Can you imagine having 4 receivers like that? Haven Moses, Marlin Briscoe, JD Hill and Bob Chandler?? That's an amazing group. Probably the best 4some in Bills history.
This was the period of time that the Buffalo Bills played at War Memorial Stadium (They didn't move to Orchard Park until 1973)--Otis Taylor (WR for the KC Chiefs) used to say of all the stadiums he ever played in--he hated War Memorial the most--the stadium was located in a very run down and rough neighborhood of Buffalo and the visiting teams bus would often be pelted with rocks and garbage--players would run off the field after a game to get to the dressing room as they knew the hot water for showers would run out if you didn't get there early
It was not that run down. It had businesses and it had homes. It had street gangs. But, it was not how it is described. We walked to the games all the time. And never had issues.
@@steveswangler6373 Dr. Bennet Omalu said he was virtually certain OJ Simpson had CTE and was willing to bet his medical license on it. So, did that lead him to violent behavior up to and including two murders? It was probably at least a factor. And so, two people who never played football are dead. (Of course, his complete lack of a conscience is also a factor.)
The year before 1970 showed some kind of hope and then it all went into the crapper till 73. A combination of too much youth-too many bad players and a QB that spent every down running for his life or on his back while OJ made miraculous runs just to get to the line of scrimmage. The defense was a complete sieve. We had the worst O-line and D-line in NFL!
Question for Andy Provin: What happened to all or most of your Bills' videos? The old Bills teams from the 1960s and 1970s are among my favorites. These highlight films always lasted between 20 and 30 minutes. Your videos last only 15 or 16 minutes and are either continued on a Part 2 video for 9 or 10 minutes...or there is no Part 2. So we can only see part of your videos. What happened? Where are the complete versions?
+6400az They were basically marketing films for the team. The one advantage is you get historic profiles of athletes who were more run of the mill NFL players of the era and how they could have been viewed at the time.
+zyxwut321 Yeah, they really where. It was kinda like team infomercial of sorts.I never missed a Game of The Week or This Week in Pro Football show, just love this stuff.................even if Al Cowling never made it to Canton...lol
Let the record show that the 1971 Buffalo Bills went to Minnesota in week 3 and put up 64 yards of total offense and 3 turnovers. Then, they went back to Buffalo, I assume they practiced all week and made some necessary adjustments. Only to reemerge the following week at home against the Baltimore Colts...with what may be the worst offensive performance in league history. Just saying they lost 41-0 does not do this travesty justice. The Bills committed 6 turnovers, amassed a grand total of 4 first downs. James Harris and Dennis Shaw were sacked 9 times. They were penalized 8 times for 67 yards. O.J. gained a whopping -10 yards on 7 carries and when it was all said and done the Bills offense had mustered 49 yards for the day on a dismal 32 plays from scrimmage. Now, I'm no expert, but watching this video, you would get the impression that this team had promise. 113 over a two game span does not scream promise. It whispers...we suck...lol
That team won game in 1968 , 4 wins in 1969, 3 wins in 1970 and 1 game in 1971. They won 9 games in 4 years. Terrible organization at that time.......Sad...
The guy barely would get the snap and two defensive guys were on him. He had no line -got pummeled and OJ was still trying to break out and didnt till 72.
The worst season in bills history. Dead last in both offense and defense, worst point differential in franchise history, worst winning percentage of any bills team

Wow...Al Cowlings, Juice’s teammate at USC, was a player...same two met up in white Bronco on the 405 20 years later...
Classic Bills unis...Rick Azar on the commentary from WKBW
Helmet to helmet. How ironic nowadays.
Tom Flores on the coaching staff.
Man judging from this video Al Cowlings should be in the Hall Of Fame!
Al Cowlings!!! Driver for the Juice!!
"Helmet to Helmet". The good old days...
phillip chmiel yes, the good old days when players got brain damage and the nfl threw them to the curb. you're pretty sadistic.

@@danieldougan269 Stop making EXCUSES for what O.J. Simpson did. He is a MURDERER and a THIEF who couldn't hold Thurman Thomas' JOCKSTRAP.
The Juice is loose!
I wish THIS type of celebration would've been the norm instead the football spike. Bills # 75 3:43
Edgar Chandler, Bob Tatarek, Walt Patulsky. All belonged in the CFL, maybe
Old school 🏈

Al Cowlings, certain future All-Pro!
David Steinle These team years videos are so biased, you'd think EVERY member of the Bills would've ended up in Canton.

Rough dudes on that Buffalo defense, no doubt.
Tommy Thomason look up any team's highlight video from this era. all of the players, and especially defensive players were rough.
Walt Patulski was on the 72 team.
Helmet-to-helmet right. Al Cowlings and O.J. Simpson team. They work well together.
I like Alvin Wyatt's white plastic face mask. That's what the Bills should have.
he was the only player in the league with one like that at that time
Greetings, is there a chance you will download the rest of the video?
it wont upload. sorry

Donny Wisniewski I remember that game. I left at halftime. If I recall OJ ended up with -10 yards rushing. I thought 68 was bad but 71 was really bad.
Oops, I see you mentioned that.
Noted as the all time worst Bills game ever!
That 1971 Buffalo Bills team only won one game. Worst Head Coach in NFL history.

GIve Harvey Johnson a break. He was thrust into the head coaching position just before training camp when John Rauch upped and quit.
David Steinle He couldn't COACH a fish to swim
@@DNSKansas The poor guy was guzzling milk on the sidelines to calm his ulcers.
HI GRANDPA
Where do you find these season yearbook videos?
I trade my games and PrimeTimes for them
This account of the Bills future was so much propaganda, they were lacking at almost every position.
sad this 1971 season the bills had thier worst record 1-13
Dennis Shaw,what a stiff.
Yeah, he went from Rookie of the Year in 1970 to a complete bum. What a horrible regression.
