bro whats the difference between using the outputs and just exploding the tracks and putting the effects on inside the daw? wouldn't it be the same?? Thats how ive been doing it. but it looks the same as using the outs bc you can mute them as well
The difference is it’s an analog output that then goes to a mixer for outboard processing and then into the uad Apollo where there are some plugins on the way in ( eq, tape emulation etc) commiting it to the stem Exploding tracks is still a digital process that never leaves the digital realm. I’m mainly doing it this way so I have some external processing and can record live stems. It’s more convenient having the explode feature as you can have every track exploded instead of just 6 mono stems or 3 stereo but the difference is sound possibility makes it worth it
@@ThesisOfSyn I see! So how would I sync it up coming in? My apollo x doesnt have midi. How do you record it in to trigger the recording on the grid? I would love to run my live 2 straight into the apollo. Are u saying I need a mixer too or will it would straight live 2 to apollo x to unison?
Great video. Bro I have a question. I have the mpc X and a old school Digi 002 that control Pro Tools 10. My Digi 002 is starting to have static in a few of the channels so I think it's time to get rid of it. My question is do I need a new interface or can I use my MPC X as a interface to record my beats in to Pro Tools. I don't record any vocals just sample based beats. I was thinking about a focusrite scarlett or a Apollo Twin
Hi found this stream really interesting and i got part of this template down, but got lost ehen you started the sub groups etccould youl plz take me through setting up the sub groups etc. I will be routing this template out to several daws i own Logic pro /Reason /Ableton /Studio One and Fruity Loops.
@@ThesisOfSyn yeah I have one i'm just trying to figure out your setup because I'd like to copy it. I'm just trying to figure out how you have all the analog gear connected and where the sound passes through if your interface ins are occupied by the Mpc. sorry i'm new to this.
Great Video Shea, Hello from Bournemouth! I have the same kind of setup with an MPC live 2, TD3, virus classic and virus C, Korg monologue etc. Have you tried the multi midi through USB yet? I'm getting strange erratic tempo slowdown from 134 to 40bpm within 30 seconds, between the TD3 and the Monologue when Midi inputs are active. Tried every possible setting but keeps doing it, same every time whether through a hub or straight into the USB ports on the rear of the Live, Exactly the same was happening on the Akai force before I sold it due to not liking the workflow. I have gone back to midi din with it all now as seems a lot more reliable as running dawless so want to reccrd CC's into the MPC. Looking at the iconnectivity mioxl to tidy up the midi. Running an old Akai s6000 sampler fully loaded for the 16 outputs into my desk. Beast of a machine!
yes im the same, i prefer the old school din cables. Ive note even tried the USB hub thing. The Din cables from the MPC live have been flawless for me mainly because i dont have that much stuff

You could use the software and stem the parts out instead of using the analog outs
I like your video man thanks.
Great video

Slightly confused, how are you connected to the individual channels? Is you MPC sync to the Interface?
So the mpc has 6 individual analog outputs which I am using plugged into 6 inputs on the apollo

@@doublekream7837 aahhh I see, sorry I have an extra 8 inputs via adat to accommodate all the gear.
