Thanks for posting. So easy to take apart. Not so easy to reassemble.
Man merkt die Mühe und die Arbeit, die hier drin steckt! Top Job und hammer Moped! Mehr davon alta!
I always envy people with well equipped garages and time to do shit like thjs
Man I wish I had time to do stuff like that right now! I am tearing apart my sprinter van (ambulance) and just found a big hole in the frame. Good times....
Auf jeden Fall von der Ausführlichkeit und den Arbeiten gut gemacht, das mit der Kamera ist auch sehr cool!
Vielen Dank!

schöner content! Weiter so
Great set of video's, Dennis! There is not a lot of information on the web that gives such a complete and detailed insight in tinkering on the 640 Adv as your content. So thanks a lot for the effort, I find your content very usefull and relaxing to watch. (And some extra credits for the Metal Gear Solid sound in part 3 or 4 ;) Just one question: what kind of spray do you use to clean the engine and other metal stuff? Greets from your Western neighbor.
Hi,
thank you for your appreciation! I'm glad that you liked the vids, I was questioning if people would enjoy such a long vid at all!
Regarding your question: it's mostly brake cleaner. I have used the usual spray cans for a number of years and ~2 years ago swtiched to using a pump bottle and refilling it from a 30L container. It saves me money (€ per Liter) and I don't produce as much trash (empty cans).
The chain was cleaned using petroleum gas, basically what you would put into a torch on your porch.
@@DennisGarage Thanks for the reply + answers. Just yesterday, I bought a couple of metal Gastronorm containers (the ones that you used for cleaning the chain) Got them for a few Euros and they work great in the garage. Details like that inspire me. Besides that, I also own the carbon tank guards, planning to attach them in the following weeks. Did you use standard silicone sealant? Cheers!
@@vitharod5277 Oh sorry I didn't reply. I used some sikaflex zu hold them in Place. I have also seebn people using big zip ties.
Beware that the carbon guards and the tank move/flex differently. Also, the fitment ist noch 100% - on the left side I have a gap between the guard and the tank of about 1,5 cm I'd guess. I just filled it up with sikaflex (silicone stuff - automotive panel glue).
Hey Dennis what was the reason for your swap. I have the same bike and think I have bad rings. Any advice you could give me ?
Hey,
my reason was that my old engine developed a knock, and I didn't want to risk it detonating. I put a replacement unit in, so I can keep riding while I (some day) fix my engine.
As I haven't actually opened/repaired my actual engine (got another BIG project going on atm), I can't give you a lot of advice.
But I'd suggest you check out the channel of Braap Support, he does a LOT of LC4 stuff:

He is also available via WhatsApp and I do think he'll manage english.
Also, I'd recommend the LC4/640 Adv Forums on Advrider:

Did you rebuild it?
@@DennisGarage yea the first ride is on my channel
Why the engine has broken?
I don't know yet. It started to make funny (funnier) noises as usual so I replaced it. I hope I can get to rebuilding it this winter, then I'll know more!
@@DennisGarage Thanks!! I will wait for it!! Have a nice day!
