NIce video with plenty of good advice, even for people trying to break 80 or 70. Regarding the distances, I feel most mid handicap players know their distances... in optimal conditions, but they are very bad at adjusting that number to account for the lie, the wind, the temperature, the... that lower handicap players do "automatically", possibly because of experience. And pros keep on saying "go to a trackman and learn your carry distances" (with me, for a fee) when what people really lack is information on how much the conditions affect the shots. What I would recommend is 1° laser all your approach shots before hand, assess the conditions (wind, grass, slope, elevation, temperature, at least) and 2° see what happened to your "normal carry". 3° repeat and adjust on the next shot... and keep on doing that, taking note of what made you shorter on some shots, longer on others and what influenced the curvature.

I struggle around the greens Hannah. I can go ball strike the crap out of a course and really melt down around the greens. It's nothing for me to shoot an 82 with 40 putts or some such nonsense.
Hi Hannah, I'm just about to start watching your video. As you know, I'm a fan of your work ... but I'm nervous that it's just another course management video. If my timing is on, and I'm striking the ball well, I can break 80. If it's not, I can score nearer 100. It's the factor in my scoring. Yes, a good putting round makes a positive difference, and knifing chips will always damage a card. But nothing makes a score collapse more than strike. Ten penalty shots from the tee with driver, 3 wood, hybrid, or 4 iron make a solid score impossible. Anyway, maybe I'm unnecessarily concerned. Let's just press play and see what you can help me with today 🙏. Thanks again for all your good work 👏.
What exactly do you mean by not striking well? Wide shots or heavy or thin shots? I don’t always go into specific technical advice as i think that is very individual and you should get advice from a swing coach who can see your swing on video or in person!
@hannahholdengolf - thanks for asking. 😊. I tend to lose my timing somewhere in the sequence, around transition. Our club pro showed me a video and said I was steep in the downswing. The cure seems less clear. Until I work out what feel I need to fix it, I'll be thinning or toeing a bunch of shots. In the meantime, I'll watch and admire your swing 👍.
Great video! This is my goal to achieve at least this level of golf. I'm not able to play enough to really get good, but I think a 15 handicap and the ability to break 90 is a resonable goal and would make me feel like I'm not a complete hack.
