The French and mostly Europeans promoted colonial tourism. They find ways to market the country by making it sound exotic. lol. That has happened to Egypt in the past. What really the game changer is the locomotives and automobiles, in the past they would advertise transportation services to tourists by offering cheap or discounted prices from one place to another. I know that most colonized countries would set up railway networking projects and the locomotives were imported from Germany.

@@vincenjones4915 I have nothing against landlords and trading on markets but landlords do tend to be unreasonably greedy and real estate is far too speculated on.
The property is worth nothing of no one is buying and less if every single unit on koh pich is just a trap waiting for an earnest buyer to scam

The area is so beautiful. The property, however, is sitting empty because the rent is outrageously expensive. no one can afford, unless it is luxury brand.

Can you do a vdo on the Kula people who used to live in Pailin province? They were from Myanmar and settled in Pailin since the time it was under Siam. They were very rich people because they work in the ruby or gem industry in Pailin. They built Wat Yat and etc in the surrounding areas. They also most likely inspired the Khmer novel Kolap Pailin because the costumes from that movie look very Kula and Burmese like, see Dy Saveth’s movie poster she starred in that movie. Also the peacock dance is a dance practice in Myanmar and it’s a dance specific to Pailin which I’m sure was brought over by the Kula people. The thing is from what I heard is that the population pre 1975 was in the tens of thousands but nowadays there are zero left. They were either killed or all moved to Thailand. The KR took over Pailin, not many people know this history so it’s good to spread awareness. Oh yeah they also gave Cambodia “mee kola” which is a noodle dish very similar to one in Myanmar as well, definitely cultural fusion.

Those French-style'' Haussmanien '' buildings have been made by Chinese developers to attract potential Asian buyers !! The French Expats live in the BKK area, along with other Europeans and Foreigners in the capital city!!

Too bad, political influence changes. Higher taxes were the main issue that happened in the 1900s. There were French Indochinese articles that talked about villagers and farmers avoiding paying taxes and they end up living the jungles. Those who were in the jungle created an Anti-colonial resistance group. There were bandits group as well.
