    The plural of Lotus is Lotus, according to an old press release from Lotus themselves.

    Just PPF the front end and the area between the door and rear wheel arches and you’re good to go for track use. It’s worth doing regardless tbh

    My 111R has no radio, no A/C, usually top off. A street legal rocket that is best on twisty roads with new, fresh, soft rubber. Yoko AD09s on mine.

    I would love to see the corner balance of one of these cars.

    5:17 - What twisty roads have you found in the area? I usually go up South Mountain, but its short. I have done the Apache Trail, but it is a long slog on the 60 to get out there. The Phœnix grid is not a good environment to keep these cars

    awesome video quality!! I'm on the pre-order list for the Emira. I was planning on selling my Elise to put it towards the Emira.... Emphasis on the word "WAS". I test drove the emira, and I just can't justify it over the Elise besides a "show off" car. Yeah, you'll get looks on the elise where haters will make fun of you saying it's like a giant clown driving a mini-car, but honestly, there's nothing like it. I've driven the ferrari F430, C8 Corvette, and now the new emira. Yeah, power will be there, but there's something about the characteristics of the elise that's like giving you a shot of adrenaline with the top off. The only other car that got an insane amount of attention is my FD RX-7, and my 2022 Genesis G70. The lotus gets some attention, but nothing like the RX-7 and the Genesis (Especially in my Siberian Ice color)
    Oh yeah, you forgot to mention that the car will not engage the second cam until the car is properly warmed up, which you'll see a temperature in that digital display next to your fuel guage.

      @seventhgearsyndicate  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow if that's not a testament to how insanely cool these cars are then I don't know what is. I haven't driven a C8 yet but from talking with people who have driven more modern cars everyone seems to come back and say none of them give the engaging fun experience that you can have in an Elise or Exige!
      And regarding the car coming up to temp I recently heard from another local Exige owner that even after you start seeing the temp reading out on the gauge cluster you should still wait for a few minutes before really getting on the throttle in these little cars just to make sure it's really warmed up and ready to rip on.
      Again, thanks for all of your insights and the discussion that's happened on this video. I really hope that it will be useful to people who come across it and want to know more about these awesome little cars.

      Actually, they modeled it after Ferrari Dino. That's why it has that flying buttress look along with two front big wheels shape on the hood, just like Dino.

    Why are these two Lotus out in the daylight in Phœnix? Because it is winter. I only drive mine at night time during the summer

      I own the Elise in this video, I love owning it but you’re right it is really tough to drive around in the summer during the day!
      Winter is much more manageable and fun!

    Is the exige similar in price?

    • @CBR240z
      @CBR240z ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exige carry a price premium. They are rarer (about 1000 Exige, vs 5000 Elise in US I think) and the later Exige had other perf advantages. Such as supercharged Exige had intercooler where later SC Elise did not. Look at prices on BAT or other, you'll see depending on the year and exact model the Exige carries a >20k $ premium. BTW - I own a 2007 Elise, and would never sell it as these cars are such a pleasure to drive.

    • @seventhgearsyndicate
      @seventhgearsyndicate  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CBR240z You nailed it perfectly. I lucked out when I found my Exige and got it for what I felt was a deal but typically they're a good deal more expensive. Especially on the later cars that were supercharged, they're up in price. I have of course seen clean desired colors of the Elise sell for some pretty good premiums though too.

      Thanks so much! They're definitely very different than the Corvettes. I loved my C6 and will get to drive a C8 soon but there's something totally different about the experience in a Lotus. It's like a gokart for an adult is the best way to describe it.

      I get more looks and questions in my Elise than my Z06, not to mention it runs more than it doesn’t unlike the Z06. These are way cooler.
