Thanks for the review!!! I just got a V5 Kraton in part thanks to this review. I keep saying your tag line .... "It just doesn't care" Wow, no joke!!! I just shredded my slush covered road, jumped snowbanks and went over crazy wet snow. The thing literally gets up and planes like a boat then you're gone!!!

Thank you so much My Friend for taking the time to talk to an old man. It means a lot for someone that is as busy as you surely are to do these replies. Just picked up an SCX24 and I LOVE IT. Got one for me and one for my son. First foray into the electric RC world and want to get back into the hobby. I spent 2 hours outside playing with one yesterday and felt like a little kid again.

I knew kraton would be number one.!!!!!!!!!!!! The kraton 6s is by far the best rc i have ever owned. This thing is a monster!!!!!!!!! and definitely deserves the number one spot.
Just bought the Infraction V2 and Outcast 8s, so I think your list was great!

I have have the Kraton 6s and Outcast 6s, amazing trucks.!
i've been out of it for a long time, back in 87 I got my first RC-10, with a few upgrades started racing it, did for several years then got transferred overseas and never found the time to get back into rc racing. but I still have my RC-10 and an RC-10 truck, and a couple more, hopefully some day will have to time and money to upgrade the electronics and batteries and have some fun. Was pretty cool to see what they are selling these days :)
That's cool you still have the vehicles Kirk. I also have an old RC10 that just look pretty at this point. Hope you can get back out there driving soon!

My favorites are as follows, in no particular order: UDR, X-Maxx, Rustler 4x4 VXL, E-Revo 2.0, Defender, AMG 6x6, Maxx, 4-Tec, Summit, Mini-Summit and mini-Revo...Got them all this year!

That 80 mph pick up truck is bad to the bone, whoever was driving that thing has serious skills, drifting between those tight poles, SWEET! Great list, now I’m going to go search for RC planes, I’ve seen some wicked fast fighter jets years ago, 350 mph if I’m not mistaken, absolutely insane speed for a scale model, Wright brothers eat your heart out, and props too because if it wasn’t for them who knows where we’d be today.

We actually have an RC race track near my house and school like literally across the road. They looked fun but because of the prices we couldn't buy one. They were also so loud😄
Check used prices on eBay, lots of people getting out of the hobby selling cheap.

Man this year would be a tough one. This has been a great year for new releases. Can't believe the capra didn't make it but it's a kit so alot of variables I guess.
Yea I'm also surprised in how the capra didn't make the list. All these other models on the list were great but the capra has a lot of capability for any terrain.

I'm sad, my Kyosho Demon nitro didnt make the list. Maybe after I make it electric it will have a chance 😃. All joking aside pretty ahoy with your list. Arrma is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the rc world.
either the stunt truck or the infraction look pretty fun. I have an RTR that I got for about $150. It was my first, but I look forward to upgrading one day. The tech has come a long way since the 90's.

Boosted CRX Doubtful. Horizon Hobby has stuffed hobby stores with tons more Arrma products and people are buying them up like Apple stock.

If number three is the same rc i viewed about a month ago on a road where running along side a highway this rc got the jump from highway traffic and still blitz them it sure eats up distance and spits out speed awesome vid dude thanks.

Im surpriced that kraton 6s won the first place, but it also looks like a beast! Just hadnt seen it coming with the bending chassis and radio equippment with a bit imputlagg. Maby i underestimated this powerfull great looking truck after all :)

im surprised the Xmaxx was not on the list
X-maxx has been in like the past 3 lists. Once arrma can fix their bending chassis the x-maxx will have some real competition but people ain't gonna buy a 700+ dollar RC car if it breaks easily. I was one of the first in the US to have an X-maxx and it was 9kagued with problems at first but when running, damn. I put an 8s castle system in mine and the diffs would not hold

It had its chance and Traxxas did a shit job with 6s version but ended up fixing all with 8s ,the shit I knew needed to beefed up but I ended up trading for a dbxl with replacement parts where known weaknesses were and lots of alloy and I beat the snot out if it and only had a drive pin come out one time and it was because if my own oversight. Traxxas should have at least offered the beafier drivelines to those who had the POS 6s version with diff teeth the size of an eight scale not something weighing 20 pounds.

From what i have seen so far the Kraton 8s, or "King Kraton", does not really have a problem anymore than any other RC its size. Chassis damage has been observed as being the direct result of aggressive and repeated abuse. The most common acts of abuse are "superman jumps" getting the machine 30-50+ft in the air and it landing from a nearly straight drop and crashing into curbs, phone poles, massive boulders, the sides of buildings and walls, or other comparatively immovable objects. Yes, High jumping into a flat landing straight into the ground counts as crashing into the ground.
There are, what I will call "crashers", bashers who are literally trying to destroy their RC by crashing them. Many of them will complain vehemently that "It sucks because I CAN break it", or viewers of their videos will come to that conclusion. The aforementioned acts of abuse do not qualify as "normal operation", yet these "crashers" and their viewers will claim that it is "normal operation".
DJmedic, like some RC TH-camrs, occasionally, though rarely now, makes it a point of crashing his RCs often ending videos on the beleaguered and abused machine in pieces. Granted, his channel earns him more than enough money top buy parts and often he is gifted new RC by the manufacturers. But he used to overtly praise this kind of abuse as a virtue. Not everyone in the hobby [can] afford to trash [an] $800+ machine like some cheap Walmart toy. [Now] when he does break one of his RCs it is because he pushed it beyond its limits or suffered the same kind of wrecks most people will, flips and rolls that catch something wrong and breaks it. That is more a fault during normal operation and could point to a fault in the machine.
Buying expensive upgrades to cover for your aggressive, repeated abuse of the machine, is your own business. But if you use RCs sensibly, the only reason you will be buying upgrades is to make it faster, more agile, run longer, last longer. No one makes [an] indestructible anything. Do not pretend they do.
