she said she cant ring his love alarm, and asked HY “are you ok with that ?” As if she wants to give herself a chance to move on, to be happy, to be loved, someone to care and join her life journey, and believe that she will be able to do so with HY.

I agree. Actually after rewatching this scene, I finally understood. A lot of people were complaining how in the beginning of Season 2, it shows Jojo and Hye Yeong dating already and they were confused and mad however, I finally understood it was at this scene that Jojo accepted Hye Yeong. This is because if you noticed, she allowed Hye Yeong to ring her love alarm in front of her. This is what couples do when they want to confirm their love for one another which was to ring each other's alarm in front of one another just like the couple in the skating ring, jojo and sunoh as well as the married couple. So in this scene, Jojo has already accepeted Hye Yeong even though she cant ring his love alarm which we all failed to notice the first time. Furthermore, Jojo actually went to meet the developer in the first season itself for Hye Yeong because she wants to prove to Sun Oh that she has already moved on from him.
Sun Oh might be the one that jojo loves and wants but hye yeong is the one she needed the most. She can be her true self around him. She has nothing to worry about if she’s with him unlike with sun oh she’s suffering so much😭. It’s more realistic if she’s ended up with hye yeong 🖤 . But if there’s a way to make her back with sun oh then it’s a drama after all😂. Just my thoughts 💭
I think she's more confortable around Hye Young because she's not in love with him. I mean, she can be physically attracted and even care about him, but it's different. With Sun Oh, she suffers because she likes him so much that hurts and Jojo doesn't know how to handle it. She has never received love, all she knows is pain and how to hide from it. If it wasn't for the break up, they could have been very happy. But I agree with you, it would be much more realistic if she end up with Hye Young, but I hope not. I want Jojo and Sun Oh to be end game

Hyeyeong is kinda the main lead. In one of the drama's posters he is more important than Sun Oh and Jung Garam's name is also listed before Song Kang's in the cast list. He just does not have much screentime in season 1 because they're saving it for season 2
