My new Homedics humidifier came with one of these cartridges. I followed the directions but the cartridge leaves a black residue in the tank and the base. I clean the residue out but it returns even worse after the next tank. I already have fairly soft water. Is that the reason?
Once for every time you need a new cartridge. Mine says to remove it every 30-40 times I gotta refill it. The humidifier lasts me a good 2 days before I gotta refill it so I only need to replace the cartridge every 2 months
Can you use the humidifier without the Demineralization cartridges?

this is a dumb question but u only have to do this the first time you use this correct?? Not everytime you refill it?
