    I hooked these up with aiyima A07 pro and Aiyima T6 Pro preamp . It is a spectacol of music and sound ! Very happy with them , also i hooked up a subwoofer Eris Sub 8 . Nobody can ask for more in a medium size room , really good quality sound , and i heard plenty of floorstanders . These speakers are really detailed and punchy all the same ! Superb combination !

    Jason, nice job man. I want to see a vid about passive speakers for PCs connected to dac connect to an amp, but without the part why things work like that, just the how to make it work.

    Great information. We are wanting to replace our large speakers with small desktop speakers and this is the information is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.

      Then you don't want desktop speakers. You want bookshelf or stand mount speakers. A desktop is meant to work and sound right on a desktop and they will not be adequate for even a 'smallish' room. Even a smaller bookshelf with a sub can approximate a set of large towers.

    Not just resistance, but reactance as well. So, impedance, which changes with current.

    Cheers for the info! Is there a way of knowing how much the amp affects the tone? I need a 12v amp to power studio monitors with a balanced frequency response for mixing in a camper van. Niche i know! Cheers for any advice!

    thank you for the explanation. My question is what specific preamp would you consider buying for the passive Kanto yu4? I am connecting it with a turntable (phono) and probably going to play my iphone wirelessly.

    I have a question tho, how do I connect, lets say that AMP to the PC, because I wanna play my music via PC?

  • @VisnitchiRaul
    @VisnitchiRaul ปีที่แล้ว +7

    From my experience, a 30W amp at 75% volume has enough power to destroy 100+W speakers.

    • @robertf6409
      @robertf6409 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why...how does that happen?

    • @VisnitchiRaul
      @VisnitchiRaul ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Robert F Probably because it's about the source power. Some sources have low power so the amplifiers were made to compensate for that. If I use my PC at 100% volume, high power source, I need to use the 30W amplifier at max 40% volume. If I use my smartphone at 100% volume, low power source, I need to use the 30W amplifier at max 70% volume for the same results. +/-.

      get an Aiyima T9. Great amp, small footprint and the valves look really cool. It has a solid DAC, Bluetooth etc. Just got one.

    Sensitivity rating too tho bro

    • @KantoSolutions
      @KantoSolutions  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most modern amplifiers have enough power to drive a speaker to an appropriate volume level. If you match an amplifier's power to the speaker's power rating and it's still not loud enough, then you're either buying the wrong type of speaker for the application or the manufacturer has not spec'd it correctly.

    I received my pair of yu 4 speakers today. Sound is pretty nice. However the build quality left a lot to be desired. The finish around one tweeter was cracked. And the edges on the front exposed the mdf underneath. Maybe I’m a bit salty as I was pretty excited for these. The design is nice. Just poorly executed. Hopefully I was just unlucky.

    Good video for the beginner but one quibble, speakers are rated in ohms but that is an impedance value, not resistive. Other than that, OK.

    • @djdj500dr
      @djdj500dr ปีที่แล้ว

      Impedance is resistance.
      Differently terminology for AC or DC circuits.

  • @souvikghosh2430
    @souvikghosh2430 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Precisely its not resistance, the load should pronounced as impedance.

    Guy, you are wrong - lower ohm rating, more wattage required to run / higher ohm rating, less power required. Try driving a 4 ohm speaker with an A/B amp rated at 8 ohms, the top will heat up drastically and clipping could occur, or permanent damage to the amp or receiver.
    And where does the speaker dip? Meaning some are rated at 8 ohms but due to the crossovers can dip to 4 ohms or even less.
    You need to know a whole lot more about your speaker's impedance curve before matching a speaker and amp / A/V receiver.
