[My top grail projects]: Definitely Black Knight and Young Innes. BK is probably the unit with the most skills inherited after my regular Ephraim and he's been able to run so many different builds as the times changed. As for Young Innes, extremely strong ability on a FTP unit and I popped sooo many +10 Fallen Edelgards back when she was everywhere. I recently picked up his Forma with some fun new skills.
[Current grail build project]: Summer Seth because they won't give him a worthy 5* alt. I passed on giving him Arcane Downfall, but I think I'm going to go with Arcane Prima...once I get it.
[Grail units I want to build, just haven't done so yet]: Orson - totally not still salty about his weapon.
Valentines Lissa - Armored Healer is funny.
Summer M!Shez - would have done so if I hadn't +10'd regular F!Shez and if literally all my +10 projects weren't Blue units.
BK is just factually one of the most net worth grail units to max specifically because Black Luna refuses to be irrelevant so long as you run his refined weapon (given how arcanes work), he can be the most bare Spiral 4 Black Luna spammer and he's still going to murder about 95% of the cast, only not 100% due to Scowl being a thing now.
YInnes is quite good even now too, I still use him every now and then and with the correct special he pretty much never disappoints, his eventual refine is only going to be stupider.
Also freaking mood on Shez, he's a lance flier... in a literal ocean of so many of them and if not, ALSO an ocean of so many blue units, really put into perspective in this video even though he still rises above most.
Hopefully Seth gets the respect he deserves soon
My favourite Grail unit has to be without a shadow of a doubt, Masked Marth. She was the first unit that I ever spent Heroic Grails on and she was my first ever +10 Grail unit after how good Sealed Falchion's refine was (at the time). I may not use her as much nowadays but she will always hold an incredibly special place in my heart.
Been here since day 1 and it's impressive seeing the grails units we've had for almost 7 years
Definitely my favorite grails projects have been Julius, Cormag and Jeralt
My current project is Fargus, I'm waiting patiently for next month

My most used grail unit is by far Black Knight. He's just so versatile! I've also +10'd Groom Robin as fast as he was available on the Grail Shop.
Other Grail Units I've +10d: Itsuki, Aversa and Ursula. Yes, my Grails are mostly used for skill inheritance bridging.
Played since day 1 and man it's great to look back like this, thanks so much for the nostalgia bomb!
as someone who has been playing since the very start, this was a nice look back at the grail units.
Camus and Xander served me well during the dominance of mounted memes in arena.
I did build both Lloyd and Linus, but only Lloyd survived till today, though I still have to inherit him T4 premium skills + arcane + flowers.
Michalis is another grail unit I am very fond of cause he really helped me a lot at the start. I still have him in my barracks and keep capping his Heroe Merit every year. That axe from the Fuga was a nice upgrade, though I do not have him +10, flower capped or ever gave him premium fodder.
BK, Joshua, Eliwood and Lyon all served me well, though I never gave them premium fodder.
Those whom I have fully invested on are Canas, Valentine Veronica, Summer Norne and Xmas Bruno. Sadly, I could not get the arcanes for Norne and Bruno cause gacha sucks.
before grails and the shop become a thing I decided to go down the GHB/TT unit only route around the time Fallen Takumi came out
it was rough and people called me crazy due to using units that at the time would never had reached +10 and the depressing treatment these units were getting Book 5 was PAINFUL
but it was extremely rewarding being able to do these abyssal maps with these looked down upon units and this was before some got their refines
my journey for feh can be summed up as winning in the long run resulting in a less stressful experience rarely having a gambling addiction because I'm more interested in the free units we get than the banner units

My favorite grail unit has to be Death Knight. Even if he’s a fraction of his power in 3H, his art + voice acting is amazing, and I inherited tons of skills on him to keep his speed SOMEWHAT relevant.
Other +10’s include Masked Marth (which is probably the case for many day 1 players), NY!Keaton, NY!Yarne, and Cornelia.
Hoping to merge up G!Robin, S!M!Shez, and Zephia next!

My top greil projects include black knight, and all 3 of TWSITD that we have. Tales better be a hybrid support and combat unit cause im building a team using only TWSITD and kronya needs after combat cooldown support. Also kinda want him to weild his sword rather than a tome, but also have Quake.
Either that, or Solon's refine grants it, but i suspect theyll make him a combat unit

This is such a detail and excellent breakdown of grail units. I like how you even talk about artists. One of my favorite is Ippei. His art is very unique and probably why he does more grail units than the mainstream artists. My fav grail unit is probably the og Xander since I used him a lot back in day in so many modes especially the arena.
Excelent stats and Breakdown! If Zelgius hadn't spooked me a few times, I'd definetly build OG BK too. Currently, my top grail projects are Y! Innes(missed his debut on April 2021, as I rerolled my account on May 2021), Lumera and Female Robin(Yes, I'm building an year 1 character in 2023). Projects done: Clarisse and Boyd😊

Been here since Day 1 of FEH. Among all the grail units, my most invested Heroic Grail units are Canas, Arete and Bridal Louise. Canas is max-invested with +ATK/+SPD boons and runs a speed-stacking build to reflect his FE7 performance, Arete is currently at +7 merges and is rocking a speedy Arcane Eclipse set (waiting for SPD/RES Menace for her), and Bridal Louise is nearing max merges and is my current Quad Queen with Whitecap Bow+.
Still working on Finn, Zephia and maybe Halloween Sophia.
I have indeed double dipped and have both Michalises invested in.
Current projects are Cyril (waiting for one copy hopefully from anniversary), Fargus/Saizo (waiting to hit grail shop), and potentially Sigrun (to finish a theme team, hoping she'll pop up in BW)
Really interesting and nice video. State of the meta aside, i really love FEH for this type of thing. Especially the artists and art stats

Fun fact, the last time we had a non seasonal Tempest Trials was TMS, or if you don't want to count that, Brunnya was the final non-seasonal Tempest Trials reward. Really sad actually. Now any new unit will be GHB guaranteed, and no Tempest Trials for regular chapters. I think having Tempest Trials only be seasonal kinda makes the game slightly more samey sadly.
Edit: Been here since 3 days before Nohrian Summer ended. I remember summoning Summer Corrin and got her before the banner ended. She is 3rd in obtained in all of my barracks today. After Askr Trio, I kept a Fir and Jaffar from those days apparently. This was before CYL1 released.
Edit 2: My most treasured grail unit is Canas, next one being LA!Eliwood, I just need to eventually finish his build..
Black Knight I recall being very excited to get since I actually liked him, but was sad that he didn't have that echo-y filter hd had in Path of Radiance. But Robert Clotworthy definitely makes for a good 2nd voice for him, and I have grown to like it easily so soon.
But the one I was beyond happy to get was Flame Tribe Mordecai. Funily enough, I was always wishing for a GREEN INFANTRY Christmas Alt. for him to get, but when I saw him at the end of the trailer meeting 2 of the 3 criterias, I couldn't contain myself and just oozed with joy that I wouldn't have to suffer RNG Luck to make him +10. I still use him to this very day, and I don't think that'll change anytime soon.
_(Now if he gets a Red Infantry Alt., alongside Helbindi recieving a Spear Alt., then I can die happy.)_
I have to pick Pelleas as my favorite Grail hero. From being my first +10 grail unit, to getting my first Arcane, he’s been getting the best treatment on my account and has been backing up his treatment. If I had to pick runner ups they’d be Khadein Soren (his art is banger) and Y! Innes (his weapon is super good and I got his forma for good fodder recently)
Can't talk about Grail units without talking about Ippei 🤣He is the GOAT
I'd live to see some more dragons, beasts and healer units. Having maybe 8 to 10 unique weapons for grail units in a book would be nice.

I joined in 2021, and Scion Nanna was, and still is, one of my best healers around. I still keep her with me at +2, even with a build that's frankly not very great lol. Other than her, my main Grail projects currently are Halloween Nils (I'm a big fan of Nils, and I was able to fetch him a nice build from a Rhea copy and Rearmed Sonya), Summer Seth (I got Arcane Thrima from spark, and I've always wanted to build this future prince consort because I really like him), and Groom Robin (I haven't done anything with him yet, but I intend to some time in the future).
Winter Cecilia is still a favourite of mine she was my first +10 grail unit and helped me clear my first ever Abyssal map back in the day. I think it was Navarre’s map, these days most units can just clear entire maps almost by themselves but back then I had to genuinely think about it.😅
Wow, we really have 166 grail units. Decided to look back and out of all 166 current Grail units I have, and still use, are;
Xander at +10, Black Knight at +10, Aversa at +10, New Years Laegjarn at +9, Spring Loki at +10, Kronya at +10, Flame Emperor at +9, Ashnard at +10, Minierva at +6, Petrine at +10, Nemesis at +10, Sonia at +10, Arete at +3, Bertram at +10, Hilda at +4, Fallen Muarim at +4, Limstella at +4, Jeralt at +10, Vigarde at +3, Cornelia at +9, and finally, Zephia at +9.
Counting them up, that's 21, I've built/using 21 grail units out of 166.
Side note : You aren't the only one salty about someone not getting Rune Sword. I'm still upset about Bertram not getting Rune Sword.
Berkut was one of the first (maybe actually the first) GHB unit I +10'd and he's served me well for years. I stand by the idea that his weapon's still not that bad. An effective +8 to Atk/Def/Res with bonus neutralisation. It's not flashy but it's still better than many inheritable options and, in some situations, Arcane Qiang isn't strictly better. He doesn't seen much use nowadays when I have better options and everyone and their Lumeras have NFU and DR, but DC+Vantage cleared a lot of content for me back in the day.
But, I also built Itsuki who served similar uses and he's really started shining for me since I gave him Gambit so who knows. Maybe if IS gives defensive cavs some actual skills to work with, my Berkut could make a comeback.

I've been playing since hmm the siblings banner with Klein, Clarine, and whoever else was on that. I remember there used to be Fire Emblem Heroes ads on Snapchat and I think that's how I found out about the game and here I am almost 7 years later
Still here for my faves and what more they may get.
As for grail units. My number 1 unit I've used and still use is the Mad Dog, Linus and now even his fallen version. Sure, there are others I've built and some that have sprouted my interest. None have the best treatment like my Linus'es lols.
Lloyd being how he is isn't easy on the eyes but, I love his character so I built him up anyway. When his resplendent rolls around, he will be ready to slay with all that handsome features he has...I hopes✌🏻
Units that I've built:
Julius, I like him for his hate on Reinfart cause I too hate his ass
Jamke, I like archers and he seemed cool to me
Heath, loved him in Blazing Sword so sharing the same artist as og Linus was sweet
Young Innes, I love Innes and ever since he tried ordering Tethys and Gerik after he had already fired them was one of my favorite moments from him😂
Brunnya, I liked her in Sword of Seals and what a treat to be using her in Hereos it's great
Zephiel, I love his character and his story and his spin on his Echesachs is very unique.
Galle, was waiting for years for him to finally get in and you bet I built him with the best can't wait for his refine in the fall next year.
Narcian, had to build up all the Wyvern generals lol but he is fun to use and his voice was just like how I thought he'd sound lol
Murdock, glad he finally made it in about time
Camus, love the guy and every version he's been.
Regular Michalis, was my 1st Axe flier and he sure is fun to use when I don't forget
Fallen Takumi, never fully played Fates but he seemed interesting to me when I got to the chapter when he shows up on Birthright plus splash damage with an archer is fun.
Rutger, another fave from Sword of Seals and is my replacement Lloyd if he had gotten treated like Rutger😅
Sedgar, I liked him in Shadow Dragon and the dirt he throws at Marth is something else though I like how Marth doesn't care or has better things to do than what people say about him😂
Valter, I love how he lusts after Ephraim and Eirika as delicious prey and he just loves seeing the world burn still mad that he killed Glen and I'll be building him as well when he comes around.
And last but not least, Lyon,
My absolute favorite antagonist next to Zelgius
Surprisingly I never fully built Black Knight since around the time Zelgius was my favorite version of him and yeah but I may just fully merge him now that grail resplendents have joined the fun.

Cynthia is my favorite of all, omni unity and warping can make some serious shenanigans when she reaches 100 speed
I forgot to do Tempest trials so I didnt get Kana. And shes not in the heroic grails selection. What can I do to get her? 😢

Maxed out my Panne and still use her to kill most things. Love the grails so I found guarantee a +10
Just a polite head's up Narcian is a Lance Flyer, not a Red Infantry tome unit.
Other than that, I'd say "Marth" or Mask was/is my favourite unit that I'm still working on to this day. Ironically because I didn't get to even get a copy of them until I restarted playing FEH.
GHB version was an Axe Flier, actually!
I still think one of the builds I've made and still enjoy, is my meme speedy Arden. He has canto, dodge DR, % DR, breath type cooldown, and can get a total of +23ish speed in combat. I use my og Lyon, And Julius a lot, some of my most used units in the game (mostly because they are some of my favourite characters). Do plan on building up; N!Saizo, Cornelia, L!Lucius, and maybe Zephia and BK.
That sounds like a fun Arden build. I like most grail Armor units. Wanted to make a Zephiel build back in the day but didn't get to it.
My favorite grail unit is Itsuki i love tokyo mirage sessions and he stats are pretty even out which i also like
My favorite grail unit by far is spring Luthier! It sucks that he won't get a prf and that he left magic, not to mention you never talked about him :(.
However, I love using him in FEH, and I'm hoping his normal version gets the good prf he deserves soon!

A little off-topic but i really wish they update old personal skills (Arvis ' Recover Ring, Arden's Follow up, Minerva's Dragoom Shield, etc).

I don't use my grails enough. Mostly because I don't have skills to fodder to grail characters. So far, I've only +10 Holst, Berkut (first one), Morgan, Jeralt, Aversa, Arden (for Pawns of Loki), Zethia, Cynthia, Panne, Shamir, Robin, Jamke, and Leonie. Though, I only actively use Holst, Jeralt, Cynthia, Jamke, and Leonie... Refines and personal skills go a long way for me. Almost as much as liking the character. If I like the character, I invest and try to use them as much as possible, though it's not always necessary. Now that they get resplendent stats, I'm always impressed seeing people's dedications to them. I remember when they were considered the worst (Why use "Marth" when Lucina has boons and is summonable?) but over time they've gotten quite the glow up. While most still aren't as good as modern day, with flowers, arcane weapons or refines, new skills, and blessings/support, they become viable in interesting and specific ways. I do wish there was more to do with the heroes in the barracks so that there's be opportunity to use older heroes for something.
Never really cared for the grail units ever since Black Knight was released since they just seem like 4* units that happen to be given for free or given a free 5* upgrade. Thats when Ninja Hana got introduced and I made some fun "stylish" builds like running her with Deck Swabber, Handbell and Giant Spoon. Only then did I start looking into some other units like Mininerva, Kronnya and the king of slow himself, Arden. My most fun grail project right now is Cervantes, and Arcane Qiang is a crazy lance for him. Slap on my spare S!Edelgard's A/D Ideal 4 and Assault Troop (which are perfect for him since he comes built in with A/D Ideal 3) and you've got a dual phase monster with crazy damage and crazier facial hair
Book V was a really bad time for reward units. I sent so much feedback to them about it.
My favourite reward unit has got to be Kronya. Before dodge became a thing, I would use her a lot in AR and I still use her in SD.
Something looks terribly wrong about Narcian. Did not even notice that he was an infanrty red tome unit in the graph. what threw me off was his low attack stat of 20. Narcian is not a heavy hitter but this low of an attack stat is insulting to his marvelous brilliance.
Now if only they fix Lloyd's art then I can finally build him
