Xeno, I think what you were trying to say was that 25-30+ years ago it wasn't necessarily that there were less dangerous people, but more that there was a sense of local community that has been lost in the online age. Communities relied more on each other, and there was more general accountability for one's actions because there would be a more direct, negative impact for being a shthead/etc. that couldn't be ignored by just getting a new online handle and swapping to a new forum. It was harder to run away from consequences
but also people did more crazy stuff because of that "local community" feeling though

20:20 I could be wrong about this, but I think stuff back then wasn't necessarily better, I think it's more that you just didn't hear about stuff nearly as much since information wasn't nearly as easy to come by. People are so well connected to each now a days no matter how close or far they are away from each other you can find out literally anything in seconds about almost everything.
