    Interesting observation on the lack of celery. Friends from Eastern Europe didn’t know what celery was when they saw me cooking with it.

    ❤. I will have to watch this video, again. The information and sights are to us, unbelievable ! Tsunami, sparking tea-sets, grave sights, etc. Great filming. Sara walking ahead of you is smart thinking. She can alert you of uneven paves and holes. 😳. Safe travels.

    Enjoying your videos and will be taking many useful recommendations from them when I go there next month iust a quick question on your drone footage, is it fine to fly a small drone without any bureaucracy? I have a mavic mini which is generally okay to fly in most places without any problems, some places need it registered etc but that’s it

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kilbsy glad you are finding the content useful!! The drone footage I use is not my own , it’s 3rd party under license. We don’t have space to take a drone and were concerned about regulations, bans in some countries we want to visit, and having more lithium ion batteries than permitted in air travel.

    Welcome back, guys !
    Lovely video, great filming, it shows the beauty of the place. Very interesting history thanks for sharing all the information.
    Amazing market ! Are they showing prices ? One thing I dislike about the Farmers Market here and indeed in supermarkets too is the lack of clear pricing.
    Shame the cuisine is samey there too. Your Chinese and Indian cookery skills must be well tuned by now as ours is lol 😊
    Look forward to your next one !

      Lots of b-roll filming in advance and then putting the story together in editing. I am glad you liked the filming and information.
      Inside the market yes most things have the prices displayed. Random vendors outside, no. Albania has better produce, but the overall grocery situation here is a bit better, particularly with meat.
      We still cook most of our own meals. There is some good food here eating out. This place has the best cevapi of anywhere.

    ❤. This morning, I sent you a comment that must not have gotten to you both. Regarding falls while holding camera, see what big damage my son received to his ankle “filming”. New to my son’s TH-cam channel, named “Prejean with a Passport” regarding his injury. 😳

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PeggyWithAPassport oh no! Did not see any other comments today but sometimes TH-cam is difficult to track comments. Yes, filming or vlogging while walking can be hazardous, I have had a few close calls. Luckily I trained in Albania which has the worst sidewalks in the balkans.. you can literally walk into a hole.

    Thks for this detailed intro to Mostar! As you travel thru Albania, Montenegro and now Bosnia, did you face a problem with inhaling second hand cigarette smoke, as you go about ur everyday life ? I understand that the Western Balkans have a smoking culture. Which country is worst ? But I am guessing that in the coastal cities of Montenegro, this should not be a problem because tourists should out-number locals there :)

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cigarette smoking is everywhere, on patios, inside places to eat (not all). They are all the same. Tourists are generally from other balkan countries, or countries where they would like to smoke on patios, so it's happening all over.

    Hi guys,
    So, the building that you called the bank at the end of the video never officially even worked before the war. As children, we called it toblerone because it reminded us of toblerone chocolate.😃 Enjoy the city, but it's nothing like it was before the war.Be careful that someone doesn't steal from you.Have fun!🤩

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ah yes, I can see why you would call it Toblerone! Great city, we love it.

  • @cl2385

    Great city and looks so pretty too! A bit off topic but, do you as Canadians have to pay taxes on worldwide income like us unfortunate Americans? Trying to do the numbers to see where we land after having to pay taxes, really hate those taxes.

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So this is a very important thing to consider. No, we are not in the same situation as USA, I believe the only way an American can get out of paying worldwide tax is by renouncing citizenship. That said, slow travel for us avoids triggering any tax in foreign countries and having a dual tax liability. If we were to pick a place to stay long term it would either need a tax treaty or have low enough cost of living and tax rates that it still was beneficial in the end. Research the list of countries the USA has DTT’s with. (Dual tax treaty).

      @@JayandSarah We have seriously considered that with a CBI (Citizenship by Investment), a bit pricey but might be worth it in the long run. Our Social Security money gets taxed, after being taxed on it already while working. Paying taxes on money that was taxed!

      Religious, yes, but when it comes to money, they all forget religion. The city has an invisible division line. croat mf attacked the old city and the complete so-called east side of the sity and pulverized it with help from croatias army. war criminals
