  • This is the second video in the series about English football songs. Football is a big part of culture in the UK and the songs sung in stadiums are sometimes similar around the country. I have selected some songs that arising in different stadiums in the UK.
I think. they can help learners of English with the sentence stress and intonation of utterances.

Thanks mate - I know you like the songs. Liverpool don’t usually sing songs like these but they are often sung in other stadiums up and down the country. There’s some great anthems from other Premier League clubs - I should do one about them.

@@MerseySegara Yes that's a good one because Liverpool have won by that point :) It is a song that used to be sung in pubs at the end of the night.

I'd like to be in that favourite situation tomorrow night after the match to can sing 'Can we play you every week?' or 'Are you Inter in disguise?' ... but ... I don't know ... 😀

Haha it’s a big match isn’t it. “You don’t know what you’re doing” could have been sung to Sarri when he was there. Juventus have done so well to get back in touch with the leader.

Thanks mate 👍 I will soon. I’ve been posting regularly on Instagram. I have so many ideas for videos but I am a procrastinator! Hopefully, this week but probably next week… new video will be ‘the difference between American and British English when talking about football’ ✌️⚽️

Nil = zero… blues = Man City (probably)… ‘the blues’ can also mean you feel sad.

In sport, in the UK we don’t say ‘zero’ - we say ‘nil’ 👍
