3:33 “I’ll process that.” I’m gonna steal that. 😂😂😂
Brilliant podcast as usual, nothing better than sorting the lads uniform out for school in morning with the earbuds in listening to nasser & Athers.
Bishop was a very underrated bowler in his day lost in the plethora of West Indies fast bowlers of the era. Love his input as a commentator.
i don't think he was underrated. He was actually even more highly rated than ambrose in wi cricket circles. colin croft once said that bishop would have been the best WI pacer ever had it not been for multiple stress fractures. marshall was interviewed during the 88 series in england and said in reaction to an ambrose spell that ambrose was good, but ian bishop would be the holy terror of WI cricket. he was just unfortunate to have serious injury issues
@@juanestadian8471 None of them is the Whisper death though, like Micheal Holding.
@@juanestadian8471 Facts.
Bishop one of the most neutral voice in the world of Cricket
He was express pace, had bad luck with early career.ending injuries
Have to feel for Ian Bishop, Atherton managed a whopping 4 sixes in 115 Tests!
I love Ian Bishop. I am glad he is commentating on this series :)
Ian Bishop is my all time favourite commentator ❤ from 🇮🇳
@YouhanDon What do you mean ?
@YouhanDon
Not many would understand your reference, poppet.
Best wishes, all the same.
Pip pip
Bishop what a legend! iconic voice of cricket
I am a massive fan of the three of you: Atherton for his articulateness, Nasser for his grace and particularly Ian for his charismatic presence. And this was pun intended :)
The great 3 commentator I love to see hear cricket comments.
Finally, the real cricket season starts. Can't wait
Joke of the season
Ian Bishop - Best cricket commentator in the business.
Ian Bishop, my all time favourite commentator 🐐
All time 😊
Ian bishop is the best commentator going around. Him is fare and him give players there praise.
REAL CRICKET IS BACK!!!!🎊
Atherton hitting a six to Bishop .. No way ! I can only imagine that it was a steepling ball and to an imagined flick by Athers the steeply climbing ball took the top edge and ball went over the boundary behind the keeper and Athers had to be revived because he thought his head came off and had fainted ...
Ian Bishop best commentator love from imdia
Brathwaite must remember Anderson 500th wicket and learn, he is the experienced man here and needs to show that as captain
We have to wait till 10/07 for proper cricket, better late than never.
Jimmy the goat exits a legend fast bowler even in 2070 year if cricket exists till than this man's record will stay
WI should've included Chanderpaul at the head of the order. He was stable enough in the few digs that he's had in Tests
Agreed he looks like a good player, should've given more chances at the top
Top 3 commenteter of present era with their analysis
Every time I am listening and looking your podcasts and waiting love from Afghanistan please talk about the rise of Afghanistan is well thanks
A brilliant episode
Proper cricket is back🎉🎉🎉🎉
Waiting for ENG vs WI test match Nasser Hussain and Ian Bishop are my favourites in Commentary ❤
Whatever happened to Tegnarine Chanderpaul ?
And where's Miguel Cummins ?

Great discussion
Excited for the start of the 1st test at Lord's 😊
Saintly❤
Huge fan of Ian Bishop
Jimmy's longevity is an outlier because he is a one-format player. People tend to forget that the bowlers he is up against mostly play 3 formats + franchise cricket . Jimmy , as good as he is, had the benefit of working in cooler climes and sticking primarily to the one format.
He still had what would be almost a full length career whilst playing all three formats when he was younger. He played his first odi in 2002 and his last in 2015 which is a longer stretch than Kevin Pietersen’s test career.
Absolute nonsense. He’s one of Englands leading ODI bowlers 🤦♂️🤣.
@DJR1409 lol... he last played an ODI 9 years back . His last T20 was more than a decade ago. The point being raised is about longevity and not quality.
His longevity has DEFINITELY been helped by him being a one-format player
And so I don't see a Bumrah or a Cummins play at 41 if they continue to play 3 formats + global franchise.
Jimmy plays one format, mostly at home, so his longevity is an overrated attribute. He is an all-time great, no doubt, but people talk up the wrong qualities
@@nikhiltalgeri5910 Central contracts was the key to his longevity. Parking his ODI career after the World Cup helped, for sure.
Finally some cricket
Athers is very articulate but he keeps saying 'he was sat' 'they were sat' it's 'sitting' not 'sat' 😂
Bold from Nasser and Ather to assume that there is going to be a slight green track with assistant for pace bowlers!!!😌
For me considering how they prepared pitches, it's going to be flat to help their batters style of play!
Yes Lords will definitely have prepared a flatter pitch because they’ll want the test to be longer…4 days at least. I’ve bought day 5 so hope so
I’ll process that lolllll
Bishop is love❤
Thanks for reminding me of the Caribbean Islands suffered from beryl
Not much is expected of this West Indies team, so they have an opportunity to surprise.
I agree, just like much wasn't expected in Australia.. people need to understand the WI have a barrage of young guys that are not bringing any baggage
Where are Wood and Archer, even Curran left armer
Very good sir
Finally test cricket returns.
Jeez Athers. You just left the Caribbean. Where's the tan?
He is white
Get ian bishop more often
Nice 👍
What a Coincidence! One of the greatest batsman in the history of the game and one of the greatest bowler in the history of test cricket both gets retire against the same team. Hope you people guessed it.
Anderson had the privilege of playing for England,A country where Test cricket still holds a high regard.
That's not the case with rest of the world. So I don't see any other fast bowler playing past 40.
Quitting White ball cricket is a major reason for his longitivity. If had played white ball cricket and franchise cricket,he would have already retired by now.
I don't think anybody else doing that especially in this era where T20 cricket is the money maker.
So I don't see anybody following Jimmy's footsteps.
It's too risky in this day and age especially if you're not from England or even Australia.
Lol listenedd to all 40 mins lol
Nice
White ball cricket is no cricket at all! Time to Test, the king of dis ting.
It's totally Jimmy's decision but I felt he should have retired after the ashes this yr. But nonetheless he is a true legend❤❤❤
Anderson is an england great, definitely not an international great. His success comes mainly from helpful pitches.
Bol locks best swing bowler of all time
Can't forget Bumble.
One prlbm we have play the moving ball
What about Roston Chase
Nasser is holding back his tears well its obvious jimmy made his debut under his captaincy and now 21 years later signing off at high note
Id have given him all the summer as a fairwell
@@ContentGramophone-tp9gw well everything comes to an end and made his debut at lords and now finished at lords full circle, no grudges
❤
Potts over Atkinson in the 1st Test definitely
Jimmy has not retired he has been forced out, which is entirely different. Ageism is alive and well in English cricket. Firstly in the Sky Sports Commentary box regarding Botham, Gower and Lloyd, now on the field with Anderson. Come on Jimmy get a 10 wicket match ,then stick two fingers to the lot of them

We beat South Africa, New Zealand twice, Pakistan away, drew series with Aussies, how are we bottom?
Lost to india and Aussies away
@@jakehowie442 does the away loss to the Aussies count in the same period? Even if it does with the listed victories I still don’t see how we are bottom?
England 3-0
1st comment 😅😅😅
*ECB is crazy to force him into retirement ... he is such a legend that he should be the one calling the shots. He still has at least 3 more years left.*
There is a mention that ECB is crazy, why?? Legend or GOAT depending on your viewpoint it was time for Jimmy to go but as he hung on ECB had to do the right thing. It is better if Jimmy goes out on top against the West Indies then get smashed on the next Aussie tour!! Three years more that is nuts!! I like the Aussie way their legends know when it is time to let go,otherwise you tell me if Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath had a few years left.
Bro atleast he should play this whole home series before retirement.😢😢😢😢😢
@@zafarhussain4848
"It was time for Jimmy to go?" And who are you to decide that?
Let him decide because he is still playing pretty darn good. With his record and CURRENT performance,,, he should be the one calling the shots. Not you.
Should’ve played all games this summer that’s it
@@jakehowie442
I still don't understand exactly what's the hurry? He is doing very well as a pace bowler. Why fix when it ain't broke?
