I've always loved Judy Collins and hers was probably the best concert I ever went to. Love this beautiful old song! Judy sings it with such a sweetness, just a beautiful version. ♥
Sublime. I take issue though with a change in lyric, though. It is usually sung that the briar grows from Barbara Allen’s heart and the rose from William’s. Makes more dramatic sense that way, to me.
A beautiful old song sung by a voice as fresh and lovely as it was many years ago. As lovely as the singer still is today.
Am I the only one who far prefers this era Judy? Her voice has aged so beautifully!
She is 81 what a beautiful soprano voice very angelic voice amazing how her voice is still very light and she has can still reach those high notes.
She was 83 when you posted this. Since then she has cut her hair and at 84 still living her best life.
83 years old and a voice like a 20-year-old? My mind is boggling.
Your beauty has never diminished over time! Thank you for sharing your beautiful voice and music. Merry Christmas lovely lady!
Great voice, beautiful eyes.
Beautiful, ethereal, divine, Miss Judy!
The voice of an Angel on earth. Loved her since the beginning
Voice like angel 😍. Youre great 🙌

I was here first. I expect a valentine card! 😊
This song has evolved from a song that dates back to the 1600's.
1665.
‘I take issue though with a change in lyric.’ Damn thing wouldn’t let me go back and edit.
Still like sterling on silver
A version in which Barbara isn't mean... that's different.
